How do you manage to get vehicles shitting themselves at every ops. But more importantly how do you manage to always get killed by them.
Old FParma tradition. [t]https://share.comfy.li/f/68f733e370157a53973371491a64a6acaeff50ba.PNG[/t] Looks like someone was changing the tires on the vehicle and then it freaked out. Was a good idea to keep a safe distance when the car started to hop. Cars will start to hop when they feel threatened by Players, and in the worst case, explode. Isn't that one of those RDS A2 Cars anyway? I know they are ancient.
Dynamic Light render distance has been upped in the graphics update https://www.reddit.com/r/arma/comments/4e7t1k/til_arma_3_apex_renders_dynamic_lights_and_smoke/ Also dev blog on the graphics upgrade including some nice comparison images https://dev.arma3.com/post/oprep-visual-upgrade
Noice. As usual i wonder if that render distance got any impact on performance.
Noice. As usual i wonder if that render distance got any impact on performance.
From the Article:
Speaking of which, in terms of performance, the new lighting configuration itself should have have no impact; however, terrains with a lot of shoreline may be slightly impacted, due to the new approach to rendering water on the coast. Although we expect the new Screen Space Reflections tech will be more demanding, there is an option for players to disable this.
I was thinking about the dynamic Light render distance.
I was thinking about the dynamic Light render distance.
If there was any mentionable performance impact, I'm sure they would have addressed it. However, they didn't even mention anything regarding view distance. However, to me (And Aparently many others, dev branch runs a lot faster). Essentially, I get about ~80fps on altis at any time in an empty editor environment. In Dev branch, I always have 100+ FPS on an empty altis. Interestingly enough, Bumping view distance and object distance to 12k (Up from 2k) and Increase my resolution from 1080p to 4K still gives me a stable FPS of 25 on empty Altis. And thats with Everything either on Very high or Ultra (8x AA Aswell) I have no idea what kind of witchcraft they did, but it seems to be working.
Might find this interesting
Proof we're just bad

I love the new lighting, I think the only problem with it is that the sky is too washed out.

So do they have plans for performance improvements for Apex?

Hey we're exactly the opposite of the mil-sim aesthetic. "So Tom, what kind of missions does the community you represent do?" "There was that one time we flew some planes into a building on Altis an a vein attempt to kill the governor despite it being against command orders." "..."
All in all that visual update is more than welcome, it's a considerable improvement over the base game. They did a fucking nice job. I just with they would acknowledge and show some love to particle effects in the future. Namely explosions, impacts, things like that. But mostly explosions. Because they honestly look like fucking shit. They're just a giant puff-donut of smoke with a yellowish light in the middle. In fact, this is one of the rare aspect of ArmA 3 that didn't improve one fucking bit over ArmA 2 and feels deprecated. They're flat, they lack dynamism and they're way too small. And relying on OpticalSnare is clearly not an option. Never was. /rant
For some reason the smoke coming from burning wrecks looks pretty decent, but everything else looks like it came from Arma 2 would be really fucking rad if they redid effects like fire and explosions

Oi, I need some help. my ARMA 3 refuses to launch after I've already opened and closed the game, say I was playing the game fine, then quit. The game will not start again. I tried launching through A3Sync like normal but nothing happens when I click "Launch". if I try and launch through steam or with ARMA3.exe it just opens the launcher, but the launcher doesn't actually show up on my screen, my mouse still changes and I can click on links and stuff in the launcher but I can't actually see it. This all fixes itself when I restart my PC and I have no fucking clue why. I've done the usual verify integrity and checked my processes to see if A3's running, but nothing works except restarting my PC. BIS pls
anything useful in the RPT?
Possible Sunday TVT mission if there isn't one already in the works http://strawpoll.me/7354272
anything useful in the RPT?
An RPT isn't even generated. [vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/suqwvq.webm[/vid] Why must god forsake me.
this just came up in my facebook feed :suicide:

If you do, disable them for the time being. Also i know for a fact that they don't go well with DXTORY, the game needs to be launched first then DXTORY in order for it to work.
Guys reminder that Kaukassus is taking driving lessons. Please make sure he drives correctly in events and scorn him for doing wrong.
