Holy fuck yes
On the topic of ww2 commando actions , I'd like to do https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Biting (might not be feasible though), or maybe the assault on Dieppe, or possibly https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Claymore
Hell, commando raids on a flat desert map with the SOV humvees would be fun as hell
Operation Entebbe would be a pretty easy one to do. A bunch of IDF with uzis trying to rescue hostages versus a bunch of terrorists in some airport.
Here is my point of view (it's still kinda processing, so it's not in a good quality juuust yet):

I grew up playing WW2 shooters, so the idea of playing as old-school US Army Rangers armed with M1s, Thompsons and BARs holds a special kind of appeal to me..
Nothing will ever beat I-44 back in A2 days.

I'd really like to see a reenactment of the Gran Sasso raid
Survey repost. Will only post it one more time after this. So if you miss it then too bad.

Can I submit mine again?
[editline]22nd December 2015[/editline]
I submitted mine again.
Best fun I probably ever had in a game of comfy downtime.
Hey, I'm going to have some more free time, and my friend bought ARMA 3 a while ago and he wants me to teach him to do shit, including mods and shit. Can anyone suggest me any sort of missions or scenarios to use? Or should I just use a Zeus mission or something.

Im fucking dead
For context, we had to escort the truck across altis and tomoe decided he was going to do a hektic flanking maneuver
Fun fact, I do not drive this badly in real life but in real life there are three pedals on the floor.
Toad's Alcoholics anonymous meeting unearthed some disturbing facts.

Use comfy downtime on the server
What time do people usually play? and how does one use the comfy downtime?
Heh yeah. I thought downtime meant as in the server being down but no it's an actual thing...

Any time in the afternoon GMT. And to play comfy downtime you just join the server then spent 50 minutes at the arsenal box while someone makes a mission.
[editline]22nd December 2015[/editline]
But its not really scheduled, if enough people are up for playing arma just post in the thread and say you want to play some casual ops.
But yeah. Today was a fucking blast.
we did this:

Where tomoe nearly did a barrel roll into us.
Question, why are you guys using ACRE? I thought Taskforce radio was made by the ACRE for Arma 2 team? Is ACRE better?
I'd rather use TFAR to be honest.
It was simple and worked, we only had a few problems in the year or so we used it.
What did make us finally decide to switch over to ACRE?
And also, how do you do the thing where you bring up an action menu on yourself, to, for example, heal yourself?

CTRL + Windows key if you mean the ACE menu. Just windows key if its on someone else.
ACRE is cool. I can hear dead people. I just wish it stopped breaking so bad for no apparent reason. Also the UI could be better. If TFAR dropped the weird radio backpacks, had better directional sound, and I could hear dead people then I wouldn't mind switching back.

Constant bitching that TFAR Broke at the start of every second OP (Radio switching back to it's default frequency every second and everyone had a different frequency until Zeus Spawns a box with new fixed radios for people to take).
Due to this we had an open strawpoll in this thread where the majority of you guys voted for ACRE. So we did switch to ACRE.
I personally don't give a shit which ones we use.
Fuck radios, who needs them? Someone should make a Signal Flag mod.

Have 1 person go Zeus, Once in game, the Zeus goes into his interface and places down a Respawn marker on the map (It's under Modules -> Respawn -> Players (Blufor)).
After that, the people who spawn in the ocean (Or rather Coordinates [0,0,0]) can now respawn at the new marker. The Zeus then can scoop one of the Arsenal Crates from the Bottom left corner on the map (They are visible in the Zeus interface) and place them at the Spawn.
I have a newer version of this mission where you now spawn on the island (Or whatever map you play on) with an Arsenal Box automatically placed. Makes it a bit more convenient.
From here on, the Zeus basically sets up the scenario how he wants it to be.

This is very helpful thank you! Is there a way to play with zeus offline? I have never tried it before, would be fun to experiment

Absolutely.
The fastest way to try out Zeus if you don't already have a mission at hand is to simply go into the editor and do the following steps:
1. Place down a unit where you want to spawn. (First unit placed in editor will always be your player).
2. Go into Modules (F7) > Zeus, and select the Game Master module. Place that down somewhere on the map.
3. (Optional) Doubleclick on it, and look for a setting called "Unlocked Addons" or soemthing. it should have the Value "All official addons" by default. Change that to "All official addons And Unofficial Addons" (I don't exactly remember what it's called, but you'll know which one it is when you see it). This allows you to Use content from mods like CUP, RHS, etc...
4. Press the Preview button to hop into the game.
5. Press Y or Z Depending on the Keyboard to activate zeus in-game.
6. Have fun.
If you don't want to do this every time, you can also save the mission you did and load it every time you want to screw around with Zeus on your favorite maps.
