They published the old stamina system as a mod that people can use. And Yes I would love to see proper vehicle armour like what RAM did, it makes tankery actually fun insteaed of an all or nothing moment where getting hit once usually results in your death.
[t]https://my.mixtape.moe/xlcrqh.jpg[/t] Slots up tomorrow because everyone who can is asleep, but yeah 24/1/2016 [editline]19th January 2016[/editline] Other angles I didn't end up using but they look nice enough without the pseudo-monitor look.
Unlike the real thing which is practically unbeatable. http://www.combatreform.org/m113combat.htm
Those guys don't know what the fuck they're talking about. M113s, unlike modern MRAPS and APCs, were sitting ducks when it came to RPGs. They also couldn't protect against mines, which is why the troops who went out with them rode on top, rather than inside. Modern MRAPS, MTVs etc. might have the disadvantage of using wheels, but they actually protect against IED attacks. Instead of the guys inside losing limbs, taking shrapnel or just plain getting reduced to a pulp, we've been seeing shit like concussive injuries and broken limbs. That's still not good, but it demonstrates that the armor, unlike that on the M113, is actually doing its job. If I have to choose between either keeping my guys alive or giving them the (marginal) extra mobility provided by using tracks, I'll take bringing them back breathing and in one piece every time.
I heard 9 mil can penetrate m113s armor
Isn't this guy a laughing stock? And who tries to push the name Gavin onto the m113?
Oh shit, I think I've heard about this guy. Yeah, he's a total nutjob. Thinks the 113 is the best thing to happen to warfare since unitary cartridges. He's from the same school of thought as those old farts who think the M14 is superior in every aspect to the M16 family just because it's what they went through basic with.

You're all a group of egoistic army generals, you don't have the mental capacity to appreciate sparky's genius
Well, arma 3's vehicle damage model is bad I hope they overhaul it soon so penetration values are actually a thing, get rid of the HP system [editline]18th January 2016[/editline] Like, you can kill a main battle tank with a rifle if you shoot it enough [editline]18th January 2016[/editline] The worst thing about RHS was also the best thing, as ammunition had penetration values and behaved semi-realistically [editline]18th January 2016[/editline] Like, I don't even know why they made the AFM for helicopters, it's much more useless as only the most hardcore people use it, having a DLC which overhauled the armour system would have been much more useful
You can't kill a battle tank with a rifle, unless both the tank and the rifle are configured incorrectly. Depends largely on the caliber too. I wouldn't throw these around like facts, because they aren't. Arma 3 simulates penetration, but overall it does lean towards more the HP damage system. It's not as bad as you make it out to be because the individual modules are still very much damagable by autocannons and mines. I didn't feel anything different with the RHS system, except that one mission where I was escorting an Abrams tank and had to repair tracks often. I think they are considering some changes to armor, seeing as how small arms fire can't blow up cars anymore. The most fun I have ever had with vehicle fighting was in Red Orchestra where shots would often bounce, and if you score a hit then it's usually game over for the opposition. Only downside is that angling armor was too effective.
Arma armor system suffers from a lack of FUBAR state for vehicles. Ideally, you'd have the vehicles be unusable & unrepairable at 0 hull instead of instantly exploding and killing everything in a 10 meter radius.
There's also no actual HEAT system, HEAT weapons are just HE weapons that deliver a set amount of damage regardless of actual penetration level Also there might be penetration levels for KE ammo but those values are all out of wack, like 9mm being able to penetrate 20mm+ of steel My real problem with the whole system is the fact that the healthbar exists - I'd really prefer the onus to be shifted onto module damage. An M113, as discussed above, is just a box with an engine, what little explodable things it has in it are the fuel tank and boxes of fifty ammo that won't cause the entire vehicle to explode if they cook off. Ideally, only ammorack hits and fuel tanks would cause catastrophic explosions, not taking 20. 50 shots to a space that's completely empty apart from squishy infantry. It'd also be nice to have crew killed much easier [editline]19th January 2016[/editline] Also the fact that everything is rHA, there's no separate protection levels against HEAT and HE that would be conferred by composite armour which nearly every combat vehicle in A3 should have [editline]19th January 2016[/editline] I'd also like it if penetration values were separated from the rvmats and made into a separate LOD in the p3d, it would make configuring accurate armour so much easier [editline]19th January 2016[/editline] And probably easier as well because then we wouldn't need to rely on the hitpoint memory points in the p3d

The 10 meter kill radius was due to a bug, and that was a year ago. The intensivity of the burn radius scaled with the amount of players connected, but they fixed that, thank god.
I'm pretty sure it was even more than a year ago, it was definitely before ACE and most other mods.
first quarter of 2014 it was fixed iirc
It was when Rarooq's revive meant we have like 200 or so seconds to be saved before we all died in that hellish burning hell hole.

[t]https://my.mixtape.moe/xlcrqh.jpg[/t] https://fparma.herokuapp.com/events/event/co-freedom-east-sacred-gardens Tomoe's making a mission for us!
If it gets full, which I doubt there will be extra slots on the day. I doubt 40 people so whoever joins as reservist gets an MRAP of sorts to ride in.
Aw, no medic slots. Anything just to make me shoot things :v:
Wow man and I thought my canon for Al-Rayak had a lot of retarded names.
Wow man and I thought my canon for Al-Rayak had a lot of retarded names.
It's hard to do ey :v: Let's talk ideas although you should play with us more.
Aw, no medic slots. Anything just to make me shoot things :v:
Everyone can give Epi so I didn't see it as needed, the supplies will be there but if someone eats it all then whatever, retardation results in doom. [editline]19th January 2016[/editline] Platoon has a medic, but it's kind of for if everyone in a Section is dead or whatever.
It's hard to do ey :v: Let's talk ideas although you should play with us more.
I kind of want to get into making missions again. Didn't make one since... November, I think. And with CGYU wrapping up nicely lately I'll probably be able to pull shit out of my ass again/make a new canon that's not for Al-Rayak. [sp]And maybe try using Broma Mk3 Framework in an FP-built mission because entrusting everything on the ZGM triggers me[/sp]
Take me closer Driver, I wish to hit them with my pistol
RPG-7 archery. I actually really worry for how fragile the Warriors will be.
It'll either be an unbreakable beast in the vein of Challenger and Ridgback or it'll fall apart before reaching the battlefield ala Jackal and AAF-Warrior.
no comfy today?
Anyone have that video of an AN-2 in real life taking off and practically hovering in place? I remember someone posted it here.
