But it'd ruin the balance! Too many VDV spoil the mountain warfare mission.
I forgot to sign up, oh well, guess I'm skipping!
You can join in still. I'd give it 10 minutes or so after the mission start and you can steal someone's slot if they didn't show or they're cursed like fartparty.
Also some things be going wrong during testing. My crates are showing the default equipment and not what I gave to them in the editor.

wew lad
Maybe someone has another mission ready for the people who didn't manage to catch the sign-up timeframe?

Just add another squad and another platoon leader and have them do another objective or something, it's not hard dude, you're zeus anyways so you can adjust this shit on the fly
Perhaps rope in another zeus

I know for a fact we'll get extra people, people like luaduck and the new A3g guys, me and Tomoe didn't leave them out in the cold last mission, you shouldn't either
Well I was thinking about doing a Comfy Downtime a day or so before the op that affects things in the mission itself. I could include the first wave paratroopers that they'll be depending on how it goes.
The problem with this though is that the Russians don't have a light helicopter like the littlebird, so having a bunch of hips everywhere raining death would make the mission trivial. But if I just include squads and not new transports people are just going to be sitting in spawn waiting for the next helicopter run (and some might not come back)

Don't have rocket hips then, or don't add extra helicopters, they can make more than one lift in a mission
Well the Russians don't have any other transport helicopters except rocket hips.

Just use the CZDKZ hip then
It looks appropriately russian

I mean honestly I can do the part 2 to this campaign right afterwards. This mission is basically done other than the crates issue, and it isn't that complex of a mission. But if there were 2 full size missions back to back then that might fatigue people and the next mission won't be fully stocked.

Why not just add a second squad?!?!?!?
Jesus fucking christ just do it it's not hard you're making me tear my fucking hair out

Yeah I suppose, could possibly be mistaken for enemy though.
Also this isn't some huge terrain spanning mission. I designed this way before I even knew that the /a3g/ guys were joining us. It doesn't take place in that large of an area, it's just the north eastern sahrani mountains. Having 6 or more infantry squads is going to get really cramped. Adding more dudes doesn't work for every mission.
Mallow relax.
Design secondary objectives, have two different lines of attack, make them split up. There are many ways to make use of additional players.

Keep in mind this is the current AO. But since more people want to play I'll add a platoon of the buttfuck Sahrani loyalists holding a nearby town. Mallow will be the secondary Zeus for these doomed souls, he elected to.
Or you could create a secondary objective in a bay nearby that, if completed, cuts down on the resistance faced by the main force. Interesting stuff like that. :)
I was going to make that bay the site of a different mission. But the story behind this is the Sahranis are basically stuck inside the towns because of the Insurgents being so rampant. So them holding the towns isn't me being real lazy (I was planning on doing this for a Comfy Downtime anyway)

Ok here's what the flowover slots are going to look like. If it's absolutely shit for you I'm not to blame.

Alright, how do I make a game moderator?
[QUOTE=Destroyox;49601941]Man that mission gave me some ptsd, I know it gave Cloak lots too, considering his yelling during the Raspberry Road Ruination.
[editline]24th January 2016[/editline]
Also wow, in less than 24 hours all of the slots in my mission are filled up. These /a3g/ guys are good rank fillers. I'll make sure to make the next part of our glorious VDV campaign have more players.[/QUOTE]
my ptsd was completely legit
during the briefing i distinctly recall saying "raspberry road is an elevated highway into a defensive line, it's a complete deathtrap and kill zone
and i could hear my words echoing back to myself as the warrior in front of us and the warrior behind us got nuked to hell and we took a round
It was pretty clear that going down on Raspberry Road was a "commander's intent" kind of situation where we have to suck it up and roll with it because Tomoe thought it would be a fun place for engagements. You can kick and moan about it during and after the briefing all you want, but it was our destiny.

he said we had tactical freedom in that area goddamnit
[editline]25th January 2016[/editline]
imagine how many wheels we could have had
[editline]25th January 2016[/editline]
mission was great though, loved it
yeah for the record me and whitefox didn't want to go up on raspberry road

[QUOTE=DrSNAFU;49601846]Hey do you guys have a whitelist? There are some optional mods like DragonFyre Light I used to enjoy back in A3G.

L_ES, DynaSound, JSRS and HRP
[QUOTE=Cloak Raider;49602654]he said we had tactical freedom in that area goddamnit[/QUOTE]
I did try to get us moving. Part of the reason I told you to switch sides was to get the fuck out of that death trap from the array and it worked right up until that tank up and appeared.
In the end we did something right because our Warrior tanked fucking everything and didn't get fucked like a certain couple of dribblers
[QUOTE=Cloak Raider;49602636]and we took a round[/QUOTE]
I am still amazed that we survived a direct mortar hit, possible tank shell and two mines in the warrior. And the worst that happened to us was some bleeding and pain.
Then when we took over that Abrams the worst that happened was a shell bounce and then we wrecked around 10 enemy vehicles hard.
Raspberry Road was a pretty epic experience even if it was a death trap. Our squad was right next to our Warrior when it hit a mine.
Also saw multiple rockets fly by at close range which was rad.

My intent was to throw so much fire at you that it would force you to think quickly and head through the ruins, kind of worked.
[editline]25th January 2016[/editline]
Also I think you were hit with a Metis

the plan was always the ruins once we knew we had to get up on raspberry
and i wanted to avoid having the ifv's move in the forest due to physX
Also more slots were added to the mission for those who still want to play
sadly that OP was the last sunday OP i'm going to be able to do for a while, which is a shame
i'll be up for more CD though
Lemme guess, because of exams coming up? Same with me, this Sunday is an exception since the exam is on a Tuesday. All others are on Monday at 8 am. :suicide:
