Aye we're done there, sorry.
How do you get ACRE2 to work? I spent half the mission playing around with TS and the ingame radio trying to get my voice heard
holy fuck independent takistani are the most dangerous cunts alive
one guy with a lee enfield shot dead at least 3 people and proceeded to grenade a humvee
The authentic Northern Alliance experience.

if it's not working at all try booting TS in administrative mode

feedback plz
We don't have T-90's or BMP-3's :(
Thanks for the training mission guys, had fun as fuck first time playing with you :lick:
Also if I did a training comfy tomorrow what would you guys want it to be? Radios, Vehicle combat, transport loading/unloading or transports or something?
Radios radios radios radios radios
I'd love to learn how long range radio stuff in ACRE works
Tomorrow at 2pm EST or 7pm GMT we will cover radios and urban combat tomorrow! yey!

I can't read it.
When I'm zoomed out, the text is too small.
When I'm zoomed in, the text is too big.

Make an album with a front, diagonal, and side shot of each vehicle and its stats. Mini silhouettes would be nice too since most people tend to fuck up IDing at longer ranges.
Also tell people to make a difference between Hips and Hinds. One is a floating trooper pooper and the other is Grim Reaper with rotors.
Also you should cut the jokes that aren't really helpful.
Clank rover, gavin, etc.
Clank rover is demeaning to my culture and heritage, please remove bullying.
And please put a big red warning sign next to a picture of BMP-3 with instructions on how to run away safely.
And please put a big red warning sign next to a picture of BMP-3 with instructions on how to run away safely.
also do this for the MI-8MT/17, with the added warning that it flies like a fucking building and will sooner land on Taggart's head or try to fight trees than it will land safely
Didn't stop the A3G guys from flying it perfectly well last mission.
It sure stopped Taggart though.
With all of this about training, I though I might drop a video of a training session /a3g/ did a while ago. Its about two hours and very dry, but may be useful to listen to in the background while you browse the internet or something. It also may be worthwhile to record your training ops, for people who couldn't make it and for archival purposes.

Also, here is the /a3g/ youtube channel, that I don't think is active/maintained anymore, that has some informational videos that are still up to date and might be worth watching.

EDIT:
Looks like there is a more recent training video that has time codes for various topics, so you can jump to sections that you want to view.

I might be one of the only ones, but I want to give Ace advanced medical another shot. If we are able to make medical tents and FOB's fully heal people, we could actually use ambulances and medevac helos, and personally I'd love to do that.
[editline]1st February 2016[/editline]
And if it's enabled, we can go over it in training and teach everyone how to use it.
@kaukassus considering the server itself and his client portion needs multiple cores
(yes we do have parallelized code for both client and server too)
then I'm quite sure you already could run into issues with not enough cpu time on some tasks
(1 server process + 4 hc processes == way too many threads demanding primary core IPC power even for native 6-core )
also remember HC units are still within the simulation sandbox,
so they eat some performance on clients and on dedicated server too !
also they need MP sync (with sever which syncs it to clients) so that's another performance ceiling to consider
hence that's why HC can't be used to infinitely inflate AI numbers, just to certain degree

Having to manage your heart rate with morphine and epi is really annoying. It also broke a lot last time we used it.

According to some of the A3g guys that's been fixed. There isn't anything wrong with giving it another try, right?
Evel Knievel can't touch this shit.

What's annoying about it ? You have 3 different shots to manage pain and heart rate + 3 types of fluids that do pretty much the same thing. It's really self-explanatory and the only reason it didn't work in the one session we used it is because the settings were fucked.
Mallow, ask Cuel if he would be kind enough to host target identification on the fparma site. Compile more info, keep it on point (used by faction X, vulnerable to X, threat level, indicative of X, etc), and get better screenshots where the vehicles are lit on the visible sides. Optimally Cuel could put together a minimalistic style for this so you can drop the one big picture format. Or make a pdf.

Getting your legs broken where you can only walk is pretty annoying. Now, we could evac said person, but that takes time, especially if the medic team already has their hands full.

I personally like some of the features it adds, medevac vehicles and hospitals, but I feel like it's a bit too much simulation wise. I really wish there was some sort of compromise between the two.

I'm for the most part aware of the Diminishing returns, which seem to hit hard after more than 1 HC.
This may be amplified due to the Fact that it's running on a VM which shares a few resources with ~10 other VM's (Sharing a Resource pool of 12 Cores and 23GB RAM).
Thus CPU Scheduler was my main concern in this case.
I mainly did this test for various reasons:
1. To test and see how much CPU Usage I can get on the system just with an Arma Server, a few headless clients and liberal use of AI.
2. To test what kind of difference an overkill amount of AI makes compared to 1 single HC.
3. To test how much influence a VM that peaks at 100% has on my Hypervisor and the other VM's it runs.
From what I saw, 1 Server + 1 HC makes the biggest difference and is a safe bet. 2 HC's can work but I can't see it working in every case. More than that is a waste.
I could have doubled the amount of cores and RAM (12 Cores @ 20GB RAM) allocated to the Arma VM, but that would be kind of silly.
I was quite surprised at the evenly spread CPU Usage when there's a lot of AI going on even with only 1 HC.

You can make it so PAKs can be used anywhere if you don't wanna deal with medevacs, the whole thing can be as casual as you want it to be.
Also ACE doesn't have proper fall damage so someone will fall off a ladder and have 1000 crushing wounds all over their body. This is also an issue in Basic medical but it's not as severe.
Again, PAKs can be used anywhere as many times as you want depending on mission settings. In basic you'd need to tediously spend 3 minutes and 30 bandages to get that guy up. In advanced you would medevac him or just use a PAK.
If you think basic is any fun, you should try playing medic more often.
Also ACE doesn't have proper fall damage so someone will fall off a ladder and have 1000 crushing wounds all over their body. This is also an issue in Basic medical but it's not as severe.
