I personally don't use it as a definitive "oh yes this will do" thing, it's just a general outline. It puts my specs next to the games requirements. I can figure out myself if it'll work or not.

Not to brag but I've never been at a point in life where I was worried my computer would be able to run something. Guess it's because I do a ton of graphic/3D work for my job so I always need to be up to date.

Yeah. I usually upgrade my whole system save the case, about every 2 or 3 years.

It's a bit of money but I can usually find friends who want the old stuff. The i7 and 680gtx 4gb I have should last a bit longer though. 16 GB of ram is okay, but my work computer in the office has 64 gb. (good for after effects)
