Searched around a bit, look what I found.

The area I started in was all weird, low poly models, low quality textures, looked a bit like Skyrim. (The area, not the quality)

I found that on my first play through. If you build there you will only meet one guy and if you kill him you can literally go for about 7 days without seeing any monsters. I suppose the game might change up patrols for you but for me it was a great place to build.
Also I like how the planes body spawns in a random place each time. The cockpit always spawns in the same place most likely because of the guy in the chair.
Did the mutants stop spawning after a couple of days for anyone else?
I went exploring a little bit and couldn't find a single one.
That sounds really creepy.
Yeah, I found 2 mutants when I started, lured them into my campfire and then didn't see any after that. I built a log cabin and after 10 days of not seeing any I jumped off a cliff
I did find that you can duplicate bodyparts just by picking them up really fast, I had like 100 limbs scattered around my camp
That's right, if you don't want a messy unfinished product then you do not buy games in alpha stage. Simple as that.
This is what confuses me. Everyone gets mad at pretty much every game in Alpha stage, but what constitutes a good alpha? I can't think of any that either weren't really buggy on release or had next to no content. They need to change the Early Access description to something more blunt, like "If you can't handle game breaking bugs or other severe potential issues, don't buy early access."

No fucking way!
Guys, this is just version 0.01. Think about all the updates and new features before it gets to 1.00.
Incredible, my hype has been satisfied.
The highlight of my experience in The Forest:

The birds add comedy to an island of cannibal psychopaths.

You say that like the game generates a map?
It randomises your spawn (crash) location at the very least.
You say that like the game generates a map?
the plane crashes at random spots, but i think the map is always the same, unless they have it generating one.
It'd be cool if they made it generate(not played the game) but I guess if you play it so much you'll know the layout and know where caves and everything is and get bored.
How do you open the locked backpacks? And why are there no fish?
How do you open the locked backpacks?
Hit them with the axe.
Went scouting around the coast for secrets and found this cave

Which held a number of mutants i've never seen before, they hunched down like frogs and had a purple coloration
jk it's a hole through the world :(
Let's imagine it's possible to spot a huge super mutant when all the cannibals are no where to be found in a while, colossal sized, knocking forests down just by its height. Oblivious to the fact it's causing destruction, you can't even put it down. Your only worry is that it won't combat you. It's like an ancient coming out of it's long nap for a stroll then to sleep again for a long time.
Sure it's a bit silly but the concept freaks me out if there were deeper caves.
It randomises your spawn (crash) location at the very least.
I think it picks from certain crash spots. I've spawned in the same spot twice

This game has an insane amount of potential, hopefully they don't fuck it up and it might become one of my favourite survival games.

let's just not get our hopes up too much, remember towns and cube world?
Sunk about 5 hours into it so far, and the game has a lot of potential, but is obviously pretty rife with bugs, some of which are pretty game breaking, which is understandable. Because it's Unity, it suffers from the same lighting issues that most Unity games are plagued by, and a good deal of the models have poor specularity mapping, making a majority of them appear almost plastic; some lighting problems don't help that problem either. Visually, the flora is pretty decent, but when looking at many models, it definitely feels like I'm playing a Unity game, which is unfortunate.
Don't buy the game unless you really want to support the developers though, really not enough content to justify the purchase until more options for crafting come into play so that there is a bit more in the way of making self-enforced goals to reach when playing. After my second playthrough, I found out how over powered molotovs are, and managed to kill off most of the mutants on the island. Didn't run into any for a few nights and ended up, because of lack of save features, closing out of the game.
Suitcases will restock with supplies, small plants will regrow, and animals will spawn near fires and construction pieces, so there really aren't limited resources quite yet. Most models have no collision boxes, which is strange because collision boxes are a part of the model-making process, not the game-making process, so it seems a majority of the models will be replaced. The AI is probably the game's strongsuit, but because of the current limitations of the terrain, you can outsmart AI by crouching, especially at night, or by swimming into water, as they cannot swim and just walk along the sea-floor.
Buy it if you have $15 to waste and want a few hours of fun, else, wait a few weeks for more polished releases with some extra features. For most people, I'd recommend not purchasing it at all right now.
I wish you could eat mutant limbs and take down their warning posts and take the sticks and body parts from them.
Also, is it just me, or are sticks hard to find?

Cut small trees.

Pretty much every small wooded plant drops a couple sticks, and thinner trees drop a pretty large amount.
If you dual wield axes you get twice the resources from trees and shit

Uhm Cube World is still going the creator has been showing off the new content on his twitter recently. There is a new questing system and animals and biomes and all sorts of stuff.
The creator has always showed off stuff then said nothing for a long time it is just how he works. He is just not that great on the communication side of things that is all.
Hell he released a dev blog this month. Here is the latest dev blog on the questing system from this month.

At the same camp there are two bodies held together by the neck by tennis rackets. I thought it looked worse than the body shown above.
I can't even buy the Game and the extra copy's for the raffle because something is wrong on "The Forest" side that is what Paypal is telling me is that they're having issue and it isn't my Paypal.

No idea on the backpacks, but there are fish in the ponds scattered around the island.
Is it possible to take down stuff you've already built yet?
Fish spawn everywhere here I am fishing by the ocean.
