I wonder how large/grotesque the hardest enemy in the game will be.
The big dude with multiple arms doesn't freak me out that much, but man those things that look like 2 people fused from their backs look creepy.

Get us a screengrab will ya?
20. Can you accidentally trigger your own traps?
Eventually you'll be able to, although it's not implemented yet. We think it would be really fun and scary to get caught in your own rope trap. There are some physics and control issues to sort out, but hopefully we can get it working smoothly.

oh man reading this got me thinking about I Am Legend.
I've always wanted a game similar to that where you have to survive and hide, this is the closest thing as of right now. Maybe eventually they can work on an urban variant of this game.
I can't even
Is the map randomly generated?
Is the map randomly generated?
It's something that they want to add, but for now it isn't.

nothing with this many arms should have a family.
This is some Lovecraftian shit right there
if this game is done right, ill probably play it forever.
Trust me, i still play gta iv.
I'm still blown away that this is made in goddamn UNITY engine.
I'm still blown away that this is made in goddamn UNITY engine.
Only thing i like about unity is that its like a framework
if you have the knowledge you can turn it into a fucking next gen machine
The OST of the trailers will be released too c:
I am so god damn hyped for this.
Anyone here ever played the Stranded series?
Although the graphics looked like a cartoon, it was incredibly fun.
And now this.. This looks kick ass.
Loving the fact that the devs are including a houseboat (background of trailer 2, :35) in this as not only a home but as transportation. I've been wondering how they're going to make it so people who chose to hide also have options of base building, they said that the tribesman would try and destroy your structures, so does that mean that if you play stealthily that you won't be able to settle down and avoid confrontation?
also i think that amount of mutants at daylight and destruction was just to show off in the trailer.
This has a potential to be game of the year. I just hope they didn't show everything you can do in the trailers and have a large amount of content in game that we didn't see.
Seriously hyped about this game, I've never been this hyped since San Andreas was announced.
The concept they have going here is really great, they have so much possibilities on expanding that with generated content and such. I hope they turn this into a game that you always can play.
God, just from the trailers it sets a really creepy atmosphere.
Flying on a plane as the power goes out during an intense thunder storm, everyone on the plane in dead silence as they glide through the rain and finally crash. Your kid is missing, as are most of the passengers.. those scenes are the really unnerving ones to me. The quiet cabin of the airplane, no lights, no one is crying or screaming, it's just this plane full of people who have basically accepted their fate gliding to their doom at the mercy of the storm.
Than in the trailers you see all these reminders of the crash and the fact you weren't alone. You can see a tourist's camera lodged into the mouth of a fresh skull, the bodies of dozen of passengers hanging from the cave ceiling, a tribesman wearing a necklace made of CD's, a man wearing a polo and shorts decapitated in the cave entrance and all these other really, really creepy artifacts from the wreck.
I can only imagine with an Oculus Rift, experiencing the game for the first time how it would effect you.
Daayumm, I really wanted to experience this for the first time using the Rift CV1 but that chit is too far away
This game looks so cool. I'd like to see more of the building/crafting, though. At the moment from the trailer it looks like a simple "place wall on grid" kinda thing, I hope there's a bit more freedom/it's a little more intricate.
Oculus Rift and a decent set of headphones would make this game a hundred times better.

To be honest, Alpha is being released in May, and with the amount of time most Early Access games stay in Early Access these days, the full version of this and the CV1 Rift might not even be that far apart. Remember: CV1 Rift is still due for release somewhere this year.
The only problem I can see with this is going to be if cnn or fox gets a hold of it and relates it to the recent Malaysia airline that went missing (since you start on a plane). Let's hope that doesn't happen.

how would they do that
how would they do that
Game titled 'The Forest' brings the horrors of a missing plane to life
Not too long ago a Malaysia airline went missing, what potential horrors did the passengers have to face? Potential cannibalistic tribes people on a deserted island could be a possibility, 'The Forest' shows that fear the passengers may have had after the crash.
[sp] Idk where im going with this [/sp]
It's just an indie game, it won't get that kind of attention. The game sounds cool and I'll buy it, but I didn't even know what it was till like a month ago. :v:

An indie game can still get three fucktons of attention. Starbound is a good example.
I'm friends with a lot of big LP-channels whom plan to play the game when it comes out, like PewDiePie and possibly Mangaminx. Both of them are excited for it, and given that kind of exposure the game will become huge.
Assuming it doesn't suck. Doubtful of that though.

Would like to know how this post is dumb.
[editline]oh[/editline]
I've been informed I said this wrong
I meant to say

Thank you, Biscuit-Boy <3
There was talk about how a map system would work.
Honestly I think it would be pretty cool if one of the main caves/tunnels the tribe people live in, if you clear it out, part of the wall has a cave drawing of the island.
That way you could build a little shack outside the base to hide in and check it out to see where you want to go next.
I don't know if other tribe people will scout the cave out even after you clear it, but it would be pretty cool to be hiding and watch them see if you're living in that cave.
