lets make our own team all of facepunch were allowed as many players as the hero pool is wide
Can I be in the fp team? I'm a solid 3.5k player!
I'm a 8.6K player but my smurf is at 4K, make me team captain
note guys: GGA (the parent company of EG and Alliance) just went under so who knows what could be goign on behind the scenes. just wait until the real announcements are out from the teams. kinda funny though

It seems like GGA is shutting down and all the teams are going with it? So we're going to lose one of the biggest, longest running NA eSports orgs?
https://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/4zvshs/is_something_happening_to_gga/ Yeah its being shut down dotagasm tweeted that alliance will have only 2 of the old member returning
Can I join? I'm a T6 battleshit winner.
e-sports in general pisses me off with this shit. 'Oh man, we placed third in the major tournament despite being a brand new team, hopefully with time to grow we'll do even better next yea- oh naw nvm I guess we're all getting replaced instantly'
Man I love it when all my dota friends unfriend and block me for no reason and won't tell me why and then i go and play a pub game and the luna starts feeding on purpose cause i took one fucking last hit http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/2604331379 what's the fucking point
So the group of friends me and my brother(mrdestroyer) play with just dropped us for no reason other than I assume they want to become professional by only playing ranked all day? So im looking for some people looking to have some casual fun games and some ranked play every now and then. This is my dota buff: http://www.dotabuff.com/players/68246391 I know im shit tier but I really enjoy dota and its the best game I have every played. I used to be 2k but I started eating shit in ranked got to 1.8k during the international ranked. will any kind soul on fp pick my pleb ass up :,)?
So assuredly the last battle cup and we lost the second game because someone needed to reconnect but the Peruvian trash on the other team unpaused and calls us English Breathers and proceeds to shit on us. When we paused, because it's battle cup, we assumed it'd be ok to go take a bathroom break while we wait for our team member to reconnect so when they unpaused we got wiped. The last one and these fucking SA inbreds ruin it because they can't handle losing.

This is why I stopped playing Dota and now just watch pro games whenever a good tournament is on. Dota is fucking stressful yo. It's stressful to play, stressful to get better at, stressful to dedicate inordinate amount of time to. I genuinely don't know how I kept playing Dota and other games like it for nine fucking years. At this point I'd rather just dedicate my time to games I like to think I'm actually good at, and take less of an emotional toll.
Probably because it's a massive time investment and when someone fucks up and it leads to a loss, that is a complete waste of your time.
7 More wins till I finally acquire a 50% winrate. It's so close I can almost taste it.
But we're all going into this game knowing we cant win them all. I think people who treat losses as wastes of time just dont have anything to gain for a game where youre expected to lose half of them. So if you have 4k hours in dota, 2k of that was waste? I'm not saying to just win every game or stop playing but losses should really be expected. You can learn from them and that leads to being matched against stronger opponents if you win more, meaning you learn even more from any inevitable losses. a very low percent of losses are actual wastes of time
I also think Dota is a harder game to learn from losses because they can come from things that are not even your fault. Carry didn't farm enough? Stupid initiation? Low to no wards? Bad itemization? Refusal to communicate? Not every factor of a loss comes from the single person playing with four others so if someone looks back on all of your games, "you" might not even be the reason the game went bad. It's one thing to have losses from "game was close, we tried our best, they were better" but most losses seem to come from "why the fuck did Slark build a Vanguard first". On a personal note, I've never had a 50% win ratio in Dota so I don't even know what it feels like to win half my games.
Turns out my friend's friend got on his account and deleted all of his friends so all's good in the dota hood fuck feeders though
and lets not forget the complex that the "someone" fucking it up always you just as much as it is everyone else i dont understand why every dota player thinks theyre right and others are wrong?? why is it that a majority of players are like this and not a minority. like if your teammate fucks up, you ping them and flame them and message your streamfriends saying UGHHH! I HATE DOTA! EVERYONE IS SO BAD! yeah well maybe they just made a mistake, maybe fucking support your team whenever something bad happens instead of just whining about it again i reiterate; everyone across the world, who has their own lives and are just as human as you, are just as likely to make mistakes as you are. nobody should ever act priveleged in this game in fact, just last night i had a magnus who was upset with my lack of ability to solo support against a riki (cause you know, his first pick random reroll that pretty much fucked our lineup by forcing us to offlane a magnus against a tb/shadow shaman), so he proceeded to tell me how i was "mad" and attempted to berate me so i just muted him. later in the game i can still see him pinging me as hes intentionally coming ot my camps to take last hits when im trying to farm up a few wards, and ofcourse we lost massively in the end because when you look at this shit you think this isnt a fucking game. this is what dota 2 is, but its not what it should be. why the fuck cant people queue a server and just make a few friends for an hour and just be nice? i dont know, and i know its not gonna change any time soon but hey ive nobody else to discuss this with
Yeah, except when you try to be civil with some, or even most people, in game ("hey maybe you shouldn't build Butterfly first on Spec, Manta and Diffusal are pretty good") then you get the finger from then and spend the rest of the game in turmoil with that person. It's one thing to be an asshole out of the gate but it's another when you're trying to not be and actually give out some good advice to help your team win and it's just thrown back into your face. Which happens a lot. I will fuck up, I have fucked up, and I will admit it and feel terrible about it for the rest of the day but very rarely does that actually get the benevolence of the random pub. Hell, I've been harrassed to the point where I punched a hole through my closet door back in like 2011 and I already knew I fucked up but they just kept pushing. Getting the forgiveness of a pub has happened once in my 2000 games of Dota and ya know what happened? We actually won that game and it was fucking amazing but it has literally never happened again. And I'd love it if every game of Dota I played I didn't run into difficult people because, you're right, that isn't what Dota should be but for some God forsaken reason that is what Dota ended up being and the community itself isn't going to change that any time soon. I just don't want to deal with it so I stopped. E: Some words.
Turns out my friend's friend got on his account and deleted all of his friends so all's good in the dota hood fuck feeders though
This applys to my post as well but still it would be nice to learn new play styles of other players im not used to playing with. I want to play pubs with people that arnt from peru or some south american country on US EAST, communication wins games.
This reaches a pretty good resolve too. If you lose after that situation you dont even need to say anything, because you know it was your carries choice to build stupid shit, so when they get destroyed later and cant fight for shit, you know who is to blame. i know that doesnt prevent a loss in a situation like that (im aware you won your game) but in those situations at least you know it isnt really your problem, so you dont need to worry about that player at all. you know exactly whats happened; someones refused to listen to you, then performed poorly. pretty straight forward and the best part about knowing a problem like that is so obvious is that its that much easier to focus on the less obvious stuff
At the end of the day, I just wanna win some Dotes. I don't think that is the loftiest of goals. I just want my 50.01% win ratio I've never had. Unless I've done something blatantly, obviously wrong I don't really know what less obvious stuff I can do for myself as a player to win more games.
50.01% winrate is nothing special
It isn't, but I've never has a positive win ratio in the first place so it would be good enough for me.
[A]lliance is over...? Hello darkness my old friend...
all these roster changes are making my head hurt
EG Alliance old players merger ¿
EG.M
Damn, can't believe my boys in blue disbanded due to internal troubles. Doubly so since they were 3rd place on TI6.
You guys need to do what I do Be naturally good so you don't have to focus so much on the game and get angry [editline]28th August 2016[/editline]
Probably because it's a massive time investment and when someone fucks up and it leads to a loss, that is a complete waste of your time.
You learn more from losses, usually [editline]28th August 2016[/editline]
I also think Dota is a harder game to learn from losses because they can come from things that are not even your fault. You can always improve. It may not be why you lost but you can always look for mistakes
As an example, if you have a retarded dumbfuck dying a dozen times in the off lane at the 10 min mark, instead of getting angry at him, get angry at his dumb ass while figuring out how you could have prevented this. It is always preventable unless he is outright feeding, which never actually happens for a regular person whose goal was to win the game. If you don't have the awareness and know-how to figure out how to help him in the game itself, watch the replay and look for blatant openings where something could have been done. Feel free to get as angry as you wish while hating every single person in the match, but don't say a word in chat if the goal is to win the game.
What's the go to item build for necro? Is it veil then eblade? Should he be a mid or offlaner?
