If you play Treant like an aggressive Bounty Hunter with levels in Nature's Guise and Leech Seed you can dominate early game (provided you have allied heroes with early kill potential). Being able to plant wards without being spotted works wonders too like a roaming Riki.
The only thing you and your team have to work around is that you're likely only going to have level 1 Living Armor for a while to prevent deaths and you'll need a pos5 helping out with supporting (in which case you tell your team to stop being reliant on you to save their asses).
he's the only hero in the game that can heal buildings, I think that qualifies as unique
I suppose his recent buff gives him more viability, since the heal bonus effectively condenses five casts worth of regen into four, which allows that extra cast to go elsewhere like healing allies.
Thing about Treant is why pick him when you can pick heroes with better roaming (Night Stalker, Bounty Hunter, Riki, Ogre) or better defensive spells (Grave, False Promise). While the tower healing thing is nice and novel, it's also really bad in an illusion-heavy meta because there's a lot of illusion tower chipping and pushing and the heal does not do well in this scenario.
I mean I'm sure there's probably even more I don't know about that's wrong with the hero but there's a reason why a hero doesn't get picked in a TI when there's only five heroes left unpicked.

Honestly forgot about that because I haven't played the hero since before the changes to int and base mana.
[editline]5th September 2016[/editline]
Honestly the hero needs slightly higher base armor. 1 armor is pathetically low for a melee support/roamer
Another reason Treant is bad is because Overgrowth isn't really that great in comparison to every other initiation ability you could chose. You can still use spells while in it, it can be purged off, it can be BKB'd off, it doesn't do any damage, and he doesn't have any personal synergy to make it better. Sand King has Burrowstrike, Magnus has Skewer, Earthshaker has Fissure and Enchant Totem, Dark Seer has Vacuum, Clockwork has Cogs, Centaur has Hoof Stomp, etc. etc. Treant drops Overgrowth and then just casts Leech Seed and looks at people funny.
I did it. I finally reached [sp]3.6k[/sp]. Took me way longer that it should have.
Highlight of my game yesterday http://www.jist.tv/watch?v=IoUOv4mn0Bg2MPCj
I probably could have got away faster but I was laughing too much :v:
Treant needs a new spell that synergizes with his ult tbh
Treant needs more base damage
Treant needs more base damage
The 6 moonshard build is too weak he needs more str scaling
"Treant is a shit hero"

What's your MMR? I bet you're not even 5k...
What's your MMR? I bet you're not even 5k...
I've seen a 5k in a game once and I can confirm that it doesn't look 5k.
I am amazed that we won this game: http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/2625035392

you had more carries and no-one at your MMR knows how to end games when they're ahead
The higher MMR I climb, the more obvious my mistakes become.
It's like I'm becoming self aware.

I think it should be necessary for every Dota 2 player to watch an Arteezy stream at least once
I've learned so much from just watching him such as item builds and adapting them toward your situation in the game, how to gank properly, last hitting, creep aggro, and how to babyrage properly
I know it's a bit of a stretch but what if Overgrow spread Leech Seed to all affected units the way Magnetize spreads all of Earth Spirit's disables?
[editline]6th September 2016[/editline]
you'd have to wait until the last second to get the most out of the slow, but the healing would be massive, maybe even too much
you had more carries and no-one at your MMR knows how to end games when they're ahead
Idk what MMR he's at but I'm ~3K and I can confirm that most the time when we win fights, people just go back to farm in the jungle or to the base to regen.
you can learn these things from lots of streamers though
Well arteezy is the most entertaining to watch while learning

he's 1.8k or something like that

That would have to be an aghs upgrade but even thrn it'd if it's worth more than eyes
An aoe root that pierces bkb with a slow attached and healing and damage would be a fucking disgusting skill if it wasn't aghs
Overgrow:
Roots all enemy units in target area, preventing movement, attacking and escape abilities. Applies Leech Seed on all enemy heroes hit, applying half slow, dealing half damage and causing each enemy to heal only the closest allied hero (rather than all nearby units)
Could that work? That way it'd be up to 30 dmg/heal per second for 6 seconds, which wouldn't be a ton but it'd be enough to heal up all allies a bit or a single ally quite a bit more.
What's your MMR? I bet you're not even 5k...
I'm 6K NA = 4.5K EU
Sorry I had to
Treant should be able to make permanent trees, but make it so his trees can't be too close together to prevent blocking.
Today I learned Kunkka's ghostship apparently does not stun through magic immunity, I also can't find any verification on if it ever did. Where from did I get this idea?
I believe I'm starting to make my way out of the trench finally.
In just one day I've raised my mmr from 1559 to 1632
yeah, i dunno why anyone here posts their opinions. theyre all clearly wrong

Today I learned Kunkka's ghostship apparently does not stun through magic immunity, I also can't find any verification on if it ever did. Where from did I get this idea?
typically most ults that are disables have their disables peirce spell immunity even when their damage is completely blocked
even besides the well-known bkb-piercers like Fiend's Grip and Primal Roar, the stun or mini stun from Reaper's Scythe and Mana Void also go through spell immunity so it's not much of a stretch to just assume it would go through just because it's an ultimate ability, especially considering the setup required to do so
[editline]6th September 2016[/editline]
Considering your setup abilities don't pierce spell immunity and it's only a 1.4 second stun I honestly think sometimes that it should pierce spell immunity
