Dota 2 General Chat XXXII - 6.88 will make the ancient summon robot miners and TPs will be free

I honestly hate when my team has the best early game ever, we even transition well into Mid-Game and take all there Tier 1's and 2's, only for them to just suddenly stop and afk-farm lanes and retreat once they gets too close to Tier 3's. Then the enemy carries come out fat and wipe the floor and my team goes "o shit, wut happened?". This is how at least a decent percent of my losses go. Can I also get tips on how to coupe with excessive losing? Because it's making me Toxic and I am not that kind of person.

Jacky Mao, this is not a team of "relatively unknown players" at all.
EE and MSS even linked their MyAnimeList profiles lmao.
Kinda new to dota, I've got a few questions.
What should my average GPM be for a new player, and how rare are "very" rare items in chests? That 40K doom set looks cool af.
I don't have exact numbers, but I'd assume "Rare" items have like 5-4% chance to drop, "Very Rare" might have 3-1% or so and "Extremely Rare" ones probably have < 0.5%
The chance for rare items to drop increases with each chest opening, but again I think the base chance is increased only by like 5-10% per chest with no rare (so a 3% chance goes to 3.3% chance on chest number two)
Basically never expect to actually get the rare things unless you blow a fuckton of money on them, only buy the treasures if you like the non-rare ones. You might get lucky, but you probably won't.
Is the MMR System fully broken?
I play at 2100 MMR, and sometimes we get matched with 2,9k MMR mates and sometimes they really suck, like they were boosted.
I have a friend who has 3k hours in dota, he is unbelievably garbage and is literally getting worse with time, he would certainly qualify straight into 3-4k so you should expect awful people around there.
That said, if you're queueing in a party you sometimes get matched with people 2k mmr above you, mostly when queueing at like 5 am but sometimes earlier too, at least that's my experience.
So I managed to rebound from my loss streak

perhaps a bit too much
I've never quite noticed it before, but I am truly disgusted by Pudge's design. I mean its at the point where I really don't pay attention to it and look past it, but when I focus on it, the design is pretty sickening. Which means that the design board has done their job just right.
Also, yesterday I accidentally said "You don't have the sand!" in response to a guy's "threat". He just looked at me in a way that just asks what does that even mean? I was thinking about too many things along with my response to it.
All those names are on the verge of irrelevancy, they're backed against a wall.

That team is probably several peoples last shot at being on a top tier Dota team.
I know it's true but god damn is it depressing to see a TI winner in that position.
Why/How did Aui2000 get irrelevant so quickly?
Just curious
Can someone tell me why offlane slardar is good?
He gets reasonably quick Lvl 6 and Blink which means he can kill people and start fights plus he can build a lot of utility & initiation items instead of having to worry about damage as much.

He got booted from EG immediatly after TI5. PPD said he was a real point of stress for the team. He said he was tilting even during the grand finals games in the booth. Then he got brought back onto the team for a period of time, this time as a #1 instead of a #4, putting Fear on the #4 spot. They did nothing under this setup and kicked him again. Then he went to coach Secret and we all know how well that turned out.

Why would I pick him over a similar hero, like Centaur?
Why would I pick him over a similar hero, like Centaur?
Because in addition to the AOE stun he has the -armour + true sight utility.
This also helps you Rosh much better.
Slardar is a hero that excels as soon as he has his ultimate and his blink dagger, he hardly scales at that point beyond bkb or armlet, which is why you don't want to waste the mid or safe lane on him, but instead want to give him just a bit of farm so that he may get one item and a few levels.
The reason he is more popular than centaur is that centaur has purely magic damage in a world where magic damage isn't as strong as it used to be, he also has severe mana problems and unlike Slardar his free movespeed boost is an ultimate so he can't use it during the laning stage or for lesser situations where there's a 10% chance of netting you a kill. Slardar can also transition into a semicarry more properly since he has a bash, and Slardar can do a lot more in a fight after blinking in and using his stun. Slardar's stun also has a lower cast animation and I believe it even has a larger radius, and of course it deals more damage when combined with his ultimate, far better than hoof stomp + double edge since you got right clicks.
Most importantly; Slardar's ultimate is extremely potent particularly in the early game, particularly when combined with any sort of physical damage (which tends to happen), but even if not it makes a Slardar with zero items hit like a truck. It can also be used to farm fast and to kill Roshan fast, and it even gives vision. Very good spell.
A minor point too is that heroes are more mobile now than in the past, rendering the teamwide 522 movespeed of centaur less crucial than it was. A lot of heroes have gotten large or small base movespeed buffs, blink dagger is picked up on half the heroes in any given game, and there's even hurricane pike on several ranged cores now, in addition to supports overall getting more gold thus more force staffs on average. Finally, centaur's passive triggering on hit instead of on start of animation is also not so good.
What gives him survivability in the solo offlane though? My hero pool is pretty situated for the offlane and I'm told he's meta, so I'd like to understand why he's picked there, but he just doesn't feel like a strong solo offlane hero to me.
I've been playing him for a few games in the offlane and every time I die, I just get told to jungle. At that point I just ask myself why do I even play this hero?
While EE is aN amazing player, but he still manages to completely throw games consistently.
Why anyone joins teams with him is beyond me
like wow. 1437 and aui were both coaching during TI, and SVG and MSS only lost their teams recently while being some of the best players in NA. can you talk like you at least know something
[editline]9th September 2016[/editline]
everytime this thread talks about EE like theyre some high level spectator with indepth game analysis when they barely can reach beyond twitch chat levels, its really depresing
it's really weird to me that slithereen crush is allowed to be so much better than hoof stomp. like if you look at the numbers the difference is pretty ridiculous

im doing it lads
im getting out of 1k
why do I keep hearing that my GPM should be 600+?
Guess that's what I'm gonna have to strive for
why do I keep hearing that my GPM should be 600+?

i think its because 600 gpm as a carry gets you a lot of your items quickly for the mid game
the more the better
[editline]10th September 2016[/editline]
like i think 600 gpm gets you a sub 20 min battle fury on juggernaut or something right?
Centaur just can't really lane anymore. He has no way to escape other than a melee range stun he can use once for a good part of the static laning phase because of the super high mana cost. I also don't understand why they keep buffing the Double Edge cooldown time since he can't spam it while the damage is relevant because he just kills himself with it.
Did they make the golden BZZ set/Rares tradable by any chance? (or anything from that Benefactor chest) and if so what's the unlock date?

if centaur has too much damage on his double nuke kit, or if stomp became almost impossible to dodge he could become pretty overbearing
i think some better base armor is all the hero needs
i do wish centaur was played more i love his voice, him and od are my favorites probably
both also have cool lores

turbo charge his strength gain.
turbo charge his strength gain.
5.1 strength gain

do it the icefrog way and give him +5 movespeed
Centaur isn't that good? I play him a lot and he seems to be pretty fun
Solo support vs a techies + having a terrible team full of peruvians or whatever the fuck they were. They said "bobo" a lot.
