You can at least counter pick timber. You really can't do shit when the enemy team pulls the 5 ranged hero drow strat bullshit and even the supports hit for 150 dmg 15 mins into the game.

This is why in most games, I almost never listen to what the popular balance opinion is anymore (except in the extreme cases where it's obvious) because 9/10 it's usually people who would rather complain about thing being too strong rather then thinking of ways to counter it.

Oh for those of you who care about custom games, I wouldn't recommend playing imba if you also care about morals. The creator of IMBA (firetoad) decided to go full retard and code in a ban that prevents people from playing if they're with a specific individual.

What the code does is forces the game to end, tells all players to disconnect, and shames the banned user with a message. Unless he gets a new steam account, he is unable to play that custom gamemode.

tl;dw The creator of Imba started a patreon to get paid for his work, Baumi pointed out that it's not worth paying for and the creator got offended. Later in a video, Baumi make a joke about how he's a lazy sellout, and he took offense to that. The creator then coded a ban and made a really fucked up post on reddit that got upvoted to hell because Baumi is an easy target.
The reason why this isn't picking up is because people are focusing on the fact that Baumi bitches too much, the dota 2 subreddit doesn't like drama, and that there are many many many incredibly loyal fanboys to imba. I think this will start to pick up once the gamemode gets banned from the Steam Workshop for violating the Steam Subscriber agreement. Hopefully there isn't going to be a witch hunt on Baumi.

Since the dota 2 reddit community is filled with what you would expect a dota 2 reddit community to be filled with, people are focusing on the wrong things and giving Firetoad a massive fucking egoboost, and it shows. Got an 80% winrate on my placement matches and calibrated at 977 MMR. It was fun playing my calibration matches until my last one had a Treant on the enemy team who pretty much did nothing but got 4 kills late game and starting talking shit about americans in perfectly typed english. I could also tell what MMR I was in because I got the same person on my team twice who demanded CM Safelane, built fucking MJOLLNIR after boots like it was a new meta, and always initiated 1v4's and fed.

That could actually be remade into a proper spell, if you reduce the speed, DPS of the ability and make the units act/tagged similar to weaver swarmlings, so that enemy hero bots know to attack them instead of be scared.
