I am really going to give up soon. I think one of dota's primary flaws is that getting stomped isn't fun at all. I honestly think the agonizingly slow defeat is the absolute worst part of the game.
I know basically every single one of my posts is a complaint or whining about how I am always losing... but ugh. I WANT to like this game and I want to be COMPETENT at it, and I WANT to post positive things. But it doesn't seem to be happening.

I think I am going to take a break...

Mirana's arrow seems fine to me. You can even stun yourself by walking into the side of the arrow, which is pretty funny. It's pretty pinpoint imo.
Pudge's hook however, you can even see the legit bullshit, when you're running away on one direction, and the hook is coming from a slightly different direction, and suddenly shows up on top of you, hooking you, as if it swerved. Wanted's curved bullets level of bulshit right there really.

I don't remember it being this bad before. I used to be able to have it almost scrape my ass and get away safely, but now it seems to follow me.

I think the lock-on effect is due to the game using separate instances of the hook for going out and for returning
there's the hook going out that as we know doesn't [i]exactly[/i] match it's actual hitbox
and occasionally you can graze a part of the hitbox on the very edge, and as always when it hits someone it switches to return hook mode
the returning hook has no hitbox so my guess is the game redraws the model in the switch
but when it redraws it sets the hooks origin point to the hero that has been caught rather than where the hook had been at the time of the catch

so you would be caught either way it just looks extra bullshit because of an illusion

the alternative would just be the hero awkwardly floating next to the hook on the pull back and i'm not sure that's any better though at least you'd know that it just barely got you
