does anyone else here buy ring of regen/protection at the side shop just to hold it for a few seconds to regenerate hp then sell it before the resell timer expires?
Shout out to Bordellimies.
Oooh I fucking remember that, I had no idea what Naga was talking about but I guess I do now!
So I just checked out the Manila qualifiers and realized that Vici Gaming, the main Vici Gaming team with Sylar, BurNIng, Cty, and rOtk, had to go through the open qualifiers to get to the main qualifiers. Not only that, but they didn't even make it into the second half of the main Chinese qualifiers. If they don't break up between now and TI then they must be getting a lot of money to keep sucking.
friendly reminder that Burning is playing support on that team
the only reason they had to go through the open qualifiers was that they changed their roster after the lock period
the only reason they had to go through the open qualifiers was that they changed their roster after the lock period
I figured that was the reason. Doesn't stop me from being surprised at how garbage Chinese teams are right now, even full of should-be-good players.
VG don't look that great but there are still quite a few good chinese teams. VGR, Wings and LGD all got direct invites, of which VGR and Wings definitely deserved it (LGD is more questionable), and Newbee and EHOME both look really strong in the qualifiers so far
idk id invite that LGD lineup its pretty sick

Gotta say shaker's dunk mode is awesome and he don't need no blink dagger anymore.
How come NP died to Ice blast so easily?
Why did he have such low Hp?
How come NP died to Ice blast so easily?

Midas + Phase boots + Shadowblade + Orchid? All are common items on him and none make him any more durable
"Together with the explosion, Ice Blast can deal up to 350/530/770 damage (462.5/690/994 with Aghanim's Scepter)".
It's pretty easy to see how NP could have 10/11/12% hp left after that
I hope nice frog buffs and generally makes Shadow Demon less wonky.
Shadow poison, a gimmicky shadow raze that's 20x easier to dodge
Soul Catcher, such a simple strong ability, but weird application of RNG just cus.
Demonic purge is just kinda eh.
if soul catcher wasn't semi-rng, it'd be one of the most broken abilities in the game
12 second duration, 10 second cd 50% damage amp, he'd be an insta-pick in every single lineup
There is only one problem with SD and that's Soul Catcher. I wouldn't mind seeing it getting reworked.
But otherwise? Nothing wrong with SD, he is a great hero. And if his illusions keep getting buffed (already at 75% damage), Soul Catcher won't even need a rework.
IMO even if a hero has 3 great spells, if one of his spells is near useless then it needs a rework.
Soul Catcher could apply a weaker dmg amp to all enemies caught in the area, like 10/15/20/25% and then double that for a single enemy unit. Reduce the AoE to prevent it from hitting all enemies in a typical teamfight, and it should work quite well.

Don't know why you're comparing an near instant aoe nuke to a aoe nuke you have to slowly build up to be effective.
Shadow Poison is a strong aoe nuke with a large travel distance and cast range, you can hit someone with it without them seeing it coming, I don't know how you manage to miss with it.
And if they keep trying to dodge it, take advantage of that and use it to zone them out if they try to go for a last hit or something. It's really strong at early levels if you can build it up, pair that with soul catcher and you can do lots of damage at level 3/4.
Soul Catcher, such a simple strong ability, but weird application of RNG just cus.
You're supposed to aim it as poorly as possible, it's like that because it's the strongest damage amplification spell in the game and at level 2 is as strong as a level 5 penitence, plague aura, or an orchid/bloodthorn.
And what I mean by saying aim it as poorly as possible:

With enough practice Soul Catcher won't be so random to land, and if you're still having trouble landing the thing, say the person you're targeting is near/in a wave force them to move with shadow poison or single them out with disruption.
My only problem with SC is that compared to the rest of Shadow Demon's abilities it has an awkwardly close cast range but extremely large radius as you can see. Maybe increase one and reduce the other but nothing too good because soul catcher is still a crazy good ability.
Demonic purge is just kinda eh.
Demonic Purge is dispel on demand with an okay-ish nuke at the end. It's very strong against heroes that buff or are dependent on buffs (crushes omniknight and most physical carries) get aghanim's (which you can farm up thanks to shadow poison by the way) and you can use it on three people on the other team and applies break (crushes all physical carries)
Also goes through spell immunity (fuck your bkb and your buffs) and with aghanim's you don't lose a charge if it's blocked with linkens
Also goes through spell immunity (fuck your bkb and your buffs) and with aghanim's you don't lose a charge if it's blocked with linkens
I think that was fixed
But Purge is still absolutely fantastic against buff reliant heroes like Ursa or Broodmother, especially if you get Aghanims
I don't remember if it already does this, but Soul Catcher could be applied to disrupted enemies as a priority.

I'm fairly sure somebody here said that as an idea for a buff to Soul Catcher. It's not in the game.
Icefrog should nerf his laughs to be honest. They are all quite OP.

SD's illusions are incredibly annoying vs strong rightclickers (particularly since the buff). VS AM for example that 75% + manabreak is a bitch.
Highest GPM in the match as an offlaner, these ranked games are giving me cancer :v:
And people still throw themselves one by one at the enemy then bitch at you when you back away with 20%hp and ultimate on CD

9K strats
Soul Catcher is one of the main reasons I'd even draft SD and yet I'm seeing it be called shitty right before my very eyes
What's the secret from keeping the usual tards from dying 12 times by twenty minutes?
Pick Omni, Dazzle, Abbadon or Oracle and force them to not die.

What happened after that? Did Timber get a rampage? Or at least a ultra kill?
Wake me up
