IMO, H3VR is my favourite VR game to date. I can put it on and spend 2+ hours just messing around with the weapons or playing the Pistol / Rifle challenges.

Also, dunno why but found this very funny
While I'm not sure how extensive the UGS is, I'm really hoping one day H3VR will have a mode incredibly similar to meat grinder, but not based around spooks. Just roaming an area, looting all the ammo and equipment you can, and just surviving against robots. Maybe in a wilderness setting with some sort of basic food/hunger system.
I could honestly play something like that for hours.
The fact that the game could pull off getting me to come back to it almost every day when it was doing the advent calendar should speak for how much fun it can be if you're interested/creative enough.
[editline]13th February 2017[/editline]
It's a shame the game isn't being built for and will never receive any form of multiplayer, because I could see H3VR being a laid-back social experience similar to Rec Room. Just hanging around an area, playing with guns and (literally) shooting the shit.
UGS is supposed to eventually have placeable AI & programmable "events" and stuff, so it should be pretty neat.
I would love to have a less spooky meat grinder as well, as fun as it is the spook-factor and death traps are a bit exhausting mentally. :V:
I still find it such a shame that humanoid enemies won't ever be a thing, I understand his stance on that kind of thing but it seems a bit silly the more I think about how awesome a proper firefight in H3 would be.
IMO, H3VR is my favourite VR game to date. Man I really hope he fixes the explosions soon, the sounds, explosion effect & (placeholder) fragments are pretty bad lol
The right side of the touchpad no longer makes the clicky noise on my Vive controller. It still works, but now it feels weird. :(

Try to force the two halfs of the controller together, back and front, near touchpad from every side of it. It should help I guess.
Just tried Elite Dangerous. Come the third tutorial mission I was feeling the first motion sickness I've ever felt in VR. But it was so beautiful.

This is a pretty common problem with the vive controllers, I think. It's happened to me twice. Both times I just had to send it back to HTC to get it fixed. Took about a week. You can also apparently open the things up yourself to fix it, but it'll void your warranty.
I had the same problem, except the button actually stopped working after a bit
Try holding the controller in your left hand and smack the right side of it against your other hand/leg/table
If that doesn't work try it again but hold the left side of the touchpad down while you're smacking it

Thinking outside the box because your warranty is void if you think inside the box.
What ever happened to the Vive's wireless adapter?
I thought it was available but it isn't.

It's still being developed, with a release date later on in the year I think.

Yeah, although it works well enough already that they've given tech demos to industry people. I seem to remember a gif of someone doing a backflip while playing gorn or something like that

I kinda want something like this as an actual mode-- some sort of bullet pack I can just grab from indefinitely instead of having to spawn a bunch and place them on me. Sorta a halo reloading mode
you got a vr headset? want 25$ paypal for standing around for two hours?

Never realized I wanted Defcon in VR. Though, most of the video is of the devs dicking around.

Wonder how they'll actually get VR support implemented outside of spectator mode.

Are you ready to break your controllers? I am, because GORN is about to get a MASSIVE update! More info can be found here: https://madmimi.com/p/1d6899#early_access_no_earlier_than_april_

Fixed it for me, haha. I haven't had any issues since. I googled the problem and there was a thread on Reddit where this fixed it for a dozen people as well. Something with the rocker switch or w/e slips out and banging it puts it back in place.

That is so cool!
Did anyone play RUSE? I know the game is dead now due to licensing issues, but it would be perfect for VR. It felt like a board game when playing due to the view and model types.

Not to mention that the nearly completely-unrelated trailer it had would be great as a VR thing.

the trailer was meant to point towards a version they made for the original microsoft surface. not their new line of surface tablets, laptops, etc, the original surface that was a pc built into a touchscreen table.

it would be neat to see something like that made for vr though, with two players seeing an asymmetric view of the map depending on what they are aware of while still sitting in the same room together.

imax has a vr center now in Los angeles, full of vive's and Star Vr's

wait star vr became a thing? i thought it was just a pipe-dream for starbreeze
It's only enterprise level and only IMAX took up that offer so far.
While we, just as planned, have not yet started shipping larger volumes of StarVR, the current interest from multiple markets and from prominent brands and business sets us up well for the mass production phase beginning later in 2017. We focus on distributing and prioritizing the current development version of the headset to key partners, ensuring that we are compatible with leading industry systems and standards to fully enable us to lead the charge once we deliver the first full production unit.

Our goal is to sell StarVR systems to as many different location-based businesses, theme parks and B2B projects as possible. Our aim is to sell a broader range of headsets and systems through our joint venture with Acer under the brand StarVR.
So I was at a student conference yesterday where honours students presented their final year projects to Industry workers. Third years also had posters up for their final year ideas.
There was a poster about VR snowboarding.. There was no name so I couldn't track them down to warn them that it's probably not a good idea.
For a bit of discussion, does anyone have any ideas on how that could work? Personally I don't think it could ever work, it just sounds like it would induce severe motion sickness.
wait star vr became a thing? i thought it was just a pipe-dream for starbreeze
It was only ever marketed at company's like IMAX. AFAIK they never announced plans for it to be a commercial headset.
unless they have some way of inducing a real feeling of motion, it would likely cause motion sickness.
[editline]16th February 2017[/editline]
in regards to StarVR.
The intent was for it to at some point be a commercial product.
Just got a Vive
Played through half the tutorial and the lightboxes stopped connecting.
Restarted and got bluescreen every time.
Reinstalling Windows and never ever touching USB 3 with the Vive seems to be the only solution.
Getting a Vive was awesome, but losing all my stuff really sucks...
So, I stumbled across this today. Some of the stuff coming out in the VR/AR space with nothing to do with games is actually really interesting.
Curious how it compares to prismatic lenses for glasses, but it's definitely cooler.
