Does Robo Recall work properly with Vive? Also, apparently my Superhot coupon is expired :(
You can use the same base stations for different setups in the same space, but the HMD and controllers are paired with the computer of course. Like you can't pass your controller to another player mid-game or anything. You also can't run two HMDs on one computer (at least not normally supported).
The receiver for the vive controllers is, AFAIK, built into the headset, not the link box or the PC.
Rec Room is experimenting with eye tracking

Just ran down to the store and bought the last Oculus Touch :v:

Yeah that's what I meant, the fact is you have to re-sync them if you want to use them with a different HMD.
Does Robo Recall work properly with Vive? Also, apparently my Superhot coupon is expired :(
It does, but you have to deal with the game thinking you only have one front sensor and telling you to turn around whenever you try to look behind you.
It's also fairly resource intensive for a VR game, expect framerate drops when a lot of physics start happening all around y ou.

I think that's where the confusion occurs, both me and dark soul did not make the assumption that they'd necessarily use the same pairing system for both sets of controllers. They could and probably should, but it might not be the case.

Was it already at $99 there?

HTC not cutting Vive's price
https://www.yahoo.com/tech/htc-virtual-reality-unit-vive-not-match-oculus-213758169--finance.html
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - HTC Corp's virtual reality unit Vive said on Wednesday it would not cut the price of its system in response to a price cut announced earlier in the day by rival Facebook Inc's Oculus platform.
"We don't feel the need to cut the price of Vive, as we've had incredible success, and continue to see great momentum in market," Vive spokesman Patrick Seybold said in a statement.
Gay. It certainly doesn't detract from a game experience built around it, but that limitation feels so restrictive in VR, especially when you're standing up and using motion controllers.
Yeah it gets pretty obnoxious when you try to turn around to hit some robot and the game puts this fuck-huge barrier in your face telling you to face forward and teleport instead.
Was it already at $99 there?
Yeah it was. Looks like the store models are all $99 too.
Robo Recall is free for all Touch owners. Once your controllers are activated, Robo Recall is added to your store account for free.
Vive owners can buy it for $30
Nope, just checked. I have to buy it.
I might have to open a support ticket. I'm still missing Dead & Buried, Medium, Quill and Toybox. They're supposed to go with the Touch without any codes.

Why didn't you ask support way back before? I think I remember you mentioning not getting your codes/activation for those too.

I guess I forgot about it.
Touch is at $90 which is great, but they don't ship to Portugal yet. What's taking them so long? I don't wanna get it from a US friend again and be fucked by customs once more.
If there's anyone here living in Spain and willing to help a brotha out, I'd appreciate it.
That price drop is just nuts.
Gonna try Robo Recall right now, this should be interesting
Also, the Unreal Engine editor now has mesh modelling. You can create models in VR, in the editor, and place them around your scene just like that.
HOLY SHIT THIS IS HUGE FOR ME. I have major depth perception issues with modeling on a 2d screen and I've always wished I could just work in 3d

Greatest VRchat avatar so far. Anime head with hair tentacle legs

Looking at a photo of himself. I love all the dumb shit that people come up with and how free this game is with what models you can bring in. Surprisingly I haven't seen a single giant dick walking around yet.
Well... They publish Bethesda games... That's kind of a big deal.
Yes but Bethesda could use any publisher, but ZeniMax is just another group of greedy corporate assholes. They keep trying to get money from Oculus for the sake of having an extra half billion on the pile.

how do you even make/import models for VR chat
i wanted to make a 3D model avatar for awhile and would be cool to implement into this

There's tutorials on youtube. You need a specific older version of Unity, need to import VRchat SDK, and you need Blender to lower pre-existing models to below 20k polys, or just to make your own model. If you want to import MMD models (anime shit) then it gets more complicated.
Robo Recall is fun and all but the teleportation method gimps the game pretty fucking hard when you play on the vive.
It takes way too long to teleport with how nervous the game is, especially compared to how snappy it is on vive titles where you just hold, point and release.
Robo Recall is pretty fun. Wish I had a third sensor to do 360 tracking, I keep wanting to spin around instead of using the rotate-teleport system
can't wait for someone to make robo recall Vive-compatible for free since they released the entire source code and assets for anyone to use instead of paying 30$ for another wave shooter
VR games are expensive, sheesh.

It's a shame that the first thing you think of in response to all of their hard work is how to get it for free. That's really abusing their generosity in making the game so extensively moddable, and your excuse is to just pretend it's the same low quality wave-shooter trash you see on Steam.

From what Ive seen of it, its just high quality wave shooter trash like Serious Sam or John Wick. Well made, but already a pretty tired concept, to be honest.
Pretty much the only wave shooters that still hold much interest for me are QuiVR and Raw Data.

SPT is also pretty fun with the updates apparently
I sold my vive last night, nothing wrong with it, it was so much fun and amazing but after having it a while I've just not been using it much at all.
I think I'll wait now until the tech moves forward. Secretly hoping for some sci-fi ass brain interface or machine that creates games as dreams you can play in your mind. :v:

they release the entire source code, assets, etc. for free, and make it free via a hardware lock and you expect me to pay $30 for a genre that is essentially overused at this point in VR.
btw heres how to get it free for the vive
No need to buy on Oculus Home--you can get Robo Recall through the Epic Games launcher: https://www.unrealengine.com/download
Once you install the launcher click modding and download Robo Recall. You don't have to buy it from the Oculus store. You should be able to use Revive (may need a bit of help from u/crossvr to find out the best way to launch the editor with it).
Once you install it and launch, close the editor, open C:\Program Files\Epic Games\RoboRecallModKit\RoboRecall\ , right click the RoboRecall.uproject file and choose Launch Game.
I haven't played through it all yet so I don't know if anything is missing. In the levels view it says a couple streaming sub levels weren't found, so it may not have all the missions (I went through several).
This will be an editor build so RAM usage isn't reflective of the packaged game you would get on Oculus Home, and loading times will be a bit slower.
