Robo Recall has a graphics option I've not seen before in a VR game that scales the SS setting dynamically. I have that enabled and haven't noticed frame drops beyond a single second's jitter per 30 minutes of play, and also haven't noticed the automatic SS reduction.
Dynamic resolution scaling has been a thing in console games for quite a while, odd how it's not really been a thing in PC games before now.

PC gaming systems are anywhere from console graphical capability to far greater; there simply wasn't a need for the average PC gamer to have resolution scaling options before VR pushed GPUs to their limits. Plus, SS matters way more for VR displays than typical monitors.

What's that thing that the Unreal Engine does where the textures look blobby and refine right before your eyes when a map loads? I see it constantly in Chivalry, though not Robo Recall. Chivalry has rapid map loading times, and Robo Recall takes 30s to a minute to load anything at all.

You mean texture streaming? I imagine they don't use it in Robo Recall since the maps are quite limited in size and to eliminate any frame hitches or the quality varying during the game.
Did anyone else find the Mission ISS robotic arm docking thing really annoying? The only way i was able to complete was without rotating the capsule at all, docking the thing all sideways. No matter how much i looked at the cameras, i was nowhere near hitting the station with the arm. Jesus christ.
I have a weird problem with my vive now
Everything's worked perfectly fine up until now.
I moved this weekend and set up the vive again, did the room setup and everything without any issues but then I suddenly get loads of missing frames in games.
Disabling the reprojection makes the frames perfect in the SteamVR app alone, but as soon as I launch any game like every other frame fails.
None of the magic fixes on google has helped yet and I do have the latest drivers.
tl;dr: Worked perfectly, packed Vive up, moved, unpacked and set up Vive again, suddenly missing every other frame in games.
Anyone else got a suggestion?
Have you tried other USB ports? Have you cleaned your fans? Have you updated your drivers?
Mission: Get a PCI-E card with USB3 ports for my rig to solve my rift sensors problem.
Outcome: Got in, got the card, and got out in a whiff.
Mission Status: Failed - I do not have enough room inside my CPU case for another card.
Additional Notes: Fucking really... I should've thought of that sooner.
On a side note, I contacted Oculus Support regarding my missing Touch games. They suggested that the store I bought the whole kit might have tested the controllers before selling them. They were pretty cool about it and handed me a code with the Touch games.
I'm downloading Robo Recall now.
Has anyone had the issue where they can't hear anything in RecRoom on the Oculus Rift?
I can hear fine in other games and Home. Just not on Rec Room.
just got my vr re-setup for my new room.
now i have like near-max roomscale compared to bare minimum roomscale, i will be able to use my vive properly finally

Yes, everything

:what:
Has anyone ever managed to run sweetfx on VR mode games? Pretty sure you can tune something neat for VR Gaming.

I went from max to minimum after moving

So here's the problem:

Everything is perfect on the screen but in the vive it's all jittery and terrible.
I have max size play area but it's rectangular and long rather than square which is annoying
Man, the Touch controllers are ridiculously cool.
One of them has already got paint on it from the wall, the other damn well could've had blood on it by now as i smashed my friend in the head as I was playing Gorn :v:

Gorn is gonna get people killed, i swear

My Vive controllers have a few paint scuffs on them from letting people try VR for the first time
Serious question has anybody played Gorn without hitting their controller with something?, it kinda seems that it IS bound to happen sooner or later :v:
I've never played GORN without someone else being there so there's usually a shout if anyone gets to close to something. There's been taps on the wall, a punched fan and a knocked lighthouse tripod but no actual damage.
Robo Recall is fun, as it turns out.

My floor has a dent for letting a first timer play Budget Cuts demo

Tried setting your primary audio device to Rift Audio before launching? Though that shouldn't be necessary if you run an Oculus SDK title. Are you playing through Home or Steam?

Mines 3.5 * 4 which still feels too small
My floor has a dent for letting a first timer play Budget Cuts demo
the open ceiling tile gets everyone the first time
I've boxed my girlfriend in the face while playing GORN once.
That really didn't go over well.
i did the budget cuts for the first time last night and if it wasnt for my vr helmet loosely falling off whenever i put my face down like that i would of hit the concrete floor
So, i just bought Robo Recall, because obviously the free version with the source code has just got one level, its fucking amazing, but after each game i have to get my Vive off and sit for a while, and also take my shirt of because this shit makes you sweat a lot.

Did you try reinstalling SteamVR or getting into the SteamVR beta maybe?
[editline]12th March 2017[/editline]
Holy shit, Odin is a memelord :v:
The worst part about having backed the NOLO headset is that I'm stuck here waiting until May to get mine shipped.
I see people playing SteamVR games and enjoying them and I'm sitting here going "woo yeah, I can't wait to play that...in two and two-thirds months"

i did something like this too. i was playing audioshield in the living room (because that's where my pc is) and my mother had the audacity to vacuum at the same time in the same area as my vive play space.
she said it was my fault that i hit her even though she saw me swinging my arms like a madman, smh.

it's like having lunch on a live fire range and scolding the person whose bullet happened to hit you
