Let's just hope that with the release of Valve's knuckle controllers, there are less issues when trying to play games developed for touch and that a suitable standard is reached that allows for cross platform development.
Robo Recall is a fantastic game, but trying to hold onto something with the Vive's grip buttons is really strenuous, might look into the possibility of modding the inputs after I've finished my dissertation. Though the blueprints did kinda terrify me..
Well aehm... ive got a big problem guys... As i have recently reworked my whole room now the vive doesn't really work properly... and this happens with tracking.

I did nothing other than put the sensors where they should be and else, and that happens all the time. its impossible to play.
Now, if you ask, my setup is like this:

Generic tech support answer: have you tried closing the blinds?? I've never had a problem with sunlight in our offices (although we do have blinds we can put over *everything* for when we do sensitive computer vision tasks) but I've heard other people have

Just tried out, still the same. Its not like if there was any sunlight or anything, its cloudy rn.

what about that mirror in the second picture?
what about that mirror in the second picture?
oh fuck. i havent thought that might be the problem. Im dumb AF, brb gonna put a blanket over it or something
Close blinds, move/cover up mirror, turn off lights, clean lighthouses. I get similar issues if I stand too close to my big mirror so I usually block it with my bathroom door.
If none of that works, you should get in touch with whatever tech support is available.
Its working perfectly fine now. It was the fucking mirror :downs:. Thanks guys.
Mirrors are a bitch for literally any kind of tracking system, for lasers the signal bounces at a different angle you expect and for cameras you see an object where it isn't actually. Microsoft actually calls some of the weirdness that can be induced by very black or reflective surfaces holes/hallucination errors/etc :v:

I have a big ass fan and whenever its running it messes with tracking, even though the blades are matte black (Stainless steel cage fan)
really anything that can reflect or even just alter the path of light can fuck it up

If you want to fuck with someone playing VR, bring a mirror

not that big a deal for cameras since you can tell that the tracking points are mirrored.

There are some scenarios where you can identify nonsense coming from a mirror but in general that's wrong. You're assuming one scenario a mirror could cause for one type of vision based tracking, but there are many ways it can go wrong for virtually all of the types.
Robo Recall got an update today to officially support 3-camera Touch setups (removes the 'face your sensors' message and changes how teleporting works).
Also this is now the end-credits music.
Waiting for my refund so I can get my shit, the wait is killing me. :rollout:
Holy shit... after so much time without playing it feels amazingly well to start playing back away.

Google has developed a new haptic feedback system for VR.

Ive been playing it with the revive and its amazing now. Like, with the 360 mod its better than before, because i dont know why i got desorientated a lot and when moving around with the arrow thing in the floor it took me a little while to be able to see where i was really going to look at.
Edit:
Also, google is now making their new AR Device as it seems.

edit 2:
oh... i... i just noticed it was from last year on april fools, not this year... great.
that video is from last year
Is there a way to turn off the "hold button to keep your guns in your hand" thing in robo recall? My friend has a vive but the underside buttons being used for that on the wands made him give up playing until he can do it differently
Don't think so. Grip buttons are relatively easy to hold on the Touch controllers, hence that design.
Maybe someone can make a mod for it. Though you won't be able to play the main campaign with it.
I remember seeing a steamvr advanced settings mod that lets you make the grip button toggleable...

it's in the revive settings page

HL2VR is coming back, this time with full Touch and Vive support
It'd be cool if Garry's Mod had VR functionality. Never gonna happen though.

Hey man, it's got Kinect functionality. Never say never.

I've posted it several times before but garry did an interview saying he was working on a sequel of sorts to GMod of which VR support would be a big focus. That was a long time ago though, and he's been pretty tight lipped on what the status of that project is

HTC are dropping the price of the Vive by $100 this Wednesday (5th April) for one day only. Plus some other crap.
