tbh I just play VR with a blindfold the true virtual experiance
I guess I'm lucky, I don't have any real issues with focusing in the Vive (even wearing glasses) and the screen door effect largely goes away for me when I get engaged in things, unless something with one solid colour dominates the FOV. I'm also basically completely immune to motion sickness unless I start dropping frames like a motherfucker.
Also note that there is a fairly small sweet spot in the lenses. This means that things should be sufficiently far away that both your​ eyes can look towards the center of the lens but close enough to avoid resolution issues. For me that distance is maybe a 1 to 2 feet from my face with the Vive. If you close one eye and center the item in the open eye's sweet spot then you can kinda test what the max fidelity is at that distance. Hopefully that makes sense.
Main problem I've had with the Vive is the "center" of the screen sits too low to properly use handgun sights, most noticeable in H3VR with illuminated iron sights. If I put the sights below the center of my vision the sights look crisp, but putting them right in the center ends up with blurry ass sights at full arms' length. It's okay when the sights are much closer to your face (ie c.a.r. when you're doing John Wick/Collateral shit & long guns) but arms fully extended it's pretty bad. Has anyone else encountered this? Adjusting the headset up kind of fixes it but then it doesn't sit quite right on my face.

The bottom of the foam is supposed to sit on the lower part of your eye sockets instead of resting on your cheeks. I tried it and it makes a big difference. It's a bit uncomfortable at first, but you get used to it. I think I have a growing hate for Romanian service people. In EU thats where damaged Vive is send, and my controller bounced there 3 times already. It's like with kids, really. First time, it was just broken from straight up damage from hitting the floor. They mostly fixed that, but then tracking was off. I send it again, and said, test it with another controller near it to see the issue. Nope, controller arrived, was send back 1 hour later with explanation that they tested sensors and it was detected. Now it was send again, and I talked to the HTC rep for an hour explaining exactly what is happening, provided video, milion screenshots, and made him promise that service team will check that. Geez. 1 month of NOT PLAYING VR. I'm becoming a regular 2D player, help me.
Rec Room is so much fun, can't believe they offer it for free.

Right now the problem with Rec Room is replayability, Quest has become boring and you can play only so much Paintball. Really hoping for karts to make it to the game.
Reggie Watts's and Justin Roiland's Altspace show is on in 8 hours if anybody wanted to check it out.
IL-2 BoS now has VR support and initial reactions have it as the top flight VR implementation so far, beating WT and DCS in feel.

With Medium's new update that came out today (it's awesome), exporting models and textures became a lot easier and you can also decimate them to reduce triangles which is awesome for VRchat purposes. So I exported this into blender, gave it a skeleton, and uploaded it to VRchat. [img]https://horobox.co.uk/u/T01YbB.png[/img] Lots of "what the fuck is that" was heard

I kind of underestimated the difference between my ceiling and the ledge I was looking at in VR v:v:v Grenade skeeball is amazing though.
Tomorrow I'm expecting some usb extenders and wall mounts so I can try roomscale. H3VR is kind of hard without being able to turn 360.

My controller finally arrived from repair, and it seems that third time is the charm, as it is working correctly. Shame it's not in perfect shape anyway.
