And how exactly would you plan to control it?

I don't think the VR version was ever on a Humble Bundle. There is a regular and another VR version.

cheeky fucks, they promised vr support not selling a vr version

That might be the best explenation of 4D I've ever seen.

Also, anyone playing Bridge Crew?
Uplay: J0dern

Too bad there's no shadow mode where 4d gets projected into 3d.
I got a parrot disco this week as part of a pretty decent sale at best buy, and holy crap. It comes with goggles to use like the gear vr and although I have really strong vr legs I was violently ill after only minutes of flying :v:
relatively low framerates combined with extremely high accelerations and speeds meant it was basically the ultimate vomit comet
oh my fucking god, i played a bridge crew in randoms and
the captain was a drunk scotsman
the tactical officer was a drunk scotsman
it was fucking amazing, one of them even was nicknamed Haggis
i could barely understand the captain's orders he was so drunk and scottish

"Engineering, Orkel throw me a fucken vodka and Haggis shoet those fucken mines ay"
I've come to accept that 90% of the Bridge Crew player base consists of drunk Scotsmen. If you see CABBAGE, say hi from me.
I doubt many of you care because everyone's already got real headsets and such, but the NOLO tracking stuff started its first round of shipping a couple days ago.

Really hoping this cheapass VR solution entices more people to start getting into VR. Mechanical keyboards and headphones can cost around this price so it's not exactly far out there as far as PC peripheral pricing goes.
I really hope they do well, it's such a great idea.
Oculus SDK 1.15 adds support for Vulkan. Hopefully it'll give a nice perf boost once Unity's Vulkan renderer hits stable.
Gorn has turned from a goofy bouncy physics brawler to some of the goriest shit I've ever seen. Smashing a mace into someones head to see bone fragments fly away, revealing a bulged out eye that tracks you through a shattered skull has never been this fully realized. Until the advent of virtual reality, I never thought I'd get to have this much fun mutilating a person. Thanks for turning me into a bad person, VR!

According to 'leaks' I read on reddit, SkyrimVR is in development to be released after Fallout 4VR. Would be interested in that if it's true. Skyrim VR seems a better fit for VR than Fallout 4, despite Fallout 4 having guns. I just can't help but cringe thinking about my performance in Fo4 VR, especially in the city.
We'll be having a bit of a Facepunch meetup on VRChat in about an hours time, no idea what we'll do there, but Korro seems to have some sort of tour in mind.
Feel free to join the VR Discord aswell, where we'll try to plan things like this in the future.

If VR is the thing that makes Bethesda optimize the shit out of their games that would be incredible but I'm not exactly holding out hope :v:
Skyrim would be a lot easier to run at the framerate VR requires but I feel like making skyrim's melee combat satisfying in VR might be a challenge unless they do a fairly big rebalancing of the game

It's not like the melee combat was satisfying in the first place. It's a perfect fit, really.

Will probably try to get together for some more stuff like this later on.

That was loads of fun.
The weirdest news in a while: Palmer Luckey is pitching for a border control system as an alternative to Trump's Great Wall
Just a few months after being edged out of Facebook, Oculus founder Palmer Luckey has a new startup, in a new industry — defense. The New York Times reports that Luckey is working on surveillance technology designed to be used at national borders and at military bases, using a variety of sensors to watch for people crossing between countries or into restricted areas illegally.
In pitching the technology, Luckey has reportedly secured meetings with key White House representatives, including Trump right-hand-man Steve Bannon. He could also secure funding for the venture, with PayPal founder Peter Thiel apparently mulling investment through his Founder’s Fund company.
Proving, once again, that nobody who supports the idea of a Trump Wall actually understands the gesture.
(The point isn't to secure the border, it's to build a big fucking wall. Or at least say you are, to get those followers up.)
Pfft, hahaha. Good luck Palmer. Go waste your money on defence projects.
[editline]5th June 2017[/editline]
At this point I expect him to go down the McAfee route.
We're going to build a chaperone and make virtual mexico pay for it

TBH both sound like they'll get bad VR support. Tacking vr onto games doesn't tend to turn out nearly as well as a game designed for it and I hate to imagine people getting their first VR impression from a game with shitty vr support

Now how many thousands of dollars will a VR-capable top of the line Mac be
[editline]5th June 2017[/editline]
I'm gonna be pessimist until VR Macs are at the same price point as VR PCs
"Our strongest Mac yet, now capable of VR, only $4,999" meanwhile people with a brain buy a $1000 PC that runs games better and more of them
