The fact it's a timed exclusive is so god damn lame
I've never had any buyers remorse with my Vive purchase, but I've always conceded that it would probably be a once-in-awhile, special occasions deal. But I have to say, with some of the recent titles that have hit, I've found myself getting the Vive out almost as much as I game in general. Between titles like To The Top, Tales of Glory and even good ol' Pavlov, I'm starting to use the headset more like it's own console instead of a device I reserve the night to play.
Skyrim VR was the only thing I wanted Bethesda to announce (other than FO4VR but that was a distant second compared to Skyrim) and they've gone and announced that not only is it real, but it's real and exclusive to a platform I don't own so it's just sitting there taunting me. Fucking hate exclusives, timed or not.
I'm really curious to see how Fallout 4 and Skyrim VR will fare when they release. Based on the engine they use, I don't have high hopes, but maybe they managed to optimize the games enough to be a nice VR experience. Also, I really hope Skyrim VR allows you to draw back your bow's string, otherwise there won't be much there for me personally; VR melee combat is usually pretty shitty and unsatisfying.

playing skyrim in VR was why I made ItszuVR in the first place
Did you ever post a picture of that? I remember when you said it was still mostly duct-tape but I never actually saw a picture or anything of it. :v:
Really want to play the updated version of Gorn, too bad all these youtubers get to play it and show it off to everyone else who wants it. You know people already want it, so you continue to let these streamers shove it in our faces.

Speaking of VR legs, I actually play Onward while sitting down on my desk chair. Adjusting the height to crouch behind cover. (Front facing on Oculus actually works really well, I think I actually prefer it over 360 due to not messing about with cables) TLDW: can use artificial locomotion while seated for hours on end without issues.
The only time when artificial motion screws me up is if I take a step or two IRL while moving, it makes me feel like I'm going to faceplant :v:
I tend to have balance problems in VR, but nothing regarding sickness. The first time I landed on a bouncing platform in Climbey, I nearly fell over.
If you ever get a weird feeling with artificial locomotion, try pushing your tongue against the roof of your mouth gently. I dunno why but that used to help when I had issues.
Airtone released VR rhythm game, gotten some very positive reviews.
Okay so I got the game and played a bit. It is very very good, the devs have put a lot of effort into it. Though the English voice actor is kinda bad so it's better use the original Japanese voices with subtitles enabled. It gets you sweating and some of the levels are absolute hell in difficulty.
I sometimes walk around the Minecraft server I play on for hours, just exploring it all in VR. VR legs are real. Let us use them.

Right now, at least, you can't use artificial motion because of the hardware.

airtone looks cool, but how similar is it to audioshield? it seems more polished, but a lot of vr rhythm games that i have seen seem to follow the similar pattern of "hit the beats," so i'm wondering if airtone does that differently enough compared to audioshield that it's worth buying.
Hold a button and point?
I mean sure, that would technically work, but eugh that sounds really rough during anything other than exploration. I wish they would've just released a new motion controller by now that either added a joystick/touchpad to the motion controller or added that light ball to the movement controller so that it could be used.
I wish Sony and their backward as fuck industry-damaging obsession with exclusivity to the point they're willing to gimp/remove features just to keep that precious exclusive deal going would just fuck off already.
apparently oculus really wants me to buy a headset [t]http://i.imgur.com/UMPc16V.png[/t] already have a vive so no clue what to do with it
If you already have a Vive there's not much point in getting a Rift since they're pretty much the same, Gen 1 headsets. Rift+Touch for $550 is not a bad deal though.
