First day at Vertigo Games. Got a chance to hold the knuckles controllers. They work like advertised, very natural grip. Still, don't know if they remain as comfortable for longer sessions. [editline]3rd July 2017[/editline] Also got to try the Virtuix Omni. Can't say it made me change my mind much :v:
It looks fucking fantastic [vid]https://clips-media-assets.twitch.tv/25657749264-offset-5424.mp4#t=0[/vid]
Just purchased a Vive and lighthouse stands! Can't wait to dive into VR :)
Fuck, I'm going to have to move my PC into my living room any time I want to play Gorn, otherwise all of my shit's getting broken.
Yeah I tried Gorn for the first time today (since i got my rift today) and about 5 minutes in I punched my wall so hard I bent my fingernail back a bit. Thankfully the controller was fine but I'm really gonna have to figure out a bigger playing space for that game. On another note, I tried Job Simulator for the first time today: http://streamable.com/4b90k
My current play area is rather small, so I learned to just plant my foot and never lift it. Makes fighting a bit hard to do, but at least I haven't broken anything yet.
Anyone played Subnautica in VR? How is that?
Anyone played Subnautica in VR? How is that?
Tried it, it was okay. It wasn't meant for it, and it shows. The controls were clunky and the body-presence and scale of things feels very off. I'm not easily sickened by bad VR, but subnautica made me somewhat dizzy.
Anyone played Subnautica in VR? How is that?
I had never played Sub before getting it for VR and I was pleasantly surprised. I just sit in my beanbag chair, pop on the headset and spend an hour swimming around the ocean and build shit. I can see why people can get easily sick from it, I found that if you play with a controller and have comfortable seating location then the VR Sickness isnt too bad. Also you need a powerful rig to run it max + VR, but it is totally worth it.
Yeah I get like 15 fps in subnautica vr maxed out, with a gtx1070. IMO subnauticas vr is terrible and I haven't played more than 5 seconds with it

It gave me a headache within 5 minutes and I had to put it down.

Almost retched right there :v:
Space Engine's newest patch has VR support, no release date yet though. [hd]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo5X9F2wu-Q[/hd] Also cool nebulas (1:40->)
The idea of Space Engine in VR terrifies me. I can't wait.

Been a little while since I messed with SE, but I thought it had VR support already, or maybe that was stereoscopic 3D.
I like GORN because it's what I expected boxing on the Wii to be. You get to actually beat the shit out of your opponent as quickly as you can physically punch.

How long did it take you for you guys for the Vive to ship in the US from the HTC website?

I have no issues at all in subnautica VR. (Although my system is a little OTT for a VR gaming machine, i7-6850k 32GB Ram gtx980)
Well it looks like I finally booped one of my controllers into losing all tracking. Had to order some torx screwdrivers to be able to pop open the damn thing and plug the ribbons back in, since that's most likely what caused the malfunction to begin with. Also ordered protective sleeves for them which should help a little in the future. Better to spend 30 bucks on those two things than 150€ on a full replacement.

(2 against the ceiling, 2 or maybe 3 against the shelf on one side of my area)
This one controller got knocked twice against a wall and once against a table. One of those knocks caused slight tracking issues when rotating the wand, up to complete temporary loss of tracking, and the last caused it to completely cease tracking. Seemingly whenever they get bumped the ribbons inside can easily unplug so it's a matter of opening the thing and gently putting them all back in. Voids the warranty, but it doesn't cover user error/rough handling anyhow so it doesn't really matter ultimately.
[t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DD5vHzhXcAAvJet.jpg:large[/t] VR game revenues on Steam
Seems like bullshit compiled from registered copies or something, I doubt so many of the 'free' games would have sales that high if you don't count the copies that were bundled up.
I managed to bump my controller and fuck up the trackpad on it two times within the one month of owning the vive, since then they've endured numerous heavy blows without any lasting damage. They're fickle things, those vive controllers.
