Also, heard the Rift is basically a no-go with glasses. I'm nearsighted so I'm still wondering if I could get away with not wearing them at all in VR, but it's not something I want to risk.
https://widmovr.com/product/oculus-rift-prescription This is based on the 3d print design mentioned a few posts up, not the shitty vrlenslab design.
It only took me a grand total of 15 minutes before I accidentally pulled the vive off my face in GORN. 10/10, would drop my $800 HMD on the floor again (Sweat + accidental cable yank) It seems to be fine, no cracks and the tracking is fine, I think it fell a lot more gently than I realized thanks to the cable getting wrapped around my hand. :v:
One of those inhale-through-clenched-teeth moments.
I was thinking Dark Souls haha, but yeah definitely Makes the parry-riposte SO satisfyingly effective
Just bought GORN, going to give it a play tonight. When's your Vive coming?
Just bought GORN, going to give it a play tonight. [editline]11th July 2017[/editline] Gorn is great by the way, easily the best melee VR game so far

It just says in process for the order status.

They might've missed your order or forgot about it because of the holidays or something. They also forgot to send my $50 steam card so the guy gave me the code over the Live Chat right away which was awesome.

It's getting really frustrating that I wish I just ordered it on Amazon to guarantee fast shipping.
Zenimax needs to fuck off.
What's going on with zenimax and oculus?
https://widmovr.com/product/oculus-rift-prescription This is based on the 3d print design mentioned a few posts up, not the shitty vrlenslab design.
Is there a similar product for the Vive or is it not really a big deal there? I heard it's more accommodating of glasses.
What's going on with zenimax and oculus?
Lawsuits because of the time Carmack spend on Oculus tech while still at Id.
Is there a similar product for the Vive or is it not really a big deal there? So I'm thinking of buying the Oculus + Touch bundle when I get paid on thursday. few questions though. 1) Does SteamVR support the Oculus? 2) How severe is the goggle feeling on the oculus? I know it has a 110 degree FOV but its hard to visualize that, is it equivalent to wearing like ski goggles? 3) Does it come with basic head tracking abilities out of the box or do I have to buy the 3 sensor extensions ontop of the bundle? Thanks.

To answer your questions though, yes steamvr supports the rift/touch (although some games might have awkward controls if specific support is not added from what orkel said), it's pretty comfortable, and the FOV is more than adequate. Rift+Touch bundle says right on the website that it comes with two sensors, so you could add another if you wanted to get close to vive tracking but I think most things for the rift are fine with 2 (a rift user could chime in)

I have two sensors corner-to-corner waist height with about 3x3 m of play area and that gives pretty much flawless tracking. Even just one sensor is viable if you just want to sit/stand still and generally face one direction.
Fuck it. Cancelled the order from HTC and bought it from Amazon. Hopefully it doesn't ship now of all time from HTC before I get my cancellation confirmation.
Should mention that the Vive is $700 with free shipping today only if you have prime on amazon.
Holy fuck GORN is FUN. ripped a guys head off and then beat the living fuck out of his buddy with the head. 10/10 one of the most fun VR games I've played so far.
Well, I'm joining the fold thanks to the big Rift sale. It'll be my only VR experience other than DK1 + 360 pad. The headset + touch bundle will be with me tomorrow. Since I'm a bit spent out, any recommendations for sitting/standing experiences that are either free or under the £10 mark?
I'm thinking about getting the rift on sale, but how good does it track in roomscale with 2-3 sensors? And i have seen some people say that you may run into some problems with the usb ports if you use 3+ sensors. Will i be better off with using a bit more money and buying a used vive for roomscale?

When using 3 sensors it's often recommended to offload one to another USB controller (USB expansion card for example). For the current price, the Rift is an easy choice if you're in the market.
Can't seem to setup my touch controllers, I get the cameras distanced properly but then it constantly says I need to move back or move to the center. I'm walking like 12 feet back and bumping into my bed and it still says its not good enough

Will that be okay with the oculus camera sensors?
Just skipped the setup process for the controllers and they seem to work fine. I just had my first experience with the robot demo and I can understand what everyone is raving about now :v:
Does the vive support steam in-game streaming?
Just skipped the setup process for the controllers and they seem to work fine. I just had my first experience with the robot demo and I can understand what everyone is raving about now :v:
I played that at the Microsoft store in a nearby mall and it was enough to convince me to buy in. Gonna be a week or 2 before I actually get mine because I bought it off Amazon since it came with a $100 gift card.
Should I buy the Oculus bundle for $400? I was originally gonna get a Vive, but since this is $300 less, and it's on sale. I figured I'd ask.
Should mention that the Vive is $700 with free shipping today only if you have prime on amazon.
Man if only that were the case in France. The vive is still extremely expensive and the French amazon storefront does not even sell some of the accessories on standalone (controllers are absent for some reason).

I was first going to buy a Vive as well and I haven't regretted the cheaper decision.
Does the vive support steam in-game streaming?
I haven't actively tried it, but I don't think so. To start in-game streaming, you have you either have someone ask to watch you (might work?), or start it from the in-game Steam overlay. In VR, Steam never uses that overlay UI, only the main, "out of game" UI when you bring up the Steam VR overlay.
