Still haven't played it because I just tore down my VR setup since I'm moving to a new place this week. But at least I got to design my new living room completely around having a nice big VR space :v:
does anyone a uk site that has the rift summer bundle in stock?
I'd like to know this too, everywhere is bloody out of stock and I don't want to wait weeks for delivery :(
Yeah I finished Lone Echo today. It was very well made. Graphics are pretty insane. I liked the ending a lot. Worth the money, even though at some points the tasks were repetitive, for the most part it was a great experience.
How long was one play through. That game tickles my interest but for 40 bucks I do not really want a 2 hour game.
Lone Echo is around 4 hours on average.
My first online match in Echo Arena I somehow punched my left thumb with my right Touch while trying to punch one of the players (held his head with left hand - punched with right, too immersed, hit my real hand through his virtual head). The Touch controller hit my left thumb hard enough to cause bleeding. The game is fun as hell though.
Is the adventure pack on the Oculus Store worth the $70? You get the Climb and Raw Data in it and those games are like $40 a piece. Are they even any good?

I really want the climb but man is it ridiculously expensive even in the bundle, especially as I have no interest in the sports game and I Expect You To Die is apparently really short.

There's plenty of other games to try, and you can pick up The Climb cheaper in some sale a few months from now.
apparently someone found this unlisted oculus video on youtube edit: oh apparently comes from https://www.oculus.com/blog/vrs-grand-challenge-michael-abrash-on-the-future-of-human-interaction/
I've just received an email from Orbus VR and this has been published recently on their webapage. In case anyone wonders, this was one of the VR MMORPGs that was being developed recently, and now they've announced an open alpha as it seems.

Oculus finally charged me for the order I placed on the 15th! I have access to all the VR equipment at work, but I'm excited to get my own headset at home. I get to try out and demo all kinds of games, but I always feel like I'm playing on the clock. Now I can enjoy the stuff it has and also do some light dev on my own time. Woo!
Been trying a lot of the visual 'trippy' VR experiences lately, while I've been waiting for one of my vive controllers to get fixed. Stuff like Cosmic Sugar, GPU cubes, music visualizers, etc. After coming across a completely bizarre game in the way of Super Bunnyhop's bizarre interview with the bizarre developer , I decided to drop the cash on the SoundSelf beta. You can probably get the impression from the developer alone what type of game it is, and I was pretty apprehensive until I went into it with an open mind and followed it's meditative instructions. What followed was probably the closest to a drug trip I've ever come while being stone cold sober. Very strange sensations coming from a combination of melting-into-my-bed meditative relaxation and jaw dropping visualizations of your breath of all things really came together to trip me out, just a little bit. I'm sure it's not going to be like that for everyone but if something like this interests you at all, I definitely recommend you try it out. Only if you think you could shell out $30 for the thing, though.

Oculus update on public test now
With the 1.17 PC software update (available now in our public test channel) we’re making it easier to manage your content library all in one place. Now, you’ll be able to view and launch all apps that support Rift from your computer or in VR, even if you acquired them from outside the Oculus Store. We know people sideload apps for a variety of reasons, so we've included some options to help provide flexibility and control of what’s displayed. Here are a few things to keep in mind: -You can toggle displaying third party app titles “on” and “off” from the Filter menu of the Library in the upper right of the Oculus desktop app -You can remove individual apps from your Library (note that this does not uninstall the app; also, at this time, this action can’t be undone) -If you are using an app obtained or purchased outside the Oculus Store, your activity will simply display as "Online" -Library will still display the five most recently played apps. If you toggle “off” third party apps titles, they will be removed from recent activity We’ll be iterating on Library functionality and features with future patches. If you’re testing the release, please share feedback with us via the PTC, and stay tuned for future updates.
Launching my SteamVR games from Oculus Home is going to make things so much more convenient.
Oculus update on public test now Launching my SteamVR games from Oculus Home is going to make things so much more convenient.
Thank God, I've been wanting this since day 1.
Raw Data is one of the biggest games I regret buying tbh
I feel that, lucky I got it during that amzaon glitch for like 0.50.
Raw Data is one of the biggest games I regret buying tbh
Really? I've just been hearing non-stop praise about it.
Still waiting on that oculus I ordered on the 11th. Amazon is expecting that it'll ship tomorrow, fingers crossed. I guess this is as good a time as any to finish up re-7. I'm wondering if there's any way to get a third oculus sensor to do roomscale apart from waiting.
Really? I've just been hearing non-stop praise about it.
Well, recently they've released Raw Data PVP which is basically a 4v4 or 5v5 with all of the classes to choose from and with their respective abilities, which in PVP is pretty fun TBH but... It gets a bit repetetive easily.
Really? I've just been hearing non-stop praise about it.
It's a very popular game in the same vein as Job Simulator, I think. A very competent showcase of that genre of VR gameplay, but outclassed in many ways by many newer games and fundamentally lacking as a complete game experience. At least, that's my opinion, I haven't had a chance to play the new Raw Data update.
It's a bit like the call of duty of VR right now, it's well polished and has wide appeal but for anyone who plays shooters on a regular basis it's as basic as it gets I think most of it's popularity comes more from the fact that it beat everyone else to the punch in the VR race for having a complete experience. Plenty of better alternatives right now, though.
I played Robo Recall first and loved it. When I tried out Raw Data, it felt lacking. I didn't enjoy the combat or weapons as much.

I got my vive controller back from repairs today. This specific controller has been the only part I've needed to send back for repairs, but it's been back three times over the year I've had it. It seems this time they just fucking gave up and gave me a brand new controller. None of my original scuff marks are there, and I got a sticker with a new serial number on it. It's odd because the controller has always developed a faulty trackpad, but this time it was an issue with pairing to the headset itself. An issue I was so sure was related to the wireless receivers in my headset. Now that they've just given me a new controller, I may never find out what went wrong.
Damn. Seems like AltspaceVR is shutting down.
Yes they are. They lost funding from their investors due to the "slow growth" of the VR market even tho they had 35,000 monthly users.
