Locking customer support behind a paywall is probably the most retarded thing ever? Like you KNOW that email support will be shit.
You're not exactly a customer if you're not paying. They're just prioritizing people who give them money.
Sansar (Second life 2) is now in open beta https://www.roadtovr.com/second-life-successor-sansar-launches-open-beta-today-pricing-revealed/ lol
Am I stupid? What's the difference between 24 hours within business hours and 1 business day within business hours? Also can we get these prices for SL please? Why do you get 3 free experiences with Sansar but 3 sims in SL would cost you $900/mo?
You're not exactly a customer if you're not paying. They're just prioritizing people who give them money.
You're ignoring the three tiers after "Free" Customer support is still worse than if you don't pay more. No reason to give people the option to pay less when they can get them to pay more.

You can freely visit as many worlds as you want but can only create 3 of your own max with the free tier. So if you want to build a shit ton of worlds you're better off with a higher tier sub, the average player will see no difference with the game between free and $100/month as you'll just be visiting places, not creating them. Tying support to your subscription is retarded though.

the feel that sansar goes for is for people to make promo spaces for their products like SL did back in 2005-8 thats what i get from it. take me home country roads to the place where i belong, comcastic island
Sansar needs a lot of work. The movement is unbelievably laggy and nauseating, it's serverside instead of clientside so you gotta wait for your character to move after pushing the thumbstick. There is also no instant snap turning to reduce nausea. At this point in time, VRchat is way better.
Has anyone with a Rift tried out the new Alien: Isolation VR mod that's been floating around recently? https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/6qf01z/mothervr_alpha_release_alien_isolation_vr_mod/ Told my friend I would play Alien: Isolation if it came to VR, but it's Rift only currently.
I made an outer space propulsion movement thing, pretty fun to play around with.
I couldn't even get Sansar to work in VR and I wasn't really into the idea of wasting my time on making their game work. What I saw of it on the PC client it didn't look too great anyway, the character selection was pretty horrible too.
So how's the VR if you don't have a marginally good enough graphics card? Will it lag or something?
if VR lags too much your brain crashes as well (permanently) so you need at least a 3x sli gtx 1090ti set up and anti-static walls that can't reflect light with a gold infused PSU [editline]1st August 2017[/editline] also a 970 works too for most games really, min... though if you're getting a new GPU obviously the 10-6/7-0 is the best bet, really doesn't need to be like, the best shit ever. Really, so long as your CPU isn't shit you found on the street you'll be fine.
Fuck.
I mean, what ARE your specs? helps to know :v:
A previously useful way to check is the SteamVR Performance Test, Just not sure how it scales up to VR titles these days.
I'm not talking about the experiences, I'm asking what the difference is between 24 hours and 1 day.
1 business day, meaning an 8(?) Hour work period. Or however long their work period is. Meaning if the support staff works from 9am-5pm in say NYC, and you submit a ticket from California at 6am, you should receive a response within 8 hours. Vs 24 hours for the lower tier
Assuming they don't have rotating shifts throughout the day [editline]1st August 2017[/editline] My merge
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor (4.0 GHz speed) RAM: 8.0 GB I used the Oculus compatibility test and it says I'm lacking in the graphics card category. I am planning on getting a 1060 at some point.
Yeah, the 7800 isn't gonna do too well. 8350 is kinda pushing it I think but otherwise ok. R9 290 was the minimum when the Rift launched, but I'd suggest a 480 (Or Fury / Fury X) if you don't want to go NVidia route.

On top of that, I got mine cheaper than a 1080 for having just slightly less performance. The only negative on it is the power draw, but if your PSU can take it, get it.
And alternatively, the Vega is apparently going out worldwide on the 14th. The Vega 56 is looking to lineup as the best price / perf option
The Rift+Touch bundle for $399 is Amazon US's highest seller right now. Tons of people buying it since it's finally affordable, like a whole new market got unlocked at that price point.

Speaking of amazon, all the bits and bobs of mine have shown up! I've got kind of a janky temporary roomscale setup here at my parents house that i'll make more permanent with wall mounting when i'm back at school. It feels good to have roomscale of my own. So good. Also, compared to the vive it's way lighter in all senses. Being almost two meters tall and having a spine like a condemned roller coaster this helps with the headaches that i'd get from balancing anything on my head. I've had it on for a few hours in the past couple days when I just had the headset and i feel fine. I even had a few video unexpected editing jobs in the past week, so i've got some spare cash for games. I'll start developing tomorrow, it's time to play today. If anyone's down for something multiplayer let me know!
Highest seller of Wearable Tech Virtual Reality Gear, not for overall products.
It's still selling way better than I expected though, for a while after the sale amazon was sold out of six foot hdmi extension cables. I get the feeling it's in part related.
It's still selling way better than I expected though
Why were you expecting less? I think it's a given that it will sell very well at the price since it's the best VR headset at that price point.
Why were you expecting less? I think it's a given that it will sell very well at the price since it's the best VR headset at that price point.
Tbh it surprised me that the difference between $600 and $400 is enough to make people lose their shit and back up Rift orders into mid-August. Hell, I'm just waiting to see how much my books for this semester cost and after I get those I'm probably going to spring for a Rift like everyone else. [editline]a[/editline] Assuming the sale doesn't end before I can, that is. If that ends up being the case I think I'm just gonna do some PC peripheral upgrades so that I have a keyboard that's not broken and a headset that isn't louder in one ear if I turn down the volume and a chair that doesn't lose its back support and constantly feel like it's gonna break. Between those options, I'd rather have the peripheral that keeps me out of my sit-and-be-lazy station rather than better peripherals that keep me in.
Honestly while I hate the walled garden it’s giving a boost to vr that it needed It’s the main reason I haven’t touched oculus software wise. if they open up the platform I would have zero issue with oculus
Why were you expecting less? I think it's a given that it will sell very well at the price since it's the best VR headset at that price point.
I thought the price of a pc would be a high enough barrier to keep it sold lower than the psvr, but I'm glad to see it's not! They sold through their initial inventory really fast it seems, it took me the over 20 days to get it off amazon.
I wish it also provides the same deal at Best Buy because the waiting is the hardest part.
I think they do in the states, and even throw in a copy of eve Valkyrie. The shipping estimates I'm seeing suggest it'll take about a week.
