I love the internet so much
Feral Rites price dropped from $49.99 to $29.99 on the Oculus store. If you bought it with the original price, you're getting free games.
Damn. Judging from this reaction and how big of a reward you get for buying at the original price, I imagine only a few dozen people must've bought it at first.
Is Oculus Touch nearly out?

Oculus Connect is early next month. Pre-orders will likely start around that period. Rumour is that they'll ship late November.
I'm about to enter an exclusive club of VR psychonauts. Wish me luck, brothers. Game/experience recommendations are appreciated.

A "next-gen" VR FPS coming out four or five months into 2017. It would be great to see a more AAA Onward
[editline]17th September 2016[/editline]
It seems to be a Sci-Fi game tho
I just want a vr game that's basically a mix of Dwarf Fortress random generation awesomeness in VR as a sort of Star Trek game, where I captain a starship and can go down to planets and deal with some weird social-commentary-esque situations with local fauna.
Or go into action scenarios ala Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force.
I wouldn't mind if it wasn't randomly generated though.
Well, there is that official Star Trek game. As far as I know it's just the command deck, though, where you control one stationary bridge member as a team.

Well, I was sort of hoping for a game where you work from the ground up, being an ensign to other roles, to being a captain.

Lighthouse B didn't make it. He was a good Lighthouse, resilient, but in the end we pushed him much too hard.
Got my vive arriving tomorrow! Does anyone know if it's safe to just pin the lighthouses to the wall? Using something like these:
http://www.diy.com/departments/bq-picture-pin-pack-of-6/241401_BQ.prd?ecamp=Seapla&ppc_type=shopping&ds_kids=92700014010112902&gclid=Cj0KEQjw9vi-BRCx1_GZgN7N4voBEiQAaACKVqOw-IBXyQXsP_5d9xACFCjapiimpywTRK8IUumlcrgaAg_B8P8HAQ&dclid=CMib35LTmM8CFQSM7QodA48LeA
Not really got anywhere to mount them otherwise!
I'm thinking I'll pick up SPT and Onward for sure, then I'm looking at Vanishing Realms, Raw Data, Holopoint and Out of Ammo. Any recommendations? Cosmic Trip looks beautiful but I've not actually heard any buzz surrounding it.
Also does anyone know if it still includes the bundle with Tiltbrush? I got it from Overclockers if that makes a difference.

Dropped it or some other malfunction?

Lighthouse units weigh around 320 grams apparently, you mostly want to make sure they don't get loose due to vibrations.

I can't recommend Audioshield enough.

Current bundle is Tiltbrush, Zombie training whatever and The Gallery, i doubt it's changed yet.
As for those pins, they seem a little dicey, those lighthouses vibrate a fair bit, definitely look at something more sturdy, personally im just using one tripod at one end of the room thats a meter high, the other is clipped to my bookshelf which is probably at/around 190cm and that works fine.
Speaking of Onward i got my first few kills today, felt great!
I can't recommend Audioshield enough.
Second this. Wasnt interested at the time, but my then girlfriend wanted to play i t so I got it anyway. It's currently my most played vive game.
Do yourself a favor and setup the youtube hack for it, much better then everybody's shitty covers on soundcloud
audioshield's good, I don't like recommending it cause the devs been silent for months and it's worrying.

It was buzzing the past week, got real loud and then something rattled loose inside. We'll see if HTC believes me when I say I never dropped it, but then again I cant really provide an accurate recollection of what happened myself :v:

The guy needs to improve the algorithm and stop being such a horrible developer. Zero real updates to such a popular title is such a joke IMO. Almost as bad as Vivespray.

The game is worth it in its current state, the bugs that are there can be worked around, but it'd be nice if they got fixed.
Someone on reddit said that there have been a lot of commits to an Audioshield dev build lately. He's working on something.

Looks like there's at least something happening yeah, but right now it's just pretty much the same as on launch.
[editline]18th September 2016[/editline]
The orbs don't feel like they match the song, really. That's my main issue. Maybe maps should be generated manually, like osu!.
Just bought it, and yeah, orbs often are mismatched. Only some songs play great.

Ah damn, that's a shame. I'd've thought if picture pins could support a huge framed painting they'd manage the lighthouses :(
I wonder if there's anything not too expensive that I could pick up in wilkinsons tomorrow.

The Vive does come with a mounting kit for the lighthouses. It requires a drill though. The only reason to use anything else would be for portability imo.

Yeah, unfortunately my landlord won't let us do any drilling :(
I was thinking I could just pin them instead of using screws but I guess that's not advisable.
I've been reading around and for the short term (it's arriving tomorrow) it's fine to just use them at a lower height?
I need this game

The only reason they suggest installing them high up is to minimize the chances of occlusion, especially as the controllers get closer to the ground, as far as regular tracking goes there's no difference whatsoever
You can also just put them on a shelf and summarily secure them, worst that can happen is you might have to redo the room setup from time to time if they move around a little bit
Properly securing them to a wall is preferred but you do what you gotta do, they still work

I should buy Onward tomorrow :v:
I couldn't stand the trackpad movement.
I couldn't stand the trackpad movement.
Yeah, I'm first going to see if my Touch controllers are supported properly. The thing with free movement controls though: when they map it to pressing the touchpad on the Vive controller, it automatically maps to pressing the analog stick on the Touch, which obviously is not what you want in that case (simply moving the analog stick in the correct direction should be enough). It's already fiddly when I try to select a weapon in Space Pirate Trainer.
So after a leak from a German retailer "Media Markt" which put the Rift Touch Controller at 200€ there is now a 2nd "leak" from another big German retailer "Saturn" which also says 200€.
