So after a leak from a German retailer "Media Markt" which put the Rift Touch Controller at 200€ there is now a 2nd "leak" from another big German retailer "Saturn" which also says 200€. The price and images have been removed but the link is still active. http://www.saturn.de/de/product/_oculus-touch-controller-2177012.html
Media Markt and Saturn are the same company.
Media Markt and Saturn are the same company.
They are but to a degree it is still interesting that the same kind of leak happens on their other site.
Hot off the presses, possible upgrades to vive tracking with cheap integrated circuits you can buy now. http://www.roadtovr.com/lighthouse-chip-triad-ts3633-steamvr-htc-vive-2-cost-reduction-improved-vr-tracking/
They better not price the Oculus touch at £200. I will flip their phecking coffee tables.
If Oculus Touch is actually 200 euros then the VIVE package is actually cheaper than buying individual Rift and Touch with shipping costs in the EU.
Excited to see improvements so soon to the vive hardware. I'd love to see those cost and tracking improvements as it can be fiddly for some people in certain environments.

It's a bit of a shot in the foot if it's that much more, though I'd have expected something closer to 150 than 100 [editline]e[/editline] https://www.oculus.com/experiences/section/758729984265472/?oculus.com%2F%3Futm_source=fb&utm_medium=ad&utm_term=rift&utm_campaign=fallsale oculus fall sale ends tomorrow by the by
This guy has several of these clips now. I should buy Onward tomorrow :v:
The timing on that was perfect
man it sucks that people like that are in vr now
Excited to see improvements so soon to the vive hardware. Bad news that the rift is going to cost more for the complete system but it does have the hand tracking hardware built in I suppose.
There's still a good chance of a combined bundle for cheaper than buying goggles+hands separately. We'll find out at Connect 3.
There's still a good chance of a combined bundle for cheaper than buying goggles+hands separately. We'll find out at Connect 3.
True, doesn't help the earliest adopters that bought it beforehand but they could offer a discount for a limited time or something ofc
I don't think they'd want to screw over their preorderers after all the drama with delays. If there's a bundled price I expect that preorderers of the Rift would receive an according discount if preordering Touch. There is a spot on our preorder order pages noting that our "places in line for Touch" are saved.
A discount for Rift pre-orderers would be pretty rad. I doubt it'll happen but still. Would be rad.
I've been calling it from the beginning that Oculus + Touch + Shipping will cost the same or more than the Vive.
I've been calling it from the beginning that Oculus + Touch + Shipping will cost the same or more than the Vive.
Did anyone say different though? Sentiment seemed to be 'we don't know for sure but likely'. Let's see what the bundle will cost, if they have one (and why wouldn't they).
Oculus is rolling out a major fix which removes the "red tint" issues many have had. Everyone should have it within the next few days.
The previous German store leak of 199€ seems to be further confirmed by this. [editline]20th September 2016[/editline] Brits are getting fucked over by the Pound drops. [editline]20th September 2016[/editline] £190 is something like $250 at the moment, 190€ is around $220 [editline]20th September 2016[/editline] And you can be sure it'll be $199 in the US. [editline]20th September 2016[/editline] Interesting, the rest of the sign:
what does the sign under it say? "get rift ???ss than?"

The bit underneath was promoting a 24-month payment plan (for the regular Rift pack).

Makes the price for the whole package comparable to the Vive right?

Yep, £759 (Vive) versus £750ish (Rift).
Ffffffffffphuck. In other news my wage goes up at the end of this month. Have since stopped caring. :)
Yep, £759 (Vive) versus £750ish (Rift).
Now there was still no mention of additional cameras for the Rift was there? So if you want to actually add room scale you have to buy at least another camera.
Now there was still no mention of additional cameras for the Rift was there? So if you want to actually add room scale you have to buy at least another camera.
No, it comes with a camera and the 2 controllers. So you'll have 2 Rift cameras (original rift cam + touch cam).
Now there was still no mention of additional cameras for the Rift was there? So if you want to actually add room scale you have to buy at least another camera.
No, Touch comes with a second camera in the box.
Oh well, ignore my post then.
Some dude with a Trump avatar kept playing random voice lines from his speeches [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/orkel_1474517451.png[/t]
what's that in?
I want to say it looks like Second Life but I've never played SL and I don't know if it supports VR
I want to say it looks like Second Life but I've never played SL and I don't know if it supports VR
SL has a beta browser that was compatible with the DK2 last I remember, it was one of those janky situations where they just have the normal UI, but it's floating a foot in front of your face but it's also like 8 feet wide and tall so you have to crank your neck to look around, hoping it's not clipping into random shit
Pretty sure its VRChat.
what's that in?
VRchat. There was a VR dev interview event in the Gunther's Universe room (in pic)
Trying out Vivecraft. It's goddamned amazing. It's an actual, full game, and it feels like I've went into an entirely different world. Almost lost my little house because I couldn't help but explore. It even got to feel eerie, being in this world I know nothing about.
