That's really weird, my experience was the polar opposite. Just got my Lighthouse back this morning, I sent them a system report and a photo of the unit and I was done. [editline]29th September 2016[/editline] I'm curious how it took 2 months to get a freight notice tbh. How many representatives did you talk to? If someone told me to Google the service address I'd tell them they're a moron and reconnect.
I talked to maybe 3-4 different representatives, which said they were going to get back to me. Though, I didn't really chase them either because I've talked to the customer and he wasn't really in a rush to get a replacement USB adapter, so I just waited.. until I lost my patience and called them twice a day. And everyone I talked to told me the same thing. Google HTC Customer Service Mail. I even had the mail, but no, I was supposed to google it. And yes, when I finally got some mail contact with a person, he/she wrote in the worst possible google translated Swedish you can find. "I well sent you instuktion on senting you're vive on repair" I don't know if HTC support is better in other countries, but the swedish support is horrendus. I've worked in retail for almost 8 years and HTC has always been the worst when it comes to RMA's. In my experience.
viveport has launched, seems like it uses the shitty Vive Home software that I wouldn't recommend installing to download/install stuff. launch deals: Mars Odyssey - $1.00 - https://www.viveport.com/apps/9f28fb0c-7627-44b6-9b22-e25de6e93f50 theBlu - $1.00 - https://www.viveport.com/apps/1b591122-7ab7-4c27-9d31-cbaf9ef8e1e1 The Music Room Mini - $1.00 - https://www.viveport.com/apps/7b1b346e-c9dd-46d6-9967-63523230d2b8 Firebird - La Peri - $1.00 - https://www.viveport.com/apps/b701bb19-88a0-4324-9ffe-af81025b2ecf Stonehenge VR - $1.00 - https://www.viveport.com/apps/e67643a7-4aaf-450f-b955-536925dd02b0 nothing worthwhile imo except theBlu if you're into that / demo VR a lot
Seems Carmack's talk is no longer part of the opening keynote, instead he does the closing keynote at the end of Friday. That way he can go on as long as he wants :v:
next week is gonna be packed oct 4th with google dropping phones, a new Operating system built for PCs/Mobile phones with vr capabilities (Google Andromeda) , and their VR system (Google Daydream). then oculus gonna be talking about stuff for 3 days i wonder whats happening with rockband vr

Soundcloud loss is so minor, I don't really understand why people are flipping a shit about it. I've been using the youtube hack for months and it's infinitely better then finding 300 teenager covers of a song I wanted to do.
it seems Soundcloud themselves are blocking audioshield from using their API
I've heard that Soundcloud is limiting their API, The guy did it for audiosurf as well. Roll20 had to pull their support too
Any of the vivecraft folk looking to play this weekend? I'm thinking of setting up tonight or one of the days on the weekend. I'm in west coast NA (PST)
I've heard that Soundcloud is limiting their API, The guy did it for audiosurf as well. Roll20 had to pull their support too
knowing soundcloud, I'd assume it was too open of a door and kept enabling song downloading tools or something stupid the irony is now more people will be seeking out soundcloud downloaders instead of using services that access it legally

[editline]30th September 2016[/editline] They already rolled out a hotfix hours ago according to the staff in the comments. [editline]30th September 2016[/editline] Oculus Connect 3 schedule is up. https://www.oculusconnect.com/#schedule Keynote on Thrusday at 10:00 AM PDT, 17:00 UTC, lasts 2 hours.
what a shame, looks like it cleared that second place position i had on expert mod in the fire and the flames that i worked so hard on. and right now there isn't a single person who played it on expert mod so that means i can't compete with anybody (hopefully this will change). oh well

Apparently the new Elite difficulty has you doing uppercuts.
Looks like the difficulty got cranked up. Apparently the new Elite difficulty has you doing uppercuts.
from my experience, no it is not any more difficult than the expert mod. actually, i think it is even easier than expert mod.
Haven't seen this posted here:
Holy shit it is surreal seeing this here. The CEO is one of my uni friends, he's like 20.
Touch now verified with the FCC Another game launches with Touch support on October 21st
quite a strange thought that Touch could be in consumer hands in under a month with all the hush about it, no doubt a more reserved response resulting from the bad headset shipping fiasco i'm not placing any bets on it one way or another

Everything pointed to it being an issue with a specific supplier not being able to deliver at a critical time, rather than Oculus mismanaging the supply chain.

Im shitting [editline]1st October 2016[/editline] Except back then someone described it as a suit filled with a liquid that would harden on electrical stimulation or something equally as ridiculous and unconventional
I just ran the SteamVR Performance Test and passed with flying colors. However, for some reason it listed my GTX 980 instead of my GTX 1080. I use the 980 as a dedicated PhysX card (it is set as that through NVIDIA control panel). Is this a bug or is my 980 somehow set as the default GPU?
I just want Touch to hurry up and ship so I can start playing with Medium tbh
your main monitor plugged into the 1080?
My main monitor is labeled as "display 3", but display 1 and 2 are plugged into the 980. I think that might be what's up. Though Windows does call Display 3 the "Main Display" in the display settings.
I bought Vanishing Realms earlier and was all set to love it, knowing it'd be a short but probably really rewarding experience. After 90 minutes I had to just take a moment and appreciate that I just wasn't having any fun, for some reason. Decided to get a refund and now I'm contemplating getting Out of Ammo or Raw Data.
Out of Ammo and Raw Data have the same problems of being underdeveloped and progress has been painfully slow. Both very interesting games but I can't say I don't regret buying them at this point in time
Out of Ammo and Raw Data have the same problems of being underdeveloped and progress has been painfully slow. Both very interesting games but I can't say I don't regret buying them at this point in time
That sucks! I'm mostly worried that they'll only scratch the same itch as SPT (which I looove) so there's not much point. Hrm. I've tried a little Minecraft and although I don't get nausea, I do start feeling pretty groggy after a 20 mins or so. :( [editline]3rd October 2016[/editline] I think what I really want is someone to smash Onward's PVP with SPT's beautiful design/setting. Maybe it's just not my bag but despite Onward being probably the most fun I've had in VR, its art direction is soooo uninspiring.
I'm wanting to get a vive but I don't ever have that much cash at one point with my current job. I wish there was a way to buy it and pay it off monthly but whatever. What games are there for it that are must haves? I've been looking at stuff like Onward, Tiltbrush, and H3 but I think I need more justification then that before buying one.

As soon as I get my Vive, that's one of the first things I will be trying out. You can even play some N64 games on it. Not sure how bad motion sickness is on VR, but it seems like a lot of the emulations on this will probably get you there if you've got a weak stomach.

Metroid Prime?
