Holy crap, Accounting seems awesome and fucking hilarious, yet another game that keeps increasing the amount at which I really fucking want a Vive.
With dialogue totaled up, it's like 40 minutes to an hour of Justin Roiland making what he does best. It's quite good.
tried to play accounting and my room is just too small, so most things were out of my reach. I'll have to move into my living room to try it out. Had great fun in rec room though!
Yeah they say you need 2m x 1.5m but even with my 2m x 2m I sometimes had to reach beyond my chaperone.

Yeah, I think all games should come with an option to enable teleporting. Moving my PC into my living room is a pain in the ass.
One of the people with us had even done incredible well in competitive gaming in the past but I had to explain to him after a particularly messy round of raw data (his first attempt) how to load the gun.
"Do magazines amorphously absorb through the handles of a pistol sideways"
"Oh shit, it's actually that realistic?"
"Yes put the magazine in the bottom"
v:v:v
Yeah it seems like a lot of issues are caused by VR being too real and people simply expecting there to be some button to press. It's like no matter how much I tell people "it's just like real life. Just squeeze it and pick the thing up" it doesn't register lol

For a second I thought the picture was using the person to scale.

aerodynamic muscular backpack of braveness? sign me up
Jesus Christ that description sounds like something that would come from Japanese marketing.

Showed another customer the blu to showcase VR capabilities, I swear it never gets old showing someone from the baby boomer generation VR. It just blows their minds to such an extreme level

I'm surprised my mom picked up on it as quick as she did, too. She was amazed by TheBlu's migration episode
[editline]21st October 2016[/editline]
Speaking of, they need to make more content for TheBlu. I'd love an encounter with a shark, or a shallow reef. Honestly, the whale encounter, because of the lighting and the intro, blows my mind every time I do it, where it fades in and you're just looking over the edge of this sunken ship into a dark abyss

They did recently update the luminous abyss one with a new major creature, which is nice. Still, they call it "season 1" currently so I presume that indicates they're planning on creating new ocean content in the future which I'll happily buy as long as it's reasonably priced, they make fantastic environments
Going to try and convince my boss to let me bring our spare vive to show my grandfather this weekend, I can't imagine what it would mean to someone who operated radars in london during world war 2 to see how far consumer technology has come
Every antialiasing mode in Elite Dangerous looks like crap. Supersampling gets rid of the jaggies but it's a huge performance hit even on a 1070.

Does injectSMAA and other post-processing AA work with VR games? Or does it make the image blurry?
So the owner of that VR arcade I was talking about was asking me about if I had any suggestions for next week's game of the week, since I've gotten the high score for this week in Space Pirate Trainer, does anyone know of some fun 5-10 min play session games? Stuff arcadey like SPT, or Brookhaven, we were thinking of having Wrath of the Fire God but I wanna know if you guys have any suggestions.
So apparently with Serious Sam VR, they have Liquid VR with two GPU's working at nearly 100% scaling.

TBH the longbow demo in the lab is so good (and has a highscore table), that despite just being a minigame I'd totally have a competition with it. I think we're planning on doing that in my office at some point
side note: VR mission is a go, boss agreed to let me borrow our spare vive system. Sitting in my hallway right now, going to surprise my grandpa

Zombie Training Simulator is really arcadey, got a few different game modes too.
I decided to go in today and talk to him. Basically we're gonna spend tomorrow testing out different games since tomorrow's the last day for the week. I'll let him know about the suggestions, I appreciate it!

Holopoint, Serious Sam VR, maybe Audioshield?
Apparently Knoxville is better than Atlanta. My mom is getting to try the new controllers before I do, since I'm away in Atlanta on an internship.
:(
I haven't seen this posted here, but apparently the co-founder of HTC said they sold 140 000 units so far.

Mission complete! Surprised my grandpa with a gift and the VR demo. It was hard for him to adjust to given how low tech their daily life was but the whale demo in the blu was an incredible experience. Some other old folks who lived next to my grandpa when I was a kid came over for a short visit coincidentally and so we passed the demo around, everyone was really excited about it. Jellyfish bothering in the migration demo in the blu was also a big hit :v:. Was a lot of fun talking to my grandpa about what it was like going from world war 2 era technology to consumer virtual reality, really glad I could pull that off on short notice

giving Cardboard VR a new meaning
[sp]and demonstrating yet again that Touch works great regarding occlusions[/sp]
Tried windlands again and managed to actually play. Only lasted about 5-10 minutes before getting a bit sick though. I feel like after a few more sessions I should be okay, the swinging was really fun.
Started playing Valkyrie again, carrier assault really was what the game needed.

A little disingenuous, given that the creator said "there are a lot of problems with occlusion and i would like to see if the vive trackers do any better so i'll likely try this again later at work where i've got access to a vive setup."
It's a novel idea though, I quite like the thought of incorporating real objects
