how in the fuck do you use the spear and warhammer in gorn? it feels more like my inputs are suggestions for where they should go
had a vive for 2.5 hours and I've already walked into a wall and also hit a wall with a controller
thanks gorn
The warhammer's kinda shitty right now but yeah with the spear you just have to hold it with one hand at the very back-tip of the spear and the other holding the spear just below the spearhead. Then to strike, you hold your spearhead hand in place and push the spear forward using your other hand. Aim for the head because you can pull the guy's head off and net an instant kill.
Also here's a protip to avoid hitting things: Set your chaperone boundary to dev mode and then set it to always-on. That way you just have a constant blue line on the ground to keep you oriented and it doesn't take your immersion away.
I spent a few hours moving my desk into my living room for an extra metre in each direction, made a huge difference.
Is there a tool I can use to see the field of view of my base stations? They're on the floor right now (tilted up) which works fine 99% of the time but occasionally I get into a spot where suddenly a controller is in the wrong place or I start bouncing around all over the place.

You mean sorta like using a pool cue? I'll try that and see if it works for me, cheers :)

if i remember correctly one of the top rated base station skins on the workshop has a fov visualizer, might try looking there
So. just finished the gallery episode 1. and holy fuck if this is just a glimpse of the future of VR adventure games / story telling then i REALLY cant wait for the tech to mature a bit more and truly be inmersed in a whole different world
Is this game really that good? Only played it for like 5 minutes before my tracking got all goofy and I took a break from VR.
How much play time did you get out of it?

SteamVR > Settings > Developer > Room Overview
Will give you a nice map of your room, including your base stations and their FOV. Super helpful for making sure your play area is totally covered by both stations!
I've been doing poor mans VR lately using Riftcat, it's okay, can't read shit in Elite Dangerous at all.
I'm really sweaty right now after playing some Sword Master VR. This is cool as shit.
I'm dreading the moment I have to manage 4 huge guys swinging at me, I'm too unfit for this.
I always got crazy sweaty playing out of ammo, I'm kinda wondering if I'll lose a bit of weight dicking around with my vive when it gets here.
So i know my roommates are gonna want to try the vive--what's a good cleanable face cover for the vive?

Bought the vive version and they were easy to put on and are great quality too.

Based on steam it took me 115 minutes to finish it. And even then i rushed trough the starting section becouse i had alredy played it at a friend house. The only time my tracking went batshit insane was when i had my settings all maxed out (which my GPU dident really like ) but besides that it was a very smooth experience
Dante from Onward is gonna be working on his game at Valve:

Not sure what this means, but it's probably going to be amazing.
Well, I hope that means game is going to get any good. Right now it's a mess, and updates are slow.

Valve seems to invite indies over to their office to provide work space and allow them to mingle with others. Tom Francis (Gunpoint, now working Heat Signature) is also going there for a few months apparently.
Are they going to do the whole "adopt the team and absorb the project" thing that gets them all their IPs?

Dude seriously! I really want to enjoy Onward but it's unplayable with a WiFi dongle due to the most bizarre and frankly stupid bug I've ever seen in a game, and the guy never responds or acknowledges it. I post in their Discord weekly asking if it's been/being addressed and get nothing back, I'm just grateful Steam let me refund.
Space pirate trainer is on a daily deal atm in the Oculus store, grabbed it. My leg cramped from the dodging and I fell down in pain and got shot
Good game

Man, that game gets hectic as fuck
A (bigger) friend of mine played it for like an hour straight and the headset was absolutely drenched :c

Using the sword and shotgun combination is hilarious because you basically just pull robots until they're at your feet and nonchalantly blast their shit up with a point blank shotgun discharge right in their stupid face.
today my sister punched the shit out of my monitor, knocking it back six inches, but somehow everything seems undamaged
How many people here up for a FPVR discord ?

there already is/was one, it died as soon as it started.

Yeah cause I wasn't in it rousing people up to start pointless arguments all the time :v:
There's a possibility that my Rift's cable croaked. Everything shows as connected, just not the HDMI. This has happened a couple times in the past, but it was usually fixed by re-seating the cable into the headset behind the facial foam, and/or restarting the PC, seems it finally died for good. Oculus support will send me a new one and hopefully it'll work properly.
[editline]1st January 2017[/editline]
There were apparently faulty cables in the first batches back in January, so it's possible mine had one of those.

I wonder if you would still be able to use super-sampling with a wireless headset

Since no more pixels are being sent to the headset, I'm assume so.

Hm, less that 12ms of latency. For reference, 1 frame at 90 fps is 11.1111ms.
