dming dnd5e last night two members of the party gained madness from a vision, causing one to go on a rampage for 2 minutes where he was attacking the closest person to him, and the other to become incapacitated from laughter and crying for 7 minutes cue one guy just beating the shit out of the other guy who is on the floor laughing party attempts to solve situation by using sleep targeted on them both, which fails to hit the rampaging guy but puts the crying player to sleep, who is immediately awoken when the rampaging guy scorching rayed his face again, and proceeds to continue crying party eventually resolves the problem by grappling the rampaging player from behind, and then having another player "work the body" for about 4 rounds (beating the living shit out of him with their fists), eventually knocking him unconscious and giving him internal injuries (the working the body process is aided by a wizard who was constantly blasting him with 'Chilling Touch', claiming that it was non-lethal necrotic damage and that "he'll be fine") and i'm just sitting there with my head in my hands going "it was a DC10 wisdom save guys, DC10" party discovered a +2 shortsword, at which point the party all revealed that they were all secretly using shortswords, and that they should be the one to receive the shortsword shortsword is eventually given to fighter who uses shortswords
Sometimes I worry if the jobs I give my Shadowrun group are too hardcore Then I give them most of the details for their next job (a prisoner extract from a japanese naval base) and they proceed to begin developing a plan involving using their submarine to board and hijack the destroyer sitting in the harbor, use it to bombard the bases' AA facilities into dust, deploy their VTOL to air-drop hat's new Juggernaut combat drone, while the sniper picks off guards from outside the base and generally all hell breaks loose And that's only like, stage 1. Really there are times when I go 'god I shouldn't have given them all that loot and cash' but then they come up with stuff like this and I have no regrets

I think the closest we ever got was that mission in Boston in Kila's game. Maybe the last mission. But most of them were just running in guns blazing and hoping for the best, iirc. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I'm a fan of planning things out, even if they do inevitably go to shit. :dog:
Last Saturday was a fun session. Almost had a party wipe but I decided to be nice and have some of the enemies back off, since most of their allies were killed. The party took a wrong turn and ended up in the line of sight of two hostile groups of monsters. I assumed they'd back off, maybe let the monsters kill each other. Nope, they went for it. The Half-Orc barbarian and the Dwarf fighter went for the Goor, a big fish monster that oozes living, exploding slimes out of its back every few rounds, and the Tiefling necromancer, Human polearm master, and Half-elf ranger went after the other group, a squad of Embermen, essentially fiery lizard people who worship fire and hate most other sentient life. Right at the beginning of the battle, the Embermen had a member in their squad called a Deathcaller who could Dominate undead. He dominated the Necromancer's skeleton, which then nearly killed said Necromancer. The Barbarian got shat on by the Goor, and drew out of the fight a round or two later, and then another round or two and the Dwarf Fighter ran off too. They just sat in some ruined buildings about 50 feet away, after the Half-orc threw both of his weapons at the Goor. The ranger took a hit, and had plenty of HP left, but withdrew anyway. The Polearm Master killed about half of the Embermen by herself. The Necromancer spent half his turns healing the Polearm Master, and the other half trying to redominate his skeleton, but the skeleton kept making its save. Eventually the last Emberman backed off, but the Skeleton was an intelligent undead, so even after the Deathcaller died, it was still hostile and still had to be dominated. It tried to kill the Necromancer and very nearly did, but the Necromancer managed to fuck off out of its range, so the skeleton instead charged the Dwarf Fighter, who was leaning on a wall trying to act casual. Said Dwarf was knocked to the floor and put in the dying state. A round or two later, the Necromancer redominated his skeleton, and now has to figure out a way to imbue his skellies with a self-destruct sequence. Oh, and the Ranger snapped his bowstring. It was a fun session.
I am an absolute beginner at DnD (having never played it before) and after recently wanting to get into it, I was wondering where to go from there. I signed up to roll20 as I heard it was a decent place to begin. Really, I want my first experience to be with some folks I know in a comfortable environment.

The biggest troubles i've had so far with online D&D are probably pretty standard ones: Finding games that go with your schedule, and then getting accepted into those games. seems to always be a lack of DMs.
Biggest problem with online games is that people often think that just because they aren't meeting in person, they can flake out without telling anyone. I've been guilty of this too, it's a *huge* problem.
I'm looking at some 3rd party races for pathfinder, I kind of want to play something that isn't just a human/elf/orc or whatever but Jesus some of these 3rd party races are hilarious

Question about D&D 5e [t]http://puu.sh/nd6bx/040b7bfb4c.png[/t] Do I add my casting stat to the damage stat or leave it blank?
i made yet another D&D t-shirt. this time it's a medieval style engraving (or AD&D 1.0 monstrous manual inspired) beholder. [t]http://ih1.redbubble.net/image.194276862.4167/ra,unisex_tshirt,x3104,fafafa:ca443f4786,front-c,650,630,900,975-bg,f8f8f8.jpg[/t] [sp]not just a t-shirt but also available as a hardcover journal, spiral notebook and mug.[/sp] also i got a commission to draw some D&D related stuff. i'm going to be illustrating pages of a monster compendium, based on those 18th century fauna/flora compendiums. the guy is going to frame and decorate his house with those, p neat! i'm going to age the pages also for a more authentic look, add fake mold, etc.
I drew my lizardfolk gunslinger Also the icon for the online campaign manager thing we use Come to think of it if any of you wanted a character drawn I'd gladly do it in exchange for Steam games or something
I seem to have this recuring problem with GM's: I use my own/character's ingenuity to get nice things. The group get's a big group-loot at the end of things. There is stuff for everyone. Except me. I've got stuff. I'm playing a LE character this game too. My bond with the party was that I got cheated out of the profits. Now I am arguably the better off character in terms of stuff (Our Rogue is probably better off than me with loot, We've a Ranger who rolled for god with stats, a warforged who's a few steps behind everyone and a monk who's only a little better) but still... My character's a guy who hates to be cheated. If it wouldn't spoil it for the rest of players, I'd probably kill half of them. More anoyingly, DND (or at least my storytellers) hasn't really done inner-party social conflict well. I'd love to have my character argue about who gets what, but it just seems that loot gets allocated/first player to say 'mine' wins and that's the end of it. Like, I get that I'm level 5, have full plate, a magic sword and some nice throwing axes (which started breaking when the GM realized i was enjoying +2 to hit too much.) But... the character doesn't need combat loot. Just give him a mug of ale that's never empty or a trophy he can wear, or a rare book or some alchemy things or some item that increases a misc stat/adds flavour to things. A character shouldn't be denied rewards for prior gains. now that i've said all that, is it fair to use here to vent?

So I'm pretty sure our DM is waving the magical weapon carrot in front of me, since in my characters most recent vision he described a house in a city that housed the mystical macguffin man who rescued us from jail, standing beside a flaming sword and a shield with a dragon crest on it. I'm weary of us going there, but I want those imaginary shineies so baaaaaad.

But in my old group, 'rat bait' was used to refer to probably-trapped macguffins because I was so often the one to trigger them. :dog:

How the hell do I add upgrades to drones in chummer, like the CU^3 drone has an optional upgrade that gives it 4 pilot and 4 clearsight for an extra 3k
How the hell do I add upgrades to drones in chummer, like the CU^3 drone has an optional upgrade that gives it 4 pilot and 4 clearsight for an extra 3k
"Print" the sheet as a plain text XML/HTML document and edit it, Chummer just can't do a lot of stuff unfortunately, you can do the bulk of most characters in Chummer but custom stuff is far easier to just write in.
So hear me out here, need some help with my character. Over a year ago me and my housemates started playing D&D, I started with my first character ever: a wizard, and since then things rolled forward. In that year over 20 other party characters died in our DnD campaign. Yet I'm still trucking along with my first character ever. Now the point has come where everyone is somewhat sneakingly trying to get me killed, to the point that my character lost his right arm last session. Now i've been given the chance to get a prosthetic replacement and enchant/engineer something fancy. However im a bit dumbfounded as to what actually do with it and searching the net I haven't found anything useful information wise as what I can do. To elaborate about my DnD character: Lvl 16 Wizard, severly traumatized by seeing everything he ever hold dear die in the most gruesome ways. known across the land as a hero while actually being quite the coward. As for his skills hes a Force magic missile mage/stormer, as basically al I do is stand back shit out the most consistent damage along with healing and buffing the party. Help me out, what cool things can I do with a prosthetic limb for my wizard?
Weaponize it, add a hook or gripping element and use your magic to toss it at people. When it hooks onto their neck/clothes/limbs go nuts with it. Also you could make it into a sick grappling hook if you have supply of rope to feed into it. Optionally, add mundane or magical explosive element to it. Or just go for the old classic dagger hand.
