So hear me out here, need some help with my character.
Over a year ago me and my housemates started playing D&D, I started with my first character ever: a wizard, and since then things rolled forward. In that year over 20 other party characters died in our DnD campaign. Yet I'm still trucking along with my first character ever. Now the point has come where everyone is somewhat sneakingly trying to get me killed, to the point that my character lost his right arm last session.
Now i've been given the chance to get a prosthetic replacement and enchant/engineer something fancy. However im a bit dumbfounded as to what actually do with it and searching the net I haven't found anything useful information wise as what I can do.
To elaborate about my DnD character: Lvl 16 Wizard, severly traumatized by seeing everything he ever hold dear die in the most gruesome ways. known across the land as a hero while actually being quite the coward. As for his skills hes a Force magic missile mage/stormer, as basically al I do is stand back shit out the most consistent damage along with healing and buffing the party.
Help me out, what cool things can I do with a prosthetic limb for my wizard?
Conceal a wand inside the prosthetic, disarming you now has to be literal.

have your one arm split into two.
Either that, or a mass of tendrils.
or a kind of spike/plug/hook that you can insert into the heads of your enemies to take control of them. yep. That sounds cool.

Like, I get that I'm level 5, have full plate, a magic sword and some nice throwing axes
things like this always make me feel like the dm isn't doing it right
i mean, everyone's campaign is going to be very different with rules and lore etc, but full plate is like end-game armour, there isn't any better armour than fullplate in its base form. (not counting enchantments etc) so the fact youve managed to get fullplate at level 5 is staggering to me, i have a level 5 character in a campaign ive been doing for ages and i recently spent all of my gold to get band-mail and recently found a sword with an ignite enchantment, which is the only enchanted weapon ive seen all campaign. my point is that when the better equipment is treat as such finally finding something good like an enchanted weapon or finally getting enough money for an armour upgrade it feels really rewarding and satisfying, like youve really earned it
i mean this isnt particularly pointed at you specifically i guess if theres some major reason behind having full plate then its cool

that highly depends on what edition you're playing
In 3rd edition/pathfinder, you will probably have full-plate by 3rd level if you invested heavily in it, or 4th otherwise.
It's really not end-game armor though, in any edition, although in most other editions you probably would get it slightly later than you would in 3rd. No matter the edition though, it's not even remotely close to being the best armor there is. It's the best mundane armor there is, but that's it.
And no matter which edition you're playing, 3rd level is about the highest any regular human being could ever realistically achieve. Anything higher than that and you're taking the step into becoming what can only be described as a mythological hero.
Makes perfect sense to me that a fighter who invested into it would get himself a set of the best mundane armor you can get around the same time he reaches the heights of how powerful any mundane person could be.

Well, assuming Pathfinder, a +1 chain shirt is +5AC for 1250g with -1 ACP, mundane plate mail is 1500g for +9, reduces your speed by about a third and has a -6 ACP which is generally crippling to skills affected by that, -5 if you spend another 150g for masterwork. Full plate is fairly balanced for the price.

Eh, I've always seen it as your stats go from average human at 10 to peak human at 20.
Eh, I've always seen it as your stats go from average human at 10 to peak human at 20.
18 is the peak of human ability, 20 is slightly superhuman. You can think otherwise, but as far as D&D is concerned you're wrong. 18 has been defined as the highest any normal human is able to have in every edition. Except maybe 4th, I don't know about, nor care about 4th edition.
Either way, there's the much more important aspect of hit points. Even a 3rd level character is kind of straddling the line on being clearly superhuman in that regard, being able to shrug off multiple hits that would incapacitate any normal person, without penalty. 4th level is when I would say all credibility is shattered in that regard.

Eh, it's not like the first post of the page is really that important
You should probably expand your search to cover more than just one site, though. Especially if that site is Roll20.
orgue trader is one kind of a game
I want to get the Chronicles of Darkness books, but they're not in print anywhere near me, so I'd have to order them from Drivethru, which besides waiting damn near a month after ordering to get, means I'd have to pay a bunch on shipping, on top of the $70 price tag per book.
Arrrgh.
on top of the $70 price tag per book.
holy shit what, are you serious thats fucking ridiculously expensive
holy shit what, are you serious thats fucking ridiculously expensive
For $20 less I can get a lower quality option, but according to the site, the pages are the same quality as paperback, which I'm iffy on.
And those are the American prices, too. With the Canadian dollar as shitty as it is, it's probably closer to $100.

pick up open broadcaster software if you don't already have it. with it you can broadcast to twitch or whatever platform of your choosing. you can also set it to automatically record footage

Also don't bother getting every book unless you intend to play every game, if you have to have physical copies.
If you wanna play Vampire or Werewolf, get their second edition core books, and maybe a handful of the 1e books.
If you wanna play Demon, get the Chronicles of Darkness core book, Demon: The Descent, Flowers of Hell, Heirs to Hell, and the Demon Storyteller's Guide.
If you wanna play Hunter, get the CofD book, Hunter: The Vigil, and Mortal Remains.
If you wanna play anything else, right now, get the World of Darkness core book, whatever splat's relevant core, and any other books you might want for it.
Exceptions are Mage, which requires additional books to be playable because the 1e core was shit(and because 2e is going to be out "soon"), and Changeling, which is entirely playable in 2e with just the CofD core book right now, due to the head dev for it posting up pretty much everything they have for it on the blog a few days ago, for open playtest purposes.
I'd probably want to play Demon or Geist, so if I do get books, I'd get those. Although that's a big maybe, since they're $80 American+shipping, so that's probably not going to happen.
On the other hand, my local game store has Lesser Shades of Evil for a reasonable price and no shipping, so I might get that...
Is a Monk + multiclassed sorcerer viable in 5e?
I still like the idea of a magic casting monk, but the four elements thing sucks.

Just about any class combination is viable is 5e.
There's also a neat homebrew that fixes the 4 elements monk, if your DM allows it.

This is only semi-related, but what are psionics like in 5th edition? I remember a psionic warrior/monk/zerth cenobite character being quite effective in 3.5e, and I feel psionics kinda fit monks thematically (mind over matter, quite literally).

Psionics are not in any of the current 5e books. WOTC released a playtest version as part of their Unearthed Arcana articles.
