confirming that mysterious artifacts with agendas of their own that are extremely powerful but also liable to have side effects are like, the most fun thing ever even if I can't use them in my games because my whole group is too paranoid to ever let me do something that entertaining, preferring to keep all potentially evil artifacts in null vaults or extradimensional spaces
One of my characters was a Human Paladin (named Orson) who found a sword of Asmodeus under the academy he was training in. The sword pretty much made Orson Lawful Evil as a result and then he ran off with it. Said sword instantly kills enemies when it crits but I had to make charisma saving throws frequently and depending on well I rolled the sword would talk to me and constantly tell me to kill shit. Orson was fun to play but sadly died due to not so bright planning from another PC and ridiculously high rolls from the DM (He got like, four crits in a row, I swear to god) he died due to a arrow to the chest (did I mention I crit failed on my death save?). His soul is still inside the sword though, so maybe someday me and the DM can come up with a story reason to bring him back.
Trying to decide on a martial art for my snek, so far it's between aikido, jujitsu, wrestling(sport), and boxing(swarmer) Like Jujitsu and wrestling has Clinch, which lets me bite easier, but Aikido has countertrike.
The counterstrike martial art doesn't stack with the counterstrike adept power by the way.
I know, I don't have the counterstrike adept power, might get it when initiating, not sure.
Alright guys, I need a bit of advice. I'm playing a Order of the Crown Paladin and I need to know what I want to be doing in terms of statistics. My primary attributes of interest are obviously Strength, Constitution, and Charisma. I'm basically the group's tank right now. Which of those should I prioritise when it comes to allocating attributes at the later levels? (I've already decided which feats I want)

Anything 3E based though and you'll want charisma jacked up for high saves and then high con for even higher fort saves, strength is going to be important for offence, dex isn't too important but reflex saves and a little more AC is nice, wisdom again for saves and a few paladin-y skills, int is likely going to be a dump stat.

It's 5e
It's 5e
Then ignore everything I just said :v:
Then ignore everything I just said :v:
It's pretty much true for 5e as well. You want Charisma for saves, because of their crazy good aura at level 5, and also for the DC of their spells and smites. You want Strength, since the best paladin weapons are melee (since smites don't work on ranged attacks, sadly). In fact, Great Weapon style is the best for them, since it lets you reroll ANY die, including bonus damage from smites or elemental damage on the weapon, or what have you. Everyone wants Con, but Dex and Int are not that important since you should be wearing heavy armor anyways, and int has no real application on a paladin outside of a very VERY tiny number of skills.

Thanks for the help
... since it lets you reroll ANY die, including bonus damage from smites or elemental damage on the weapon, or what have you. ...
This was rectified in a recent errata, you can only reroll your weapon die.
Man, who's running a Shadowrun game in here? I've been learning how to play it for a while, and was wondering if I might be able to sit in on a session to understand stuff like combat flow, so that if I join a group down the line I won't hold them back on basic mechanics. You get my promise I'll just hide in the corner and not mess with anything, as I know very few GMs are willing to let a newb participate.

Might not be much if any combat next session though as the team's between jobs but you should still get to see how things work.

Really I just need to understand how general gameplay stuff fits together.

I know from personal experience that they'll shrug off anything I throw at them and laugh about it after) assaulting a military prison. Though you'll need mumble to listen in because most of the rules yelling-about is in voice 5th edition, btw, and disclaimer I've reworked the initiative system to not be quite as ridiculously favoring of high-initiative characters so it's not obviously going straight RAW, but that's more action economy and turn order than any changes to how the rolling and combat overall works
oooh yeah if you want to see how combat goes definitely sit in on our session tomorrow, we're either gonna wipe out a small army or die in glorious fashion jk were gonna wipe out a small army ezpz
I mean, are you sure you don't want to watch the mage and decker in my group bicker? People need to fix up a drone and figure out if they can make rent or not too, the adept needs to get herself a commlink, someone might even buy a gun!
my groups keep joking about the "trigger cards" , I remember hearing about them some months ago, are there any printable or good resolution versions of said cards? i wanna make a deck on roll20 :v:
my groups keep joking about the "trigger cards" , I remember hearing about them some months ago, are there any printable or good resolution versions of said cards? i wanna make a deck on roll20 :v:
AFAIK it's just a card with an X on it that you tap when something triggering comes up in an RP session. Pathetically stupid idea, not even got any effort in it.
When?
3pm eastern, 8pm GMT, Wednesdays
mage/decker bickering is definitely the most action packed part of the game yet!
It's funny because if you two do ever throw down it's probably going to come down to whoever rolls better on initiative unless someone's getting jumped, you're both likely to one-shot the other.
i like how your guys's game is like as slice of life as shadowrun gets, while ours is a nonstop thrill ride where we're all horrible monsters with no compassion
i like how your guys's game is like as slice of life as shadowrun gets, while ours is a nonstop thrill ride where we're all horrible monsters with no compassion
I should point out this was happening while Elo's character was poking at a dead guy with most of his face missing in a Vory cyberclinic and the decker was in the van, with a guy they nearly killed while kidnapping him, trying to identify the dead guy by his cyberware over the video Elo was taking.
do a crossover session with siberys and then we can expose how awful our parties are to eachother
do a crossover session with siberys and then we can expose how awful our parties are to eachother
You guys have a submarine and military shit, my group's most damaging weapon at the moment is a rotodrone with an AK loaded with sticknshock, so no fights :v: A crossover thing between two actual teams would be rad if it wouldn't be such a clusterfuck to organise though
