I'm sure there's no shortage of players, it's GMs that are the keystone to a successful group.
Kind of like dominants in the BDSM community.
Let's make that two, easier to find a group if you're kinda a group already
I think the majority of people who post here are looking for a game.
But me too.

Huh, always thought it'd be the opposite
So on our second Shadowrun session of the week (owing to our scheduled GM being in absentia due to family matters), we somehow managed to have a pretty ridiculous followup to the insanity of our wednesday game
Entirely slice-of-life bullshit over the course of the day, involving some of the after-job fucking about, arrangements for selling some of the stories and data they've gathered, etc, etc
and then the samurai introduced his latest hookup to his other pair of girlfriends. Which went over about as well as a lead-and-radon recreation of the Hindenburg. To the point we had an IC breakdown and the player actually needed to take a break to figure out how the hell he was going to deal with the fallout
Meanwhile, the rest of the party went to the beach, kicked ass at volleyball, talked smack about the samurai, ate ice cream, and planned an event to get the mage a girlfriend so he wouldn't be sad about having missed his chance at the girl the sammy is hooking up with
and then they all met in an abandoned warehouse so the sammy could teach the face how to do some basic unarmed combat
good use of 7 hours
im glad im slowly creating my Haros-Buster suit, just incase i ever need it
after our mage edged himself to a force 16 stunbolt and our sammy shrugged it off, I knew I had to prepare -some- contingency
How'd he resist it? Or did he just tank it and not pass out thanks to the wonders of a pain editor
I can try to DM but I've only played for 6 months, so let's put together a super shitty session together :v:

edged his resistance roll, got a 6 with sixes, so it ended up being 12 in total
he took 5 stun and then proceeded to almost execute our little narc
our little narc
I prefer 'political activist' over narc.

To be truly frank hats I think in any actual serious combat situation your suit probably wouldn't end up being much more than ablative armor
It being as big and tanky as a troll in a suit of combat armor sounds like a lot till you remember this is the guy who's accidentally killed trolls with his bare robohands
Though that's more because you're using a drone chassis, and 5e isn't so hot on drones being tanky
had a couple of players say they really enjoyed a session i ran yesterday
feels good man to essentially have a story, and people enjoy it

Activism is always fun in Shadowrun.

System > senario > stats for NPCs > secret staches > sequence breaking workarounds > Stuff that's a bonus. Order of stuff you should do but you can run things after the 3rd step if you really want to.

Psh, no
You start with a setting, then a scenario you want to run in that setting, and then pick a system that fits both. Everything after that is optional if you know the system well enough, and are decent at improvising. And even if you aren't good at improvising, the best way to get better at improvising is by doing it.

Sorry, for that to be accepted as true it needs to be in alliterative form.

setting, scenario, system, shut up and do it

Today in Shadowrun, everyone gets paid followed by some light shopping, and then indecision since the only job they've got going involves the Yakuza and no one wants to fuck with them, everyone decides to go home and get some sleep, and then spot the dead guy they dropped off at the morgue a couple of hours ago on the news for going on a rampage earlier in the day, and the sort-of-street sam trying to give a motivational pep talk the rest of the team.
[editline]27th February 2016[/editline]
Elowin's character decided to to check out the place where their dead guy committed a mass shooting, sees that it was a japanese restaurant and nearly immediately starts to chicken out because yakuza :v:
Today in Pathfinder, we encounter a bunch of ents and some wisps that can possess people. Our wizard makes two party members bigger, of which the barbarian fails a will save and starts attacking us. Then they possess our ranger- who fucking hates me and starts attacking me. We beat him into unconsciousness, causing the wisp to repossess the now freed barbarian. He attacks the half-dead ranger, who rolls a fortitude save to save himself.
He crit fails. Natty 1. Barbarian lops his head off in one swing.

And now I've tried to talk my way in there by crossdressing and flirting with the police. That didn't work.
So now I've shapechanged into a kitten, and the party's leopard shapeshifter is carrying me by the neck in her mouth.
This has been a strange day.
And then in the absence of the decker, they physically stole a small security server from the crime scene that was that restaurant.
I want my character to be a spear wielding dragon hunter (so basically a dragoon) how would I go about doing this in 5e or pathfinder?

my plan is to invest a retarded amount of money into speed and handling, so that i can then purchase more armor and try and counteract the speed reduction
that being said that's gonna cost me a disgusting amount of money but i will not stop till i match trooper with armor JUST IN CASE

In 5e, just be a martial class. A fighter or paladin would probably be best for what you want, but a barbarian isn't out of the question, though they don't wear heavy armor. Even a monk could do it, since they can do some crazy stuff later on, like jumping up and knocking a dragon out of the sky with stunning blow.

meanwhile I quietly watched

Back when I had my mage, we did something similar except I animated it and we did a small escort mission while it shuffled it's way out

I'd say that sessions went fairly well.
First game of 5e tomorrow, I am excited.
