I'm having trouble finding a stable group and some game. I've looked everywhere though, roll20, /tg/, /tg/ skype groups and IRC, but no luck. Is there some secret Facepunch circle? Because every time I come here I notice that like half of you are all in groups together.
I lucked out and found my group through one of the... lesser 4chan boards, and they ended up being surprisingly great (for the most part). They've had a lot of encounters with shit players though which makes me aware of just how hit-and-miss it can be (or so it seems) to find a good group. The only places I know of for game finding would be /tg/ or one of the various RPG subreddits. I think FP has groups but I'm not in any, I mostly lurk here.
yo to the guy who made that super metal 'Shattered' system, we're playing it right now and I wanted to get your deets so i can collect feedback from the group to send to you, seeing as it's a playtest and all danke in advance

Now I'll have to rename mine.
I accidentally deleted a bunch of bookmarks that I didn't mean to, does anyone have those Mekton Zeta google docs sheets?

That's me and elowin is right, I'm no longer on the team. I wonder if they put my name in the credits though.
Well, if your name is indeed James, and there wasn't a second one on the dev team, your name is still there in all the credits and the 'ty kickstarter backers' thing at the beginning But yea, we just started first session today after I decided that my Shadowrun game was going nowhere fast and decided to try something really new I'm optimistic. There seems to definitely be a lot to use, and admittedly I'm kind of improvising my own sort of thing out of the setting because details are kinda sparse in the current version, plus probably throwing together some (probably much too complicated) homebrew airship rules while I wait for those But it's refreshing to try something new, definitely. The dice system is pretty unique, and I really love the party-based initiative system, because it makes everything flow very quickly and easily
No, there was another editor named James (it got really confusing at meetings). Oh well. :saddowns:
Player puts themselves in mortal danger, tries to back out immediately. Do I: A: Let them die. You made your bed, now sleep in it. B: DM Fiat. If they really deserve it, let them live. ?
Tries to back out only after discovering the consequences? Depends on the game, but generally you don't learn until you burn your hand, so...

Just helped a friend make his first D&D character ever. He had previously stepped in, despite having never played a tabletop RPG before, to play the character of an absent player during one of our sessions, and roleplayed incredibly well, nearly managing to smooth-talk the party out of a bandit attack. Afterwards, everyone agreed that he had to join the campaign because of how exceedingly well he had done.

Trying to decide on my character for our next campaign. Debating between quirky, well-meaning gnome artificer or suicidally destructive human warlock

So during our last session our magic ranger critically missed an enemy and critically hit our adjacent level 5 rogue for 23 damage:v: And he refused to use his inspiration to turn his nat. 1 into a 2 to avert the teamhit :excited:
IIRC (don't have the book in front of me). It's a +2 longsword which deals radiant damage and counts as a finesse weapon. You can use the bonus action to activate the blade (basically a lightsaber), and while active it casts light in an area from 10-30 feet (can be adjusted). Does an extra 1D8 damage against undead. [editline]3rd May 2016[/editline] Oh yeah, since it is the curse of strahd version, it's also semi-sentient.
Even a +2 weapon by itself would be too much for that level. Let alone with all the other bonuses.

Especially when your party sorceror decides: "hey, you know what'd be a great battle plan? Using burning hands on everyone in that particular corner of the room, including the tank!" I survived, but next time he pulls a stunt like that and I live to tell the tale, i'm absolutely going to wring his tiny hillbilly neck. It's only fair.
First Bard I ever played I spent seven hours imitating Jonas Venture Jrs voice as a hyper arrogant Red Dragonborn, and now my friends really want me to break out that character again for another one off. I'm pretty sure though that if I do another seven hours of inflecting like that I'll loose my goddamn mind. I don't know some people can maintain a character voice that long.

Without a little completely justified party conflict why even play

It's only fair.
In one of the encounters for a one shot (which turned into a full on campaign) our Sorcerer used Lightning Bolt while I was directly in the line of fire. I failed the dex save and was downed in one hit after doing a whopping 8 or so damage. Meanwhile our Bard fell down some stairs... twice. That was a fun combat.
One time I almost killed Sib because he was directly in the center of a circle of enemies that I could only damage with a single spell, and even then it only did 50% of it's total damage to them. Luckily, he got saved by GM intervention, so I didn't kill another PC. :dog:
I crit failed with a grenade launcher and instantly team killed Batman in a Fallout game one time.
Once in a space game, I convinced my players that one of them had been taken over by the thing from The Thing, and they firing squaded him in his bunk while he slept.
I threw a fireball at a massive pile of corpses that were apparently all full of bombs, while the rest of the party stood next to it.
I threw a fireball at a massive pile of corpses that were apparently all full of bombs, while the rest of the party stood next to it.
I was being REALLY nice when I didn't kill you all when that happened.
the most iconic incident for me was when the party triggered a trap through carelessness for some fake magic items and were swamped by a false ceiling full of green slime.
