Thanks a bunch!
The reality is that most adventuring parties essentially start out as hired-out mercenaries or hedge knights as far as my own campaigns have been concerned; so while they'll have a chance to participate in some political intrigue, it's usually not the focus. Unless one of the characters is some kind of politically important person, they largely don't have an opportunity to participate in that world unless they're especially wily. At the end of the day, it's probably going to involve some violence.
Looks like another campaign is dying off, please wake me from this nightmare. I have 8 separate characters below 6th level and not a single one has died or willingly retired.
meanwhile in my current d&d campaign I'm the only person still playing their starting character :v: I've dodged death and weathered enough blunt force trauma to explain my -2 in wisdom far more than I ever thought I would, I must be the main character after all
There's a Sumurai in my Pathfinder game who's name is as long as this: He announces his name every encounter.
Today in Elowin's VTM game: I help everyone escape from our prison of being chained to wooden chairs, then try to knock-out the guy who put us there in one hit, but miss and end up getting shot in the head. I barely survive, and end up starving with a bleeding wound on the side of my head as a result, then threaten some ganger kids we run into and crack a dude's skull so we can use his truck and I can drink his blood. The rest of the group later pulls me off the trucker because I end up Frenzying while drinking from him, and almost killing him. We also found a guy with a malformed skull in the back of the truck, after we dropped the trucker off at the hospital. [editline]23rd May 2016[/editline] It's also worth noting that the only reason I cracked the guy's skull was because someone else had already tried and failed twice to spook him, and I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone by knocking him out since I needed blood anyways. I just hadn't intended on actually cracking his skull when I did it.

So, do you think Indianna Jones could get through the Tomb of Horrors?
So, do you think Indianna Jones could get through the Tomb of Horrors?
Indiana Jones, Gandalf and the guy Tom Cruise played in Mission Impossible would have problems with the Tomb of Horrors
Indiana Jones, Gandalf and the guy Tom Cruise played in Mission Impossible would have problems with the Tomb of Horrors
Could probably do it if he told the demi-god laws to go fuck themselves and actually did things. Actual LotR Gandalf would be 100% fucked though. After he decided to start shit on their turf.
If anyone is looking for a player for anything that aint DND PM me. I can do most days and almost any timezone
So someone made a gigantic infograph style image of Star Wars Ep IV from a top down perspective. There are a lot of clear, crisp, images of just about everything from A New Hope, including ships, vehicles, maps and weapons. It's perfect for importing into Roll20 if you're doing a Star Wars game. http://swanh.net/
Exploding dice are wonderful. Sibs rolled a 1d10+4+3 to use his psionic powers to make an illusion, appearing as though his jail cell was normal when in reality he was about to get out using a key handed to him by an ally. The guard rolls 1d10+6 to resist it. Sibs gets 10. The guard gets 37.
Guard drank so much coffee he literally cannot be fooled.
The guard noticed the attempt, several minor cracks in the cell wall, and the vast incomprehensible infinity of the universe in the stars outside the cells window.
Just had to drop out of my 5E game, since I'm going to be in a very different time zone for the entirety of the summer. Ah well, it was fun while it lasted.
So tell me this guys, what makes "political intrigue" a red flag to so many people?
A late response, but if you see people react poorly to it it seems to be because there's some horror stories of GMs saying they'll run a "political intrigue" game but then run it as a game of thrones fanfic where NPCs just constantly betray everyone all the time and everyone dies at the end.
Managed to create the most broken level one character for myself so far. I had a certain direction I was going, and ended up with the incredible hulk instead. Full Orc Berserker, 18 strength with a +4 racial bonus, +4 from belt of giant stength and +2 from gauntlets of something (cant remember), monkey grip feat with a large fullblade (3D8 damage). The gauntlets and belt carry over from my last character, party members will be giving it to this new one. So my total strength at level 1 is 28, thats a modifyer of +9, then the fullblade gives me 1.5 to strength when I add it to the damage which makes it out to be 13.5 damage. In rage I get an aditional 1D8 and certain attacks give me 3W dice, so it totals out to be roughly 10D8+13 and 1D12 on a critical, so 105 potential max damage on a critical. By level 10 I'll have another 2 strength putting me at 30 which is damn near hulk levels. Idk about my other stats, AC will probably be dirt low as will the others, but I cant wait until our next session to unleash this monster [editline]29th May 2016[/editline] Any ideas on how I could make it more broken/more strength?
nvm What kind of psycho GM has you at +4 BoGS tier but makes you roll a char from level 1 to rejoin the party

Assuming this is Pathfinder of course.

Friends can be flakey. I still havent finished an adventure I made two years ago cause I can never get my friends organized enough to come play.
nvm What kind of psycho GM has you at +4 BoGS tier but makes you roll a char from level 1 to rejoin the party
The party is only around level 7-10, i have to start at level 1 until the average party level is 20 then i can start at level 10. Well... he doesn't exactly know my plans 100%, I'm working with my buddy, but the DM is letting me roll the Orc Berserker Retard with +4 to strength and use a fullblade. What he doesn't know yet is the monkey grip feat and that the large fullblade does 3D8, and I dont think he remembers that the berserker has 3W moves early on. I haven't gotten my old belt and gauntlets yet, but I'm hoping he overlooks them and my buddy in the party can grab them (have to be picked up from the blacksmith since my last guy is petrified) On a side note, my last guy is stuck on an island, petrified, my party knows but my new character wont, how could I go about saving/grabbing him? Hes a 10' tall goliath warden with a 2000 pound shield (has a power word to make it weightless) now everything is solid stone so he's like 5000 pounds total so it'd be a hassle to carry/move. Any ideas how to unpretrify him or at least save him?
It's moreso just a thing with saves and hit points Any monster or spellcaster worth their salt is going to instakill a level 1 character at that tier, amazing damage potential or not
I've always been of the school that starting people behind is platinum stupid
May as well post this here. This is a visual representation of my character and all the weapons he carries that I have been working on. [t]http://puu.sh/p9sSy/3ee4fc6630.png[/t] P.S. The lance is actually holstered on my horse, Shield Horse.
