Anyway, to go back to relevant subjects of irrelevant monsters, did anyone do (hopefully terrible) stats for Pokemon? Because, while cute, even the smaller critters could probably fuck up your D&D party (the fact that I did the same for Warhammer wargame means nothing).

That's fucking bad ass.
Guys, I'm working on fleshing out my GM Resource files, and I was wondering if you had some cool stuff, I'm mostly focusing on finding creatures, monsters and cool enemies, but landscapes, maps and items are nice to have too.
These are some of K T Andersson's creature concepts, he has some nice art on various pages and art sites
More of Andersson's work here, it's mostly silly semi-erotic fantasy stuff, but he has some nice other creature concepts too.
I have some nice dark fantasy/slightly macabre art in my deviantart folder, not a whole lot but it might be nice for some icons/monsters http://aldawolfe.deviantart.com/favourites/?offset=0
You can also find a bunch of groups that I found them in that will lead you to more stuff like this.
You could check out Monster A Day for monsters with 5e statblocks.
So my university has a society dedicated to roleplaying games which I have been a part of for around a year now. Today was the first day I went back this semester and we did a one-shot game of Iron Kingdoms. It was kind of fun, but we didn't have enough time to properly finish the campaign. Possibility that I'll join one of the other groups for a proper campaign next week. Last year I was playing a Call of Cthulhu campaign that got increasingly ridiculous and fun to play.
So while the gms gone the rest of us have a 4 way pvp battle. At the start I go off and get 3 natural twenties in a row only to get negated. So as the partys rogue ninja class I do the only logical thing and start casting disintegrate. Didnt help me though as I still got destroyed with both of us only having a couple hp.
I will always be in the camp that you should just level your players up when you want
That actually sounds better for me as a new DM. Less to keep track of and something I could possibly change in other games once I'm more experienced.
My battle matt came as well, it's awesome. It has both square and hex grids on it. Really excited to get it started, I just hope I can do it well and not stumble and get lost.
Any tips for a first time DM when it comes to playing the game?
Don't worry about your plot, just refine your improv and get a feel for your players and their characters early on
Story can come later once you figure out all the basics

Yeah of course the only games that my new university is playing is D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder.

oh and also something to note
he used 3 disintegrate spells on me. And I still survived.
im looking to run a pathfinder game in the (hopefully) near future. it's going to be using a setting that i'm in the process of making and isn't done yet, so it might take a little while to get the setting to a playable state. im posting here to garner interest early, so if you're looking to join a pathfinder game within the next month or so shoot me a pm. we're probably going to be using roll20. use of a microphone is required, as using text for ooc slows the game down. roleplaying in text is fine if you prefer. the game will most likely run on the weekend during the afternoon (EST time zone).

Introduce them to the majesty of Shadowrun.
Which is honestly better for a games club type setting since people can drop in and out far more easily since dying, retiring and hiring new/temporary guys happens a lot in-setting.
Man, I hope tabletop games at my college are populated by cool cats and wizards for real like this thread is. If there are any of them. Probably are.

How could've I missed this... If I was there I'd add in some random disintegrates that targets random people because !!FUN!!.
or just add the staple disintegrate room trap
even better do some kind of arena contest with a retracting floor over a pit holding a sphere of annihilation

I considered running Shadowrun using Savage Worlds rules. That, or Eclipse Phase, though if I did the latter I'd need to figure out a way to introduce it to folks who are both new to RPGs that aren't medieval fantasy and new to sci-fi settings with themes that have only gained traction in popular culture very recently.

EP's setting is weird, especially the whole post-scarcity economy thing, it will really throw new people off that stealing stuff is nearly pointless.
SR's good to introduce people with because all the fantasy archetypes make some kind of appearance in it, you can be pretty much whatever you want in it without it being too out of place and there's probably cyberware/a spell/adept power that does the thing a player has in mind, from Inspector Gadget extendo arms to hadoukens to eye beams (although lasers aren't all that impressive).

That's why I'd probably start EP off with a location and situation that doesn't throw every weird thing about the setting at them. From what I've seen and the folks I've talked to though I don't peg them as being unable to comprehend a post-scarcity economy, since I know they know what 3D printers are, the damn Engineering degree weirdos. That and I never depict EP's economy as entirely "post-scarcity", even the anarchists. Magic nanobot 3D printers isn't going to solve everything, which is why stealing is still perfectly legit.
We'll see, I guess. I'm going to ask them what they want to play since I have the physical books for both EP and Savage Worlds. And no, playing Shadowrun's setting with any actual SR system is not an option :<

fuck having the name "Tempest Naginata", we should call it "The Naginata of Dreams and Hope". Aka you roll a natural 20, well... I almost don't want to think about it.
Like are you kidding me 3 natural twenties in a row " oh yeah wind critfucker ability negates that " my salt is too real. Anyways I blame my loss on having like 68 hp at level 10. Also as a sidenote does anyone have the vigilante playtest pdfs for pathfinder?

[del]I think I do. I'll send them on steam to ya.[/del] Nope, I did not. I thought I had them but apparently not.

I know it's based off of pure luck, but there's still something utterly baffling and almost supernatural when I roll three consecutive natural 1's to attack an enemy. I blame scientologists

Paint Tool SAI plus tablet.
Used lot of line-tool though, although sketching I did by hand.
