It sounds completely horrible. I thought it was hard enough reading up on the stuff in pathfinder and working out how it works. I'd need a degree in mathematics to play fatal probably I'm still shocked by the anal circumference stat
You'll be more shocked to know you can roll low enough to tear your ass taking a dump, or high enough to fit other characters up your ass.
You'll be more shocked to know you can roll low enough to tear your ass taking a dump, or high enough to fit other characters up your ass.
Christ imagine going to the toilet, sitting down and then rolling a dice and next thing you know you're shitting out your bowels.
Christ imagine going to the toilet, sitting down and then rolling a dice and next thing you know you're shitting out your bowels.
Shit happens.
I want to roll up a FATAL character now.
Christ imagine going to the toilet, sitting down and then rolling a dice and next thing you know you're shitting out your bowels.
Nah, you only roll it once in chargen. So, I guess it's technically possible to roll low enough on it that you start the game dead or seriously ill.
And never forget that if you're anything other than a white male you are doomed to be either a horrible stereotype/raped by chargen/both Because ~realism~
Nah, you only roll it once in chargen. So, I guess it's technically possible to roll low enough on it that you start the game dead or seriously ill.
Dying before you start the game doesn't sound like a very enjoyable experience at all. Are people meant to masturbate to the quadratic formulas and sheets as an abstract representation of rape?
Dying during chargen is not exclusive to FATAL. A few rolls of dice in Traveler are enough to kill your character and have you roll up a new one.
Dying during chargen is not exclusive to FATAL. A few rolls of dice in Traveler are enough to kill your character and have you roll up a new one.
Though dying during chargen is entirely avoidable if you actually bother to get medical care At least in Mongoose
You can't straight up die in Mongoose Traveller's character creation, but you can be pretty horribly crippled to the point where you might as well start over.
You can't straight up die in Mongoose Traveller's character creation, but you can be pretty horribly crippled to the point where you might as well start over.
You can die if you get maimed enough that a stat gets to 1 then you screw up an aging roll but again, all avoidable if you actually bother with medical care, especially since almost every worthwhile non-scum career has, at very minimum, 50% coverage of medical costs Correction, I found another way to die during Mongoose chargen just now, and that is to be in Naval Engineering and get blasted by a radiation leak if you're unlucky like me and roll an 11 on the 2d6 * 100 rads table, you can easily die to the 8d6 instant burn damage you're going to take, not to mention the lifetime -4 endurance
I have FATAL as a PDF with me at all times (which is not to say much except that I carry my laptop with me wherever I can). It is a perfect catalyst of many things that can go wrong in an RPG and is certainly an important study. There are worse and less thought out systems, more disgusting and shocking splatbooks, but FATAL is a great combination of them all. At least until I get the rights to make Postal RPG. [editline]26th November 2015[/editline] Also, d1000 tables are if anything, amusing. And sad. A great combo. [editline]26th November 2015[/editline]
If a male character has a BMI of at least 30, then he will be unable to see his Manhood while standing without using a mirror.
FATAL Appreciation Station is a go?
OK Let's do this. For reference, any linked images are NSFW. [t]http://i.imgur.com/NlyOFhR.png[/t] Here's a list of all the races. And here's a picture of what they look like naked. I rolled an 80, which makes us a Cliff Ogre. I flipped a coin for gender and got male, so we're going to be a strong and independent specimen of Ogredom. So next up is to turn to their race page in the book. Oh. Good. To sum them up, they're the smallest kind of Ogre and they throw people off of cliffs, their primary mode of hunting is tossing you off a cliff and their favourite past time is throwing you off of a cliff. Hence the name Cliff Ogres. We gain +200 strength, -20 Bodily Attractiveness, -20 Facial, -20 Kinetic, -15 Rhetorical, -10 Hand-eye Coordination, -15 Agility, -25 Reaction Speed, -50 Enunciation, Language -50, Math -10, Analytic -25, -15 Drive, -20 Intuition, -30 Common Sense. Base Current Armor: 13 Base Life Points: 27 Average 9' in height. Disposition: -50 Ethicality, -50 Morality (we do throw people off of cliffs after all) Temperament: -25 Sanguine, +25 Choleric, +25 Melancholic, -25 Phlegmatic Language: None(!) Occupation: We rolled a 47, which makes us a Gladiator! We begin work at 18. Skills: +5 Brawling, +8 Climb, +5 Hurl, +5 Mangling, +3 Wrestling Religion: Cliff Ogres don't worship gods. They only honor THE CLIFF Name:
Cliff ogres do not name their offspring. However, most who have contact with more intelligent creatures acquire a nickname, such as Body-Tosser
I'll call our Ogre Face-Puncher. [t]http://i.imgur.com/W3Sxl3M.png[/t] Next up, we determine our starting age. As nothing can be simple in FATAL we need to use the following formula: [t]http://i.imgur.com/LRV8dVZ.png[/t] I rolled a 146, meaning Face-Puncher is 18 years old. By Ogre standards, this means he's a Child. Ogres don't even hit puberty until age 21. In the interests of making things less creepy I bump his age up to 21. (Note: I did some theoretical rolls and if you go by the book it is entirely possible to roll a human child of 5 years old that is also more than 5' or 6' in height. In case this whole thing wasn't stupid enough.) I also roll for height - Face-Puncher is 9 feet tall and 9 inches, giving him an additional 180lbs in weight, +180 strength and +9 Bodily Attractiveness. Next we determine weight using (3d100)+499. We roll a 166 meaning we weigh 565 pounds. This puts us 95lbs under the average Ogre body weight and gives us a -9 to strength. Next up, we get to determine Face-Puncher's BMI index. For some reason. We get to do so using his race, gender, and the formula (lbs./inches²x705). [t]http://i.imgur.com/7bxQWcn.png[/t] Our BMI is 29, which means that Face-Puncher is massively underweight for a Cliff Ogre: they're considered underweight at a score of 36 or under. This doesn't give us a Bodily Attractiveness penalty as Ogres can see that beauty isn't about how much you weigh but how many peasants you can toss off of a cliff in five minutes. Next we get to roll our most attractive and most repulsive feature! I roll 1d100 twice. My most attractive feature is my hair, giving +4 Facial Attractiveness while my least attractive feature is my horribly misshapen waist, giving -9 to Bodily Attractiveness. Next is skin color. As you can see below there are no black people in FATAL unless you count the Drow. [t]http://i.imgur.com/4riqXyJ.png[/t] We roll a 72, meaning we're tanned. We also have light brown hair that reaches down to our upper back. As this is FATAL, there is a table to determine our hair type. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Ocp6eAf.png[/t] I roll a 47 meaning our hair is thick, wavy and oily, giving us a -5 to facial attractiveness. We have dark-grey eyes. Next up is arm length - Ogre's arms are 45% of their height in length, meaning that our arms are about 4 feet in length. Next up I get to roll how good our vision is using this excellent table: [t]http://i.imgur.com/d53vare.png[/t] I figured I'd include that blurb at the bottom as the book actually expects the GM to bring this shit into play. We roll a 65 so our vision is fine. Next up is our defining facial feature: we roll a 10 meaning we have prominent eyebrows, which means people are likely to judge us as emotionally indecisive, gutsy and smart (until we throw them off the cliff at least). I'm just going to leave this following table here. [t]http://i.imgur.com/fbRt14r.png[/t] Funnily enough I don't make the roll. [editline]27th November 2015[/editline] As it's getting late here and I have work tomorrow, I'll move onto the next part of chargen tomorrow. Next up is determining sexual features!
We should have a one off game of FATAL. And never speak of what transpired.
We should have a one off game of FATAL. And never speak of what transpired.
Despite all the tables and game rules, it is almost impossible to run a game of FATAL simply because the GM side of rules is terribly explained.
Despite all the tables and game rules, it is almost impossible to run a game of FATAL simply because the GM side of rules is terribly explained.
Fair enough. It'd be either really funny or really depressing.
Fair enough. It'd be either really funny or really depressing.
Funny for players, depressing to GM. Also:
I'm GMing a Maid RPG game for three drunk girls. God help me.
9:21 PM - Seems I've Maid a Mistake: ONCE UPON A TIME... ON A SIMPLE DAY, IN A SIMPLE TOWN... 9:22 PM - Seems I've Maid a Mistake: There stands a sizable mansion on the hill overlooking the ocean of this scenic small town. The mansion, coincidentally, doubles as the local museum. It displays a variety of prized possessions, as owned by its Master, known to the locals simply as "The Curator." 9:23 PM - Seems I've Maid a Mistake: Priceless artifacts of all cultures, fossilized remains, and perhaps even a variety of other treasures sit on display - or, mayhap, lay hidden - within its walls. 9:25 PM - Seems I've Maid a Mistake: This mansion is tended by a team of highly skilled maids. Unfortunately, after the Great Nazi Pirate Raid of '76, they lost a number of their most skilled staff members, and have put in a call for help.

I'm GMing a Maid RPG game for three drunk girls. God help me.
Are they actually girls this time?
Are they actually girls this time?
theyre all girls on the inside
Are they actually girls this time?
Not a question I ask everyone who says they're a girl. "Do you now, or did you ever once have, a dick?" "No." "What about a-" "No, no ballsack. Just a regular, ordinary, peace-loving..."

I'm just saying, every Maid RPG or Magical Burst game I've heard of was 100% dudes as far as I know
i had a pretty cool dream last night, which was me playing a pnp game of the game Bully. that got me thinking and i think it would be a pretty fun idea, just a bunch of high school kids in a wacky high school doing wacky things. the hardest thing would probably coming up with a plot. i doubt there are any systems about school that isn't anime bullshit so im coming up with a simple homebrew thing.

Or, better yet, Savage Worlds, for the silly antics that are likely to happen in a high school-based game. Maybe FATE if you want it to be rules lite or have shit beyond just school kids being school kids going on.

Ooh, an eight? Sorry, you forgot to change it and arrive to class an hour early. You're there all alone and it's boring. You take 4 teen angst damage.
last session i played a grappling barbarian bar wrestler, his name being MACHO MAN GRIM DUNDRAGON it was possibly one of the most fun sessions i've had. [editline]27th November 2015[/editline] if anyone asks, yes, macho man randy savage was an inspiration for this character
Grapplers are fun as heck, ye.
