Well the spell says This spell unleashes the power of Light in its purest state, sweeping away everything in the spiritual as well as the material world. The freed energy sweeps up and devours everything, unifying its existence to the Light. Even elemental creatures of light are assimilated by its power. The Holocaust of Light creates a great luminous dome within which everything is dissolved. It has a radius of 300 feet, attacks the Energy AT, and causes a Base Damage of 350. Anyone receiving damage, no matter how small, must beat a MR Check with a Difficulty of 160 or be joined with the Light, and automatically destroyed in body and soul. It is not possible to designate specific targets within the Holocaust; all except the caster are equally affected. Added Ef fect: +10 Base Damage and doubles the radius of the spell. Maximum Zeon: Intelligence x50 The added effect says you can spend extra zeon to double let the radius. And you can do this about 50 times. By how I would interpret that as a gm is just adding the initial double (300) up to 50 times. Not continuos double 300-600-1200-2400... Ect

Well I stand corrected. I only have the 1st edition Core Dominus and Arcana, didn't know they had been updated
But it is absolutely a continuous doubling effect. The extra zeon effects are added every time you add 10 extra zeon. The area of effect is doubled. Thus the area of effect doubles every time you add 10 extra zeon. In every other instance where it adds a static number to the area of effect, it's stated as such. Even in cases where the area added is equal to the base area, such as the Chaos spell. Besides that, your interpretation would also make it the absolute most pitiful Divine spell in the game, despite being the absolute highest level spell in the Light and Dark spell trees. The holocaust spells are literally put above the ascension spells. Which literally make you ascend to godhood. They're supposed to be ridiculously, insanely overpowered. They're literally the super world destroying spell that the main villain of every other Final Fantasy game tries to cast at the end.
Any idea where I could get a copy of the second edition corebook in English? I tried googling it, but it doesn't seem like it's been translated officially.
Any idea where I could get a copy of the second edition corebook in English? I tried googling it, but it doesn't seem like it's been translated officially.
It hasn't been, but besides the change in how spells work and less shity art, there's not a whole lot of changes. So someone just compiled a list of the changes. http://www.mediafire.com/download/9uqnpn48hfj58qm/CORE+EXXET+CHANGES+.doc It's not exactly pretty though.
So generating my character for Star Wars Traveller, I decided to make a wookie aristocrat as a kind of off kilter face character. Literally my second term I join into a mutiny onboard a ship I'm on to overthrow the Imperial loving elders of my planet, end up turning into a space pirate and becoming a huge badass social/punch everything to death character. I even got a space pirate arch nemesis, and I'm not even on my 5th term yet
Though for context, that still places him at the more moderate end of our party, being that we have a career smuggler/bounty hunter, an ex-stormtrooper, and pretty much the sith and his apprentice right now. It's going to be a very interesting party, that's for sure.
That meter throws me off, I'm used to the childish limericks like the one about the man from Nantucket. There once was a rogue who was thick He had only reflexes quite quick He hummed and he hah'd But his will saves were bad And his head now resides on a stick
I feel that your last line has too many syllables might just be me though
If you're in a bard's bubble thing, can you walk out, cast, and walk back in on the same turn? I assumed you could split your movement up between actions. D&D 5e btw

Little worried I may not get to play D&D tomorrow. One of the players bailed last minute last week, then our DM ranted about how he preferred making one-shots instead. And now there hasn't been any word as to what's going on tomorrow. The roll20 page hasn't been updated and the DM isn't replying on skype. I just want to play my fucking arcane trickster gnome.
Yep, no game again. I want to play some god damn D&D.
I want to play D&D too, but I cannot find tabletop groups or any on the internet. I, however, avoid internet groups as I avoid voice and video chat.
I want to play D&D too, but I cannot find tabletop groups or any on the internet. I, however, avoid internet groups as I avoid voice and video chat.
My internet groups all play in text chat. Voice and video isn't the only way to play online, I personally can't get into character or speak properly over voice, not the least of which reasons being the fact that I don't need other people in my small house asking me what the fuck I'm doing.
You don't need to play with voice really, however it helps tremendously with OOC things and saves alot of time.
I'm in a voice game where there isn't really much IC talk at all. Although it's more of a silly space-crawl game where we are solving puzzles and practical problems than talking and RP. And any talking is usually generalized. imo. doing voice in a more abstract way like that is far more comfortable than specifically describing your characters actions and his exact speech. Plus it makes dialogue a little faster since you don't type out things word for word. still: Text IC > Voice IC
We use both, whoever has their turn or focus uses voice with the DM. Everyone else who's having side conversations with each other or doing their own things uses chat. If anyone reaches an important impasse or interesting tidbit during their background IC stuff the DM can switch to them and they get the floor. It's really helpful in a larger group.
I've said it a hundred times and I'll say it a hundred more, IC text with a good voice chat supplementing it for rules talk/other shittery is ideal.
I do 100% voice, it's way easier to have a conversation when you're not constantly waiting 10 seconds for someone to type out their dialogue.
Playing through Second Darkness and the party has managed to scrounge up such an amount of a certain ore that the DM is letting us craft some weapons or armor out of it. With it granting 20% spell failure (of any kind, including divine) but +2 saves vs spells and spell like effects, we're going to be throwing a set of the stuff on the Untouchable Rager Bloodrager in the group, turning him in to even more of a giant fuck you to spellcasters. We did some stuff with [sp]drow and some spooky lover ghosts[/sp] too I guess. This campaign has been pretty fun so far!
New group is going well. I've worked out a less combat orientated scenario that I might pitch to our DM because I feel that sort of thing won't be that common in our sessions and it'd be great fun for our Rogue, whose character (Cowardly disgraced noble) I find a lot more interesting than our edgy drow druid or super fucking righteous dwarf paladin, you know? Might be awkward though because the DM might think I'd try to metagame in that session.
Yesterday I began my first ever game of Star Wars: Edge of the Empire as my Gungan Mercenary Soldier, Jip Jip. Old, grizzled gungan involved in the Star Wars equivalent of the yakuza. I'm back on a PC now so I can play D&D again!
So, I'm still working on an expansion for Magical Burst, and I was wondering if non-magic handheld weapons should do 1 damage per attack or 1 damage per shot connected? On one hand, Magical entities can laugh off most damage, but on the other hand, I feel that constant damage should inevitably add up. Lotta diddley method, if you will.
how much damage does a baby-tier magic attack do a little bit of machine gun fire probably shouldn't do nearly as much damage as that
This is going off potentially outdated but likely similar enough rules, but with absolutely no experience and fresh from a soul-binding contract with a magical talking animal, your average girl with a 6 in her Attack Attribute (from character creation, this can be set between 3 and 8), will have a Resolve (system equivalent of HP) of 18 and deal 1d6 +3 (half her Attack) damage. The absolute lowest damage a girl can do, with a 3 in her Attack and rolling a 1 on damage, is 2.

Would a point blank shot, with every pellet hitting, count as one hit or a dozen? It opens a lot of questions that need answering
I get so overwhelmed while DMing in dnd, its my first time DMing yet my players expect a lot out of me, and it seems nothing i do to make the campaign more interesting is enough for them. Doesnt help that half the time theyre complaining about the games rules as well.

Have you tried talking to your players about what the campaign should be like?
remember the golden rule of tabletop, if a rule isn't fun just say fuck it and ignore it.
i cant imagine ever playing a game where you track inventory weight down to minuscule details, that just sounds aweful.
Complaining about your rulings or complaining about the system your using? Have you tried talking to your players about what the campaign should be like?
Its mainly rules involving combat, like what you can do for an action, interaction, bonus action, etc. and especially about rules involving attacks of opportunity. The way i do them is that if you move out of an enemies melee range without disengaging, or you run straight througn an enemies melee range, they get an attack of opportunity on you. They think this is ridiculous yet i personally see no problem with it.
