also i almost killed a member of the party by having kuo-toa throw nets and stab him with sticks it was great
turns out, a large swarm of kuo-toa are deadly when you play them with tucker's kobolds level of strategy
Shit it's not a real session in my game unless some PC dies horribly.

I kind of want to work in the Message cantrip for them, as well as increase their base walking speed to 35 feet. But I'm not sure if that would make them silly OP or not.
This is more "That Guy" than the Kender.

I feel like when creating any sort of content, whether it be a race, new monster, etc. you have to ask yourself what problem are you trying to fix. What gap does this fill, besides adding catgirls to your tabletop?

A good way to stop things being seen as weird or creepy is to have things be there for a reason. Like how does a hermaphrodite society work and why does it matter that they are? Also, catgirls will immediately make people think magical realm so you'll have to be careful with a feline race, giving them all dicks is going to add a whole extra layer of suspicion.
I think making alien and fantasy races having cool anatomies and different breeding habits can be interesting but it just needs to be done for a reason. For example one of my weird science fantasy homebrew races were asexual and were all bred from one big literal gene pool with different naming patterns depending on which combination of eggs and bits were combined. As a result they all tended to view themselves as one collective even though they were capable of individual thought and if genes were preserved then the memories lived through them.
Honestly man, a race of hermaphrodite catgirls are the most "that guy" thing I can think of. If I were joining a game and was told that one of the primary custom races were catgirls with dicks I would literally just walk out and go home.
My DM learned the hard way why you should not just hand out large amounts of gold and also let your players be able to buy magic items at their own pleasure. Our adventures were centered in Neverwinter, so he was like "Yeah, you can roll and buy stuff". By the end of out first shopping spree, we were kitted out pretty well, at level 4-5. I had a doss lute, bag of tricks, +1 cloak, hat of disguise, boots of flying, gloves of thievery, and one of those deck of cards that lets you throw one down and an illusion of it appears. He also made the mistake of letting our warlock buy a cloak of many things, THEN roll to see what was on it. He made more money off the cloak than what he paid because of some good rolls. To have a bit of fun with our new toys I tried to cram one of the tricks from my bag down our druid's pants. I thought there was no way i could fail (Bonus of gloves of thievery as well as me being a bard proficient in sleight of hand) and I wound up rolling a 1. Would've been hilarious as well, since it was a tiger I pulled out of the bag.

The only way to make this better, is to have something even more magical realm than this.

Jesus Christ man keep a consiatant tense and perspective.
Also the fact that you can't see this being super magical realm distressed me. Here's the thing, being futas comes out of nowhere except fetishes. It's not a characteristic of cats or people, and since it serves no purpose it really just comes off as fetishy.
do cats even have dicks
i don't think i've ever seen a cat dick before

Yes, they are barbed.
i updated it and removed futa

other notable changes are the removal of tails and the addition of sunlight sensitivity, as well as subraces.
the idea of catgirls clashes fucking terribly with me
if they were more like kajiit then i'd think more positively about them, but at the moment this is magical realm shit at best

Khajit is just furry shit. Catgirls is anime. You can't win.

yeah but animals that look human have been around since forever, and i don't consider them to be furry shit unless portrayed like that (not in the same way as this, where if it appeared mid-game i'd be fucking confused as to why it was in the game)

You combined drow, catgirls, and Death Note. I mean the great thing about tabletop is if you have friends who would like to play with something like this then no problem. But I don't see it gaining any traction outside of that.

This is the thought process I want to break. If I changed their description to say they were completely covered in fur with cat-like facial features, and posted a picture of a khajit, would that make it any better?
any homebrew races should be 100% unfuckable imo
Catgirls really liven this thread up, maybe there's something to be said for them after all.
any homebrew races should be 100% unfuckable imo
Knowing human nature, this is an impossible task.
this is why you never mention anything about sex in any monster bio. Because for 90% of groups, it's utterly irrelevant and just causes a lot of pointy questions, and if it does become relevant (pray that it does not) then the PC's should have no one to blame but themselves for the horrors about to follow
but just putting it front-and-center is asking for trouble. All you need is to establish for humanoids is usually what they look like, and their crunch. Unless it's for a specific game, anything you do with them otherwise is probably on a case-by-case basis for stuff like society and behavior (anyway, just going off what was mentioned above, there are plenty of purely-male or purely-female races in existence in D&D, and most get by just fine without needing to know how such a race manages to keep it's population up. Again, save the details so that the PC's can wildly speculate with slowly growing horror, or GM can fill in the blanks however they see fit).

Lmao honestly the big issue was the futa thing, if you want a catgirl race that's totally fine.
One thing I don't understand at all about this cat-girl race thing is that they are described as having poor eyesight because they live in dark environments, but then it says they live in high elevation and prefer to overlook towns. Those two things don't really work together. Also, I REALLY hope that 'you are super good at talking' is a placeholder.
Same with the first sentence of the characteristics.

to me races being fuckable is fine
i mean i find humans sexy and elves too
[editline]20th January 2016[/editline]
tbh catgirls are fine in dnd imo
i mean it's not much different than how mermaids came to be, created by lonely sailors, yet we're fine with that
it can be explained by some god giving random features to humans creating some kind of subhuman or something, i mean it's entirely possible because owlbears are a thing

ok but would you fuck an owlbear?
maybe
So because our DM is a total amateur (doesn't even use a battle grid ffs) I've decided to try to learn how to DM, which means I have to review the base game rules.
Three days in, and have only just gotten to taking notes on the base classes in Player's Handbook. Granted, I'm learning this stuff around college and other hobbies and things, but still...
