Did a quick doodle in preparation.
Yes I am still, months down the line, immensely salty over the death of my fighter from our 13th Age game, who honestly stands as one of my more original characters, who died in the second bleeding session killing a demon It was an awesome death, since I killed the thing with my dying counter-attack, but when I think of what could have been I get upset
Well now I feel bad :(
This just went up on kickstarter. Funded within an hour. It looks like an adorable family-friendly D&D-type game, but I'd be willing to bet money the furries are going to get their grubby mitts on it and latch on.
Well now I feel bad :(
You should that demon had no business dealing dice of damage when literally no other enemy in the system thus far had done actual dice of damage instead of flat numbers especially when that amount of damage could take me from 'still barely in the fight' to 'instantly dead' without even needing a crit and we had no warning that the demon's increasing damage was going to be as much as it did until it performed said instakill

I remember reading about it like a year ago, it sounded pretty cool then. Didn't know it was d20 though, that's a bit of a turn off, but it might still be cool.

guys wtf have you done, you've turned my goblin hotel shitpost into a reality
guys wtf have you done, you've turned my goblin hotel shitpost into a reality
We've made dreams come true. Now all you need to do is choose a system, and get the group together. If you build the goblin hotel, we will come to the goblin hotel.
alright, i'm gonna record an introduction thing when i get some free time, an introduction to the goblin hotel, and the land it survives within. may call on someone to do their best goblin voice for a bit of the intro [editline]28th January 2016[/editline] don't expect a campaign any time soon though, at the moment i'm busy as shit

If we're doing this, we gotta do this *rite*.
Maybe you should get everyone that's interested into a Roll20 and stuff so we can discuss it more. If we're doing this, we gotta do this *rite*.
is there a way of doing a campaign, based entirely on a bunch of goblins running of hotel, that could possibly make it go right? i've already got ideas though, "THE MAGMA VENTS THAT POWER THE HOTEL BOILER ARE CLOGGED, GET UNDERGROUND AND UNCLOG THEM YOU SHITLINGS" okay, before i sort out any planning i want to record something (so that people can hear what i sound like because i feel it's important for not-in-person dnd) and map out the entire hotel
I'm surprised no one has seriously injured another party member in our shadowrun group yet, but I suppose that might be to do with no one having any doubts that the cyborg could punch all of our heads off if we fuck with him.
A lot of it is I really don't see the need to hurt another party member unless it's absolutely necessary or I feel it's the best thing to do at the time. But if I need to do it I do it without hesitation. Until then I'm fine with my cyborg performing banter and making idle threats.
the most blatant case of friendly fire i've ever had against me was in a pathfinder campaign, the rest of the party was literally about to do a deal with the devil, and i was standing there as an Inquisitor going 'UH GUYS DON'T DO THIS' they did it, i fought them, i died gloriously
I still remember the time I made a lightning-based sorcerer and all we ever fought was lightning-immune enemies, then I died and rerolled to a fire-based oracle and suddenly everything was fire-immune. So then we got ambushed in a church and a bunch of barbed devils formed a perfect 30-foot circle around the Ranger, and I had a 30-foot radius spell that could hit them all and at least do Light damage(as in damage of the light type, though it was also still pretty wimpy), but only by centering it on the Ranger and risking killing her with Light and Fire damage. I did it, and the GM intervened with literal divine intervention from the sun goddess to prevent my spell from doing any damage to the Ranger. It was still the only legitimate contribution I made to damage in that fight, though, because everything I had was fire-based.

If they invest in something let them feel the benefit. (Like my apartment, elo, you meanie)
FIGHTER I WAS A FIGHTER STOP OPPRESSING MY PEOPLE
Honestly, when it comes to Pathfinder Rangers as archers is just PR I can 100% confirm that if you want to be Legolas fighter is the way to go
sadly rats is being a big baby and is exaggerating the situation, the GM wasn't intending to counter him at all rats just has this thing about thinking everyone has it out for him
Honestly, when you're in Pathfinder Rangers as archers is just PR I can 100% confirm that if you want to be Legolas fighter is the way to go
Screw that, I'm not no pansy who needs to study my foes to learn their weaknesses or shout at my dog to kill things If it can be poked with an arrow, I can kill it Seriously though archers in general are too good in PF Danmaku arrows ftw
I'm pretty sure my group thinks something is wrong with me after I laughed for two straight minutes upon asking the DM if the city we were currently occupying had any crab-like houses.
GMs that do that suck Challenging your players is one thing, purposefully making their character choices redundant is another. If they invest in something let them feel the benefit. (Like my apartment, elo, you meanie)
We can also have a word from the GM himself of that campaign (me) where the enemy-type's timing of appearance was coincidental and I had no intent to make a character redundant or otherwise. It was also stated from the beginning of the campaign that the players would be fighting an array of Daemons, Devils and Demons of all types consistently (they are known to have many elemental resistances and players were made aware of this). Having a purely lightning-based character against these sorts followed by a fire-based character is what I'd call bad foresight. I'd rather not be made out to be some devious asshole that tries to fuck with his players.
sadly rats is being a big baby and is exaggerating the situation, the GM wasn't intending to counter him at all rats just has this thing about thinking everyone has it out for him
That's a really dickish thing to say about someone. It looks like you're creating drama where there really isn't any, as far as I can tell.
That's a really dickish thing to say about someone. Rats was just telling us his in game experience. That was his perspective, he didn't "besmirch" anyone. Then you came and called him a "big baby" saying that he thinks "everyone has it out for him" is incredibly rude. And now you're dragging me into this for some reason.
'the GM intervened with literal divine intervention from the sun goddess to prevent my spell from doing any damage to the Ranger.' which then inspired reactions of 'wow gms that do that are dicks' please just drop it my son
'the GM intervened with literal divine intervention from the sun goddess to prevent my spell from doing any damage to the Ranger.' which then inspired reactions of 'wow gms that do that are dicks' please just drop it my son
He was criticizing the way a GM handled a situation and you attacked him with personal insults. By the way I had played with him for a few years a while back, and I don't remember him thinking "everyone has it out for him."
nice! time to drop it now!
On an non-drama-related note, how is the goblin hotel going?
Can we have a new thread rule to not complain about people who actually read the thread. Though of course we should still reserve the right to call people not on Facepunch, 'baby bitch boys'.
I did not intend to stir up any shit. I intentionally didn't name the GM so people wouldn't be like 'wow man wtf', I kept it as factual as I remembered, and I never said he did it to counter me.(And sorry for constantly forgetting that you were a Fighter, Sib.) It was entirely coincidental that the switch happened right after my guy died, it was just annoying as fuck that I was useless for most of that game because none of my spells did anything to what we were fighting. The divine intervention comment was not intended to be criticism; a shield protected the Fighter from being hurt, which saved us in the long run because otherwise we probably would have lost the fight that came after that one ended.(In which the Fighter did a ridiculous amount of damage to a big enemy I don't remember the name of, while the rest of us mostly just did plink damage.) To be fair, I've only ever seriously thought 2 people had it out for me; one because he legitimately spent an entire campaign berating me, then spent half the session trying to rape me when we played Maid RPG. The other because he was just generally an angry person, I guess, and I tended to bring it out more than others. I didn't leave because I thought everyone had it out for me. I left because I was getting tired of that games I was in with the group, and I was being excluded from all discussion of the other games being set up at the time(I recall one game being set up that I had asked to join, and got a response of 'I'm just trying to keep the group small, this time', followed by the group growing a week later anyways. I vaguely remember people switching chats to talk about a game when I asked about it, too, but I can't remember if I was legitimately interested in that one or not). I ended up finding other people to play with, and left as peacefully as I could; didn't come into the chat to say 'fuck you guys, I'm out', I legitimately just told the GM of the one game I was still in that I was gonna duck out because I'd made other plans for the time the game was going to be, and stopped coming into the chat. Sorry for accidentally stirring up a pot of old shit, here is a dog as a sign of peace. :dog:
Playing Pathfinder for the first time. I shank a kobold for 4 damage. 3 kobolds gangbang me to -1 HP. Good game guys. Also out of over of thirty d20 rolls, I rolled more than a 10 on maybe ten of them max.
