Not played my 3DS XL in a while but probably going to get the new one and re-ignite the 'flame' and start playing all these awesome new games and also get back into New Leaf :)

I think Nintendo is aiming for handheld experience vs a portability. Bigger screens imo look way better than normal small screen.

All the bosses have the majora looking eyeball on them somewhere now. Whether or not its a weak point now I don't know. Which is fine for Odolwa since you can just slash him to death easily in the original.

Looks to be running on the same engine as FE:A so makes sense to get more use out of it.
As much as I'm interested in a new FE, the most hype was caused by getting a guest writer in for it. FE can easily have a great story and some really good moments, but Awakening and a lot of others came off as very generic or even sloppy. A guest writer with a lot of new ideas and more of an idea for overarching plot is exactly what it needs.
Smash Bros didn't support it so they may or may not.
Wow good job Nintendo not releasing the normal version of the system in the US. Guess I'm gonna need to get the PAL version after all and use Gateway since you don't like making money.
Again, they chose not to because it's quite likely it wouldn't make back production/promotion/distribution costs in the US. Aside from a relative niche, most people prefer bigger if given the choice, so rather than potentially waste time and money on producing something that will just sit around while another model eats all the sales, they're just not bringing it over here. They learned their lesson after the XL near totally killed the sales of the original in the US (a ~90% drop, IIRC, compared to 30-40% in other regions).
You might not like it, but it's business. It was done for a reason.

Its like they don't want to make cheap money out of things they already know people liked and will buy. And to think they had such a good start with the Wii before they started to give asymmetrical focus to WiiWare.

So why the hell is the regular not XL New 3DS not being sold? Is Nintendo hoping that people would upgrade to the XL, THEN release the cheaper standard model to make the most money? That would be flat out dirty of that was the case.
Oh well, guess I gotta fall for it. My 2DS is still broken, and my Pokemon Worlds team isn't going to build itself. I'm sad to say the thing I hate most about this is I wanted the Standard New 3DS for the sick SNES-ish design it's rocking. The XL just looks boring to me.

I got them on my e-mail from Nintendo Newsletter, maybe they'll do it for US later. (Although I guess you could use Softether VPN to connect to a EU VPN, set up a wireless hotspot on your PC and use that as your 3DS connection)

I guess it makes sense. I personally wanted the standard for how it looks, and cos lugging around a 2DS is a hassle (which I imagine an XL would be similar). And if they sold both the cheaper one would get the most sales (Like the 2DS I just mentioned!). I dunno, I feel it's kinda shitty to have only one option when there's different options in other territories, but I guess there's nothing that can be done about it. Unless I don't buy it in protest, and let's be real, that's not happening. Monster Hunter 4 is around the corner, after all.

They better announce when it will become available before it actually does. I don't think scalping is as common in the UK but my friend it bricking it right now over the thought of having to pay £300 for one of those babies.

I'm still annoyed I didn't get an offer for one of those ambassador 3DS's. Had my club Nintendo account for nearly 10 years, got my 3DS launch day etc.
I feel Nintendo doesn't handle releases very well, I only got hold of 1 amiibo I wanted because I went into the shop when it opened on the day.
