Mischief Makers 2 never :disappoint:
Mischief Makers 2 never :disappoint:
Mischief Makers has got to be one of the greatest games of all time. The only thing I actually dislike about it is the shitty 3D render on the boxart and cartridge. Especially when the game is filled with great-looking 2D art.
LBX came out.
4 hours in, loving it.
I made a Chameleon/Crab/Wolf hybrid bot, so it's fun.

I need to pick that up, I need a substitute for the hole that Custom Robo's lack of sequels leaves in my heart.
So I'm mainly a desktop gamer (and I own a PS4 for the PSN free subscription games), but I'll have a long commute and thusly will be spending a lot of time at my university. A gaming laptop is completely out of my price range, but I'd like to own something that I can carry with me that will allow me to game on the go. My only problem is, I'm kind of a picky gamer.
I'm a pretty hardcore FPS player generally. I don't like most RPGs, and I especially dislike JRPGs. I'll play through a pokemon game every once and a while but that's about it.
I enjoy racing games, but I dislike casual racing games like mariokart unless I have someone to play with. I enjoyed the NFS series a lot growing up, and recently trackmania.
I also like Sim games. Sim Racing, Euro Truck Sim, THE Sims. I could see myself playing something like Animal Crossing, but I've never put any time into that before.
My first thought was to go with the PS Vita, but it appears that console is nearly dead when it comes to new AAA releases. Is there anything for me on the 3DS?

I'd say no
there arent many if any FPS, sims or hardcore racing games on 3DS from what i know
Most of the good 3DS games are RPGs
Some non RPG 3Ds games I enjoy are
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy+ [Flight/Combat game]
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D [2D platformer]
Kid Icarus: Uprising [Rail Shooter/3rd person action game]
Kirby: Triple Deluxe [2D platformer]
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds [Top Down Adventure game]
The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of time 3D + Majora's Mask 3D [Action/Adventure game]
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon [Adventure game? not sure what genre this would be]
Star Fox 64 3D [Rail Shooter]
Super Mario 3D Land [Platformer]
Super smash Bros. [Fighting]
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars [Strategy]
If you want to play an RPG that isn't an anime JRPG I would highly reccomend one of the Mario And Luigi RPG games (Bowser's Inside Story is my personal favorite. Word of caution though Dream Team is very hand holdy)

You just made me want to play Custom Robo Arena again, and see if this time I can actualky get to fight the final secret boss.

You what?

That's the thing, too, I was playing Custom Robo DS up until this one's release, and they have lots of similarities, enjoying this one more, though. I made it to Ch4 already, And customizing is so much fun.
You what?
Yeah there's 2 final battle at the very end but you gotta to everything in the game: Grudge Matches, Undeground Battles, Arcade (including the ball-busting 10 Level arcade with only the Chick Robo, the weakest Robo set in the game, which was the only thing I needed to do)
Once you do: MAJOR SPOILERS-ISH [sp]You fight Eddie one last time and then you find out that Liv got better and can use a robo again, then you fight her.[/sp]
I remember reviewers saying that it's easy and whatnot. Let me tell you: the Story Mode is the only easy part, post-game is where it gets tougher.

You're fucking kidding me. I have the game lying around still I'm sure, you may have given me a reason to break it back out again sometime. And here I thought I done everything.
Custom Robo Arena, and a Snatcher avatar. You're a cool guy.

That game was the shit, its a shame that i have no idea where my cartridge is.
I hope the LBX game does well enough to have the other one or two games on the 3DS be localised. Dunno how well the model kits and the anime (apparently the first season that the game covers is reduced from 50 episodes to less than thirty due to trying to cut any of the more serious parts like the [sp]attempted prime minister assassination[/sp] so god knows how well that'll do) will do as a full franchise, but if the game performs well enough to get the sequel localised that's all I need.
Is the upgrade from an old regular 3DS to a New 3DS XL worth it?
And should I pick up Senran Kagura Burst while it's on sale?

That depends, do you have the first released model? Then yes, it's a vast improvement over the first 3ds. If you have a 3ds xl however i'd hold off unless you want something newer that badly.

I went straight from the original 3DS straight to the New XL and it's beyond worth it, I'd highly recommend it.

Senran Kagura Burst is a pretty good game if you like simple hack 'n' slash games and boobs, the story is okay if you like reading through tons of text (some of it being vapid and entirely unimportant/a waste to time to read through). I think Shinovi Versus on the Vita is leagues better by comparison, but I don't regret buying Burst either.
I could use a good hack and slash action-RPG like Shining Soul 2 or Sword of Mana for my 3DS. I don't think there are any in that vein though.

Wow, they made the game look lively and populated, with many things to look at too. This is something New Leaf should've been, a big populated town rather than just 10 random animals wondering around mindlessly. I hope they keep this aesthetic in the next Animal Crossing.
Do you think the old 3ds's will die out eventually and the new ones will rise. Or do you think Nintendo will still keep the old 3ds's in mind when making games

It's been out for what half a year and no true exclusives? I think it will go the way of the dsi.

There's nothing really wrong with that, there's no sense in crippling your market coverage for minor improvements when you could just put in some improved textures or optimised performance for the people who own it.

I heard from a friend that the framerate issues in Pokemon XY are still persistant on the N3DS. It's mind boggling how that's even possible.
I heard from a friend that the framerate issues in Pokemon XY are still persistant on the N3DS. It's mind boggling how that's even possible.
because it wasn't built for the N3DS so it would still have the same framerate as it runs on the original 3ds and XL
XY and ORAS have got to be some of the most disappointing products Gamefreak has ever created.

They tried to top it with that dumb elephant game
it worked
because it wasn't built for the N3DS so it would still have the same framerate as it runs on the original 3ds and XL
I didn't think a game would have to be built specifically for the N3DS to gain any benefit from it. You'd think that framerate issues were a result of the device chugging along, rather than the game coded to only use a certain amount of the device's power.
Going in a horde in X and Y was pretty bad, other then that I didn't see too much of a problem

Whenever you were in a battle, and the battle camera would split between the two Pokemon, there'd be a frame drop. It doesn't really bug me, but it's a matter of principle that it bugs me that it's still there in the more powerful system.
