So what are you guys opinion on Little Battler eXperience? Looks like Custom Robo's long lost brother. Looks quite fun too.
It'd be nice if certain performance heavy games that were made pre-N3DS could get optional patches to allow the game to use the N3DS to it's full potential, but that's most likely a pipe dream as I'm assuming patches wouldn't access lower level code.
At the very least I hope future games when played on a N3DS can run at a higher framerate or have higher res textures like Monster Hunter did.
I didn't think a game would have to be built specifically for the N3DS to gain any benefit from it. You'd think that framerate issues were a result of the device chugging along, rather than the game coded to only use a certain amount of the device's power.
console games are typically coded to take advantage of the hardware it's running on specifically in order for it to run the best it can. They can do this due to a fixed system. PC has a multitude of different hardware configurations so you can't do this.
Would it be possible to update your game to use the new CPU clock speed, or is it forever locked behind the game cart?
You can update your game to run on different hardware via a online patch, yes. Unfortunately for us, Gamefreak expresses no desire to even update XY to be fully compatible with ORAS, let alone fix their optimization fuck-ups that shouldn't have been in the game in the first place. The 3DS is defiantly more capable of handling visuals than Gamefreak is letting them.

Anyone remember how poorly optimised Diamond and Pearl were? like, there'd be a second or two pause between actions in battle, maybe it was loading something or something.

When you think about it, Pokemon games are absurdly broken and glitchy. Gen 2 was a shining gem in that, though, being marvels, honestly.
Isn't the reason that the 3D Pokemon games run so slow is because the fight models are super detailed? Like, Wii U quality?
Or is that just a rumor?

They aren't wii-u quality but they're more powerful than the 3DS can handle. They wanted to make models that'll last
Just take a look at the ripped models from X/Y and you will see how many polygons the models got, it's quite insane when compared to other 3DS games.
I dunno, some of them look pretty low-poly.
Why bother with such high polycounts when dealing with such a low resolution? Its ridiculous.

Because sometimes there are parts where they zoom in and stuff. I remember someone extracted the models from some megaman game and noticed the same thing.
Still seems strange to sacrifice framerate and the 3D feature for the sake of models with higher details that will go unknowticed most of the time. Although, I guess people may not care as much for framerate in a turn-based RPG. Still seems strange that some Pokemon will have a higher amount of detail on them than some of the towns in the game.

But the 3D feature is only enableable in battle, where the models are present (sand battles with 3+ Pokemon).

Like I said it's future proofing so they don't have to keep making 700+ models in future pokemon games and can just reuse them over and over again.

Thank Iwata for working miracles with the code for G/S.

<3 :plsunderstand:
A new Advance Wars for the 3DS would be awesome, I miss the series and characters so much. Though I could go without the style the latest one had, I prefer the cartoony original.
Edit: Nothing against the latest game, but the happy atmosphere and cartoon like villainy was awesome and I loved all the characters that came from the first three games, but the last one wasn't bad by any means. It added some cool units and expanded on some mechanics a bit, I just wasn't into the whole 'realism dark and gritty everything is hopeless errrgh we're all super tough', but everyone has their own preference.
Just imagine how cool it'd be to see Orange Star and the Allied nations go at it in 3D(or some other group). The battles would look so amazing! Ever since the 3DS was announced, I had hope we'd get one sometime, but I guess Fire Emblem has more of the spotlight and they've tried something new with Code Name Steam, but maybe there's still luck.
Oh neat, someone turned the 3DS into a wireless controller for Android phones.

I have been doing nothing but playing LBX for nine days. Someone send help.
Seriously, this has got to be the best 3DS game I ever played. Only downsides I've seen so far is no online multiplayer, and the fact you can't customize the colors so you'll end up with franken-lbxes with all the colors of the rainbow.
Reminds me of a mix of SDGO, Custom Robo, Medabots and Gundam Breaker.
So my 3ds needs an update, what was the most recent update for?
REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- At the GameStop Managers Conference in Las Vegas, Nintendo announced that the New Nintendo 3DS system will launch in the U.S. as part of a special bundle on Sept. 25. The bundle includes the new hand-held system, the upcoming Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer game, two cover plates and one amiibo card at a suggested retail price of $219.99. The more compact New Nintendo 3DS system joins New Nintendo 3DS XL, which has been available since Feb. 13.
In addition, a Hyrule Edition New Nintendo 3DS XL system will launch exclusively in GameStop stores on Oct. 30 at a suggested retail price of $199.99, just in time for the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes (sold separately) on Oct. 23. The system is gold-colored and features an intricate Hylian Crest on the front.
Other news revealed at the GameStop Conference included the debut of three new Wii Remote Plus controllers inspired by classic Mushroom Kingdom characters Bowser, Toad and Yoshi.
“More than 15 million systems in the Nintendo 3DS family have been sold in the U.S. alone,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “These new models offer additional fun ways to experience some of the great upcoming Nintendo 3DS games launching in the next few months.”
New Nintendo 3DS incorporates all the same enhanced features as the New Nintendo 3DS XL system, including a wider range of controls, face-tracking 3D and built-in NFC functionality that allows for communication with amiibo figures. The compact system also features interchangeable cover plates that can be easily swapped out to change the look of the device*. Two cover plates inspired by Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer are included in the bundle.
Various amiibo cards launch with the Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer game on Sept. 25. Tapping compatible amiibo cards while playing Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer is a way to meet favorite Animal Crossing characters with their separate personalities and design requests in the game. People who own the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL or Nintendo 2DS systems can still use the cards to enjoy Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer by purchasing the Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader/Writer accessory at a suggested retail price of $19.99. The wireless accessory also launches on Sept. 25 and allows players to enjoy amiibo figures and cards on all other systems in the Nintendo 3DS family.
Joining previously released Wii Remote Plus controllers themed after Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach, three new controllers inspired by Bowser, Toad and Yoshi will launch exclusively at GameStop at a suggested retail price of $39.99 each. The Bowser and Toad controllers will launch alongside the Super Mario Maker game for the Wii U console on the 11th of September, while the Yoshi version will hop on the back of the Yoshi’s Woolly World launch on Oct. 16. Wii Remote Plus includes Wii MotionPlus technology, and works with all Wii and Wii U games that are compatible with Wii Remote controllers.
Bowser, the newest member of the Photos with Mario series of Nintendo eShop Cards, is coming this fall – exclusively at GameStop. Customers can add $10 to their Nintendo eShop accounts and get the new Bowser AR card at no additional cost. With the Bowser AR card, players can use their Nintendo 3DS systems to play and pose with Bowser and other Mushroom Kingdom characters in the free Photos with Mario app.

You must submit to Isabelle in the west or else you don't deserve a N3DS
The Bundle is up for preorder on Gamestop right now.
Anyone know if there is any Gundam themes for the 3DS? Official or fan made.

Argh, the Zelda New 3DS XL looks fantastic, but I don't know if I can justify upgrading when my regular 3DS XL still works perfectly fine and I'd really only miss out on one (albeit fantastic) game.
They have released more special edition Zelda consoles then LoZ games in the last few years. :v:
i really like how the zelda n3ds looks, wish there was a way for me to trade in my black one for it or something

Well, I like my Majora's Mask one but fuck... Why do they always release the more neutral looking Zelda themed consoles after I bought them... And this new one has unique artwork.
