Majoras Mask 3DS (and others) available to preorder from EU Nintendo Store! Comes with Skullkid statue too
Again, they chose not to because it's quite likely it wouldn't make back production/promotion/distribution costs in the US. Aside from a relative niche, most people prefer bigger if given the choice, so rather than potentially waste time and money on producing something that will just sit around while another model eats all the sales, they're just not bringing it over here. They learned their lesson after the XL near totally killed the sales of the original in the US (a ~90% drop, IIRC, compared to 30-40% in other regions).
You might not like it, but it's business. It was done for a reason.
Yeah how do you know that for a fact? It's clear if Nintendo did their research they would know a lot of people want the regular. I don't even think its because of demand, they could have done a limited release like they have with all their other products recently. It's more likely that they didn't meet production, so the few that they did make they gave to the region that its most popular at. I mean they didn't even make enough power cables to include in the US version.
I still think, that eventually, they'll produce the regular version and release it here too.
Maybe near the second half of the year, near the holidays.

That's why I'm holding off on getting a N3DS XL. Other than better camera controls in MM and MH4U, plus slightly faster SSB loading times, there isn't much of a reason to get one now.

oh shit
totally forgot about that
So is there a Monster Hunter thread? I'd like to test out the Online mode of the demo, for stability purposes etc
My 3DS finally arrived from repairs, and all my data is still there.
[editline]15th January 2015[/editline]
I missed my Tomodachi Island.
If you buy majora's mask 3d with a new 3ds/xl in the nintendo UK online store, you will also recive a free skull kid figure (the same one that is in the US special edition of majora's mask 3d)

To be honest, I was not gonna get it. But damn am I happy to have snatched a MM N3DS AND the statue, with their limited purchase window.
This way, I won't miss out on N3DS exclusive titles (hopefully, they won't be many of those aside from very demanding ones like Xenoblade)
However, I think I heard somewhere in the direct that some devs are or will be taking advantage of the extra power so exclusives will become a thing that will be more predominant...
I was afraid that MM3DS was gonna be exclusive.
I'm conflicted. I like the New 3DS as a part of the 3DS family and I like the extra control features and hardware it brings, but I very much dislike the idea of it getting exclusives and wasn't going to indulge in it on the grounds that I don't want to see Nintendo releasing what essentially functions as a new console with only marginally better hardware on a regular basis.
But, that being said, I do still like the other features of the N3DS and the Majoras Mask N3DS is weakening my resolve.
I JUST bought my 3DS XL with my christmas money and only now did I find out that the New 3DS is going to have exclusives. Great.
Chances are its going to have DSi tier exclusives. Barely worth it just for the exclusives, it shines on all its' new features.
I'm just in love with that c-stick. It'll be able to introduce more FPS games to the 3DS (A local team here is building a minecraft clone and, i shit you not, you move your character around using the ABXY buttons)
The longer I look at the MH4U-edition New 3DS, the more it looks like a fursuit rather than brushed steel.

Prepare to be disappointed with the C-stick, It's pretty awful when it comes for precise camera/aiming.
Best use i had with it was moving left and right smoothly while up and down you have to place massive pressure to just get an pinch of the camera to move.
Some new stuff on MM3D,
Bomber’s Notebook
– Shows your current quests, rumors
- also shows completed quests
– Bomber gang will tell you rumors
– set alarms
Saving
– save by using owl statues
– more statues have been added
Song of Double Time
– shift time forward to any hour
Fishing
– 2 fishing holes
-- fishing holes have 10 different types of fish

One of the fishing spots.
Fishing Footage
Y'know. I'm thinking all of the cut content on the N64 version related to fishing might have actually been actually cut instead of just random leftovers from Ocarina of Time. It clicks together somewhat when you look at the 3DS footage and then the leftovers on the N64 cartridge, hopefully there is a Terminian Loach ripe for catching.

Link is supposed to be holding the fishing rod in the third image, but it doesn't load except for the holding animation.

I was under the impression it was supposed to be fur.
My friend (who also lives in the UK/Europe, if that matters) tells me that Nintendo sent him a New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Edition (a special edition of the New 3DS in Europe) before release as part of a super special Club Nintendo thing.
Is that a thing you can get from Club Nintendo or is my friend bullshitting me? Just curious. He tells me that it's arrived, and it runs pretty much everything 50% faster.
OoT keeps an almost stable 60 FPS.

The New 3DS doesn't change the FPS for any of the games. The Ambassador Edition is a real thing though.

He's surely bullshitting about OoT running at constant 60fps.

Wait, it doesn't? That sucks dick. I was hoping to get a chance to not get motion sickness from MGS3D.
I know that the Ambassador Edition is real, I was wondering if my friend actually got it. (He lives in a different city.)

The New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Edition was an exclusive deal only a few lucky Club Nintendo members received via an e-mail. The pack contained a white New 3DS, cover plates and a charging cradle, and it costed 200€/£180.

There is a link to it in the OP.
The New AR cards are smaller :3
Calling every Gamestop near me and they say the Monster Hunter bundle is online-only. What the hell? It doesn't say so on their website. I hope they don't sell out soon..
