Woah what. WHAT. Wow, what timing.
Well, I'm not gonna spend all that money on all those badges again.
.....probably. :worried:
I very much doubt they'll have all the badges from the Japanese version anyway, because there are a lot of culture-related ones, like for Japanese holidays and traditions. Also sets from Japan-only games like Band Brothers (unless they suddenly bring those over too).
Band Bros. was released in EU, too, scrublord.

I just came here to post this. :saddowns:
But yeah it's out. Source: https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/664261300374126592
Wait, the mascot is the bunny and not the glasses girl? Lame.
Mario, few Zelda ones, few Animal Crossing ones, and some themed based ones. SNES and Gameboy badges for today and tomorrow only.
Hah, they added an extra screen warning minors about spending real money.
Also holy shit is it weird having Baito-kun talk to me in English. I've always just gleaned his personality solely from the animations.
Wait, the mascot is the bunny and not the glasses girl? Lame.
Glasses girl? You mean Nikki? She's the Swapnote mascot. She did get a shitload of badges in the Japanese Badge Center, though, so maybe the western versions will get those too. They're surprisingly very Swapnote-themed, despite the app essentially being long dead when the badges came out.
The music is pretty good.
Nikki is pretty much dead to America sadly.
By the way, Nintendo's Japanese channel posted a tips and tricks video a while back for some of the early difficult badge machines. Now that these are going to be new again for the west, this video will be handy:

I saw some Nikki badges on the menu, so she's definitely in the game.
And this game is so much fun. I would play it all the time, even if you wouldn't get a thing.
I'm almost done with completing today's sets, my wallet is crying
I'm only missing one badge to get all the limited edition ones.
I have only spent a single dollar, though.
has anyone here gone from a new 3ds xl to the smaller new 3ds? how did it feel? i kinda want to pick up a regular new 3ds, the faceplates are cool and the smaller size is better on the go, but i'm worried that the smaller size might be uncomfortable for my hands or something
I picked up an Isabelle badge but the claw didn't grip it hard enough and dropped it.
fuck you nintendo i'm never buying any of your products ever again!!!
[sp]until i get an eshop card for those gameboy badges[/sp]
I saw some gameplay of the original Shantae for the GBC, and it looks cute. Has it aged well, or should I skip it and just play the new Shantae games?

I remember the original aging well, but Risky's Revenge is...eugh. Thankfully, the rest are good too, so do pick them up.
Hah, they changed how Baito reacts if you turn down his offer to spend money. In the Japanese version he slumps over and speaks in a depressed tone. In the western version he keeps a straight face and tells you that it's okay. Western Baito really wants you to know there's NO PRESSURE to spend money since he keeps fucking saying it in every tutorial.
I still don't know what his English name is. I was all cheeky and selected "I've been here before" in the intro and it felt like that made him just totally skip his introduction. Does he ever say his name?

Welcome to the fucking club.
I'm disappointed with the western version being $1 per five plays. In the Japanese one it's 90 yen per play, which is about 79 cents. I'll probably just stick to the Japanese one. Probably. :worried:

Nope, he doesn't say it if you say you've never been.

Damn. I tried flipping through the manual and it just calls him "the rabbit". I guess we'll find out eventually either through one of the content updates or through Nintendo's social media.

Jesus Christ, that rabbit's voice in that video sounded really obnoxious to me.
I just barely failed shoving the dog in a hole and now I'm mad.

I think it says something about my friends that this is not the strangest sentence out of context I've heard today.
I bet Nintendo released this badge game so we'd waste all our money before the direct came.

You'll die a lot until you get a couple of health upgrades, but it's pretty neat otherwise
How do I change the menu icons for badges?
I got the mii plaza gate badge (the yellow one with the leaf on top), but it doesn't let me change it with the mii plaza normal icon.

it doesn't replace it, it just acts a button to active the mii plaza
