Ultimately, the hardware is better in the 3DS, even without the 3D display, so it is far more sensible of a platform for developing games for. Its a gimmick that is was used more to sell the console rather than actually create interesting new mechainics. The games are great though, so I can't complain.
I just wish these games came out for previous generation DS's, so I didn't have to waste money on a little sidebar that I would never use.
Or if there was a way to get rid of the function and save some bucks.

You could buy the 2DS. It doesn't have the 3D function, hence the name, and it's a bit cheaper as well. However, the downside is that it looks like an axe.

The DS is comparable to the Nintendo 64 in terms of specs, the 3DS is comparable to the Wii in the same regard.
It's like complaining that the PS2 games can't be played on a PS1.
There all done.

Yeah, ugh, why did Nintendo have to make a new console
They should have just kept making these games come out on the GameBoy, so I don't have to waste money on these more powerful consoles that I never play, except for when im playing games on them :/

I think you have a misconception of what and why people enjoy the 3DS. Like, nobody buys Pokemon for 3D, or literally any other game on it. Why yes it does make the experience better in some cases (especially on the New 3DS, it looks amazing) its not the reason people buy it and developers dont really give a rats ass about it either.
I'm still pissed they didn't make the New Smash Bros for the Nintendo Wii or the DS.
Guh, they had FF IV at the Square Enix store for 6$, but it seems they ran out just as I was paying, so I wasn't able to get it.
Why is it so hard to find all the good DS JRPGs at decent prices.

I cannot believe the levels of "you done it" you've achieved.
Hi! I just bought a used 3DS XL that should be here in a week, and got Majora's Mask 3D on sale for $25 just now. Haven't been paying attention to the games that were coming out since the 3DS launched, so I haven't got a clue whats out for it.
Are there any must-have games? I plan on picking up Animal Crossing: A New Leaf and two other games since Gamestop has a Buy 2 Get 1 promotion going on. Not really a fan of Pokemon or Smash, sadly.
Is Codename S.T.E.A.M any good? I can pick it up for $13 new at the moment, and it looks interesting, but I remember hearing people disappointed by it for some reason.

Kid Icarus Uprising is pretty fantastic, great writing, fun gameplay, good replayability and online multiplayer
If you like RPG's and want a 100+ hour first playthrough, SMT4 is second to none
Monster Hunter 4U is an amazing co-op action game, but has a very high learning curve, and isn't quite everyone's style of game
Fire Emblem Awakening is a great entry point to that series, grid based strategy RPG with lots of conversations and dialogue, and a top-notch presentation.
Codename STEAM is...hard for me to recommend. I only ever made it through what I felt was about half or two thirds of the game [sp]I got to the Emerald City[/sp]. The presentation is amazing, and the gameplay's fun, but the missions are long, there's little sense of progression, and it's easy to get frustrated by things like infinite streams of enemies, strings of missed shots, etc

The Etrian Oddessy series is cool. The 4th game is probably the best place to start in the main series but they also have a Persona spinoff if you're invested in that series.
Feels odd being the only one to like Callie apparently.
I guess I don't get the appeal of liking someone that would probably hate you if you made eye contact :v:

If you like strategy games I really recommend Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars. Super cheap and actually pretty good.
I'm stuck on Monster Manor. The skeleton rider boss keeps killing me, and I can barely make a scratch.
What am I supposed to do?

Marie isn't hateful. She just uses sarcasm as her form of humor. Which I totally get. She's chill. And also green, which is better than purple.

What gun are you using? Get something with either paralyze or freeze; those are the best abilities and work on just about every boss. It's also possible to avoid every attack in the game; you just have to learn when to block. Even if you have an ineffective weapon type that only chips away at a boss, you should always be able to outlast them with patience and blocking.
The way I always did it was to always be charging a shot, then release when they're about to attack so I can block. A lot of the time a charged shot will cancel out their attack so you can begin charging a new one. I also filled my inventory with nothing but +2 charge speed badges.
Marie has joined the villains at literally every turn and actively tries to get the youth of the plaza to dive into the water.
When that failed she just straight up joined the side that eats squid.
I think she has a number of problems
This is exactly how Nintendo planned it. Japan already has this covered, but they've successfully made people want to fantasize about lewd cephalopods in the west.
I figure only myself and Alpha might care about this but someone took some screenshots in Majora's Mask 3D and stitched them together in photoshop to show off the Art of Majora's Mask
Really shows off how gorgeous the game is and how Grezzo worked some serious magic.

Yo so I'm trying to digitally download Super Mystery Dungeon through some coffee shop internet cuz the internet where I'm staying right now won't let me connect with my console.
The internet at the cafe seems fine but the download just never finishes- after a couple minutes the "Internet" bar in the top right goes grey and says "enabled" and it'll say an error occurred and stop the download. The Internet bar will pick right back up again afterwords.
Is the internet just swiftly disconnecting-reconnecting or am I doing something wrong?

Holy fuck that looks amazing
My biggest gripe with triforce heroes player wise is having bossy players treat you like you are a doppel from single player, they carry you around and get mad/disconnect when you can't read their mind and don't do their plan like they want.
Triforce force heroes should really be more on the "go with the flow" side when playing with randoms, sometimes people try too hard to make a plan and it unsurprisingly fails because communication with emotes and miming can only go so far (as well as refusing to cooperate because things aren't going the way you think it should go).

I legit love the 3D and since I have the New 3DS I have it enabled almost all the time. Although I admit some games don't really take advantage of it.

Unlike OoT3D which will be debated for eternity about what's better and what isn't, I do like that Majora's Mask 3D just decided to recreate the eerie, colorful world of Termina but added its own unique touches to the art design to distinguish itself rather than try to be 1:1. Adds a bit of unique character to the remake that helps establish itself as its own rather than just trying to be the original game on the 3DS.

I'd say overall OoT3D is better than the N64 version. The only huge problem with the remake is the terrible lighting in certain parts (I like not seeing most of Ganon Greezo). But the 3DS version has better controls, better pacing (even though the Water Temple is a little too handholdy Iron/Hover Boots as items is perfect), and all the iconic glitches intact if you're into that.
I'm glad that the team fixed some of the big issue that the N64 of Majora's Mask version had, namely the Gyorg and Twinmold boss fight. I do hate that they soften Odolwa and Goht though. They were hard but not hard enough to get nerf.
I hope they do the same thing with some bosses on Twilight Princess HD, namely the Water Temple boss.
