So is M&L Paper Jam any good?
My only real complaint is that there aren't many new enemies. It's all goombas koopas and whatnot along with their paper selves. I keep waiting for the weird ass guys to show up like the other M+L games and it's slowly coming to me that it ain't gonna happen.
So one of the reasons I ordered a new 3DS was to replace my old one since the right hand side of the touch screen broke and had an area that was not responsive when touched by the pen (the touches would be off to the side). I was happy to not have this problem after ordering this new 3DS (I tested it to make sure) since the issue was gone, but unfortunately days afterwards the same thing happened to my new one on the left hand side of the touch screen, which baffles me because I've barely used it (the console itself has been sitting on my desk). Unfortunately the new 3DS I have was bought second hand so there's no warranty, thinking the best I can do really is just order a replacement touch panel and have a go at repairing it [thumb]http://i.hetsu.co.uk/2016/01/24/13_53_56.png[/thumb] Anyone else had this issue, is there any specific cause for it? I find it ridiculous it's happened twice in a row.
I haven't had or seen an issue like this but if it happened to a brand new 3DS, could there be something in your vicinity that might be affecting it? I'm leaning towards magnets but I think that'd just ruin the whole thing rather than a part of it.
Unfortunately it's second hand off ebay, not brand new. although as I mentioned, I tested it after I received it to check for issues like this and there was none, only started occurring after a few days. I doubt it's anything magnetic, only things I can think of that would've been nearby to it would be my speakers and headphones. I have had my phone placed on the top of it once or twice too although i'll be very impressed if that's caused the issue. My old 3DS however was brand new, and the issue started happening (ironically) days after the warranty expired.
I often put my 3DS and phone in the same pocket, no problems there even after several hours. Have you tried recalibrating the touch screen? If that doesn't work, you could probably try calling Nintendo's support number, they might know what's wrong and how to fix it without sending it in.

I did google the issue beforehand and came up with a nintendo support forum page http://techforums.nintendo.com/thread/26493 which unfortunately suggests it's not repairable unless I send the console back for repairs (which will cost since it's not under warranty). What I'm trying to find out in the first place is what's caused this issue and how the same thing has happened twice in a row, I personally don't know anyone else who has had this happen.
Can you send it back? Also what are you doing on the 3DS that could of caused it? Twice in a row is fishy
Can you send it back? Also what are you doing on the 3DS that could of caused it? Twice in a row is fishy
Nothing! I suspected the first one was caused by me keeping it in my bag and a buildup of dirt under the touchscreen damaging it. the second one all I've done is had it sit around on my desk, I have played games on it a few times and I was making sure I was extra careful with it so this doesn't happen again. what I find strange is that the touches still register, just not where they should be (how I've drawn the curve on the edge of the screen where it appears to be damaged) yes, I have tried calibrating it. Can't send it back though since it's second hand and not under warranty, unless I want to pay for it to be repaired.

So they just removed the Gimmick of having the monsters and just added energy balls.
Wow. That game looks absolutely awful.
I haven't seen Linkle's story yet, but the Wind Waker storyline isn't all that interesting from what I watched (then again, I can't read Japanese). I just wish the Wii U version got the WW Adventure Map.
At this point I'm just hoping for a final definitive version on another platform. The 3DS clearly wasn't built for it.
I still don't see why they wanted to make a 3DS version anyway. Were people just begging to take their Hyrule Warriors action on the go?
im quite liking hyrule warriors honestly... sure its probably better on the wii u, but me not having a wii u its my only option. itll have to do [editline]24th January 2016[/editline] having played DW games before i think the controls and stuff translated pretty well to a handheld. framerate is pretty good on N3DS too (i dont really have a good sense of 60 fps, but it feels 60 to me), sure the resolution and graphics are garbage but personally im used to that on 3DS games by now
I still don't see why they wanted to make a 3DS version anyway. Adventure mode squares would be fantastic on the go
Is bravely default worth picking up? I've been listening to its soundtrack on youtube and it's fucking amazing, but I don't really know much else about it.
Is bravely default worth picking up? I've been listening to its soundtrack on youtube and it's fucking amazing, but I don't really know much else about it.
I remember hearing something about having to replay all the dungeons in it multiple times with no alteration to them in order to beat the game, but I could be wrong.
I remember hearing something about having to replay all the dungeons in it multiple times with no alteration to them in order to beat the game, but I could be wrong.
It's kind of annyoing but you can turn off encounters to get through them fast and get to the new stuff.
Basically at one point in the game you activate a time loop and you're told to redo these dungeons over and over again. The puzzles remain already solved so it's just a jaunt through it to fight the area boss (which progressively gets harder with each loop) 4 times. The thing that changes between loops though are the side fights which are some of the hardest fights in the game and they all give insight to the side characters (the first two loops are about the same though). You can also get like 2 jobs during this all. It's not anywhere near as bad as people make it out to be but it's still pretty annoying. Speaking of which I finished Paper Jam. I can at best compare it to comfort food. It has little substance and a ton of issues like attack variety and enemy variety being pitiful but I still think it's a great game regardless of that all. The writing really helped keep me going personally and the payoff with the final boss(s) was well worth it. I just don't really see myself doing a second run like the other games any time soon. It's a solid 7/10 really

I really hope these rumors of "Wiiu paper mario former glory etc etc" are true, Like..it doesn't even have to be that great, just...fucking try nintendo.
I just wish Paper Jam was more like the final lead up to the end boss. It was really cool and the final boss itself was one of the series best imo. It's just half the time I just didn't care too much. Peach and Bowser Jr and everyone else is so well written that it's bizarre that they forgot a actual motivating plot.
By the way, apparently the Japanese version of Hyrule Warriors Legends already has the English files, so anyone who wants to see Linkle's story in English can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21m8TYz4hvY
I'm enjoying Paper Jam quite a lot, and the dialogue is fantastic like always. (I love M&L/PM Bowser, they're such goofball) [editline]26th January 2016[/editline]
By the way, apparently the Japanese version of Hyrule Warriors Legends already has the English files, so anyone who wants to see Linkle's story in English can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21m8TYz4hvY
So... the game is pretty much done, so why we gotta wait until March? Oh, I saw a gameplay video of Ganondorf with the Trident, and holy crap he looks fast with it. That Pikachu is one smooth talking motherfucker.
I hope it has that LA Noire questioning.
I've been thinking, the last footage of Federation Force is from E3, is Nintendo afraid to show new stuff about it due to the fanbase reaction?
I've been thinking, the last footage of Federation Force is from E3, is Nintendo afraid to show new stuff about it due to the fanbase reaction?
All they need to do is put out a single trailer showing anything metroid looking. Any environment, enemy, anything that looks like it would tie the game into the series.
I've been thinking, the last footage of Federation Force is from E3, is Nintendo afraid to show new stuff about it due to the fanbase reaction?
Yep. They aren't going to can it but they've clearly decided that it's not worth marketing based on the widespread reaction. Don't be surprised when you go to the store for something and see that it's released already without fanfare [editline]26th January 2016[/editline]
