That's how they lure you in. You think you're roleplaying ironically, before you know it you're posting your OCs and telling people how to write them and providing references. It's a steep slope, brother. Get out before RPmania rolls all over you.

Usually I just drop one post and leave because it usually leads to the thread dying or it continues without anyone responding to my shitpost depending on how many comments it has.
But now I'm actually bailing from the thread. I honestly wasn't expecting anything more than being ignored, maybe a few "GET OUT"s, and maybe getting an actual ban.
EDIT: I think I actually succeeded in sinking the thread.
Paper Jam's team did a AMA on miiverse
Lots of interesting stuff like how the plot would of featured locals from previous paper mario games and whatnot and the original plot being about the world turning into paper but... apparently they just weren't happy with the script.
They also thought about having original characters like Goombella or Popple in it but felt like relying on cheap cameos and the like wasn't a good idea and decided to stick to the mainline cast and flesh them out to keep the story moving forward.
Lots of neat things
I don't know if this is maybe the right place to say this but, I'm looking to sell a brand new, opened (US) New 3DS XL.
I got it months ago off Craigslist and it went great. The problem being that my hands are too small to properly use it and it's just sitting in the box.
I'm going to try Craigslist again but I'm wondering if anybody here would want it.

I fully expected something like this to have happened but somehow I'm still dying inside
First of all:
They also thought about having original characters like Goombella or Popple in it but felt like relying on cheap cameos and the like wasn't a good idea
how dare you
also these kind of characters basically make the essence of both series and they took them out. Not saying they should have brought back old characters but it definitely would've been better than the soulless husk of a crossover we got, considering this was probably the one and only opportunity to make it happen. It's a crossover, it's supposed to be wild.
To be fair there's a shit ton of soul and spirit in Paper Jam. The Jr.'s are super well written and the game makes Toadette a complete badass. I can't think of a single character who didn't come out better in this game.
At least Paper Jam doesn't seems to be a huge disapointment like Sticker Star.
At least Paper Jam doesn't seems to be a huge disapointment like Sticker Star.
This has probably been said before, but for me; the biggest redeeming quality of Sticker Star was the music.

The only redeeming quality of sticker star was the music.
And i will not ignore that fact.
How can you stay mad at something catchy as this?

Sticker Star was a okay game.
It's seriously only held back by the shitty story and awful combat mechanics. If they had made it a straight up point and click adventure game like the game tries to be I think it would of been way better received as it does have a ton of really fun moments like the Resident Evil styled manor and the Snifit gameshow.
It's not something I'd ever care to replay on my own time and I do wish it was more like 64 and TTYD but I have a hard time calling it straight up trash. Here's to hoping that the rumored one if real can be a good return to form, though I'm worried it's going to lean too far on paper jokes again.
Don't forget about this diddy:

Feels nice to actually use Miiverse for once. :v: And boy golly, seeing all the Koopalings talking and with their own personalities easily makes this game a favorite for me.

Wait, the koopalings co-existing with Bowser Jr. outside of a spin-off? Hot damn.
I was not aware the Koopalings were in paper Jam. That's interesting, now
Wait, the koopalings co-existing with Bowser Jr. outside of a spin-off? Hot damn.
That happens in New Super Mario Bros U.
That happens in New Super Mario Bros U.
Smash 4 too i supose.
Koopalings all have super unique personalities and gimmicks to their fights. Roy and Wendy having the best :v:
Listening to this theme made me realize how much of a better choice it would have been to have Popple as the thief in Paper Jam instead of Nabbit.

It takes awhile but you'll understand why they went with Nabbit.
Spoiler is the payoff, don't read it unless you gotta know: [sp]I mean it would be kinda odd to have Popple join your party in the last dungeon for a bit let alone being composed enough to do bro attacks[/sp]
Wait, the koopalings co-existing with Bowser Jr. outside of a spin-off? Hot damn.
They coexisted in New Super Mario Bros Wii and New Super Mario Bros U, too. (Curiously, he was nowhere to be seen in NSMB2, yet the Koopalings were, and vice versa for NSMB)
I've been really enjoying Final Fantasy Explorers since I got it, but trying to find some of the materials has been a pain. What drops what? Where does the monster that drops it even spawn?
It's one of those games where a database would be EXTREMELY useful. Kiranico for Monster Hunter was a godsend, it sucks not having something like that.

Oop, never played that one.

That goes under "spin off." Especially since its not a Mario title. It'd be like comparing Link and Toon Link being in the same game.

Seems like monster spawn is randomized through a list depending on the area and the mission. There have also been times where I have gone through an area, and backtracked in the same mission, only to find that the enemies that had spawned last time were replaced by a different sheet thereof.
As for "What drops what," I have a sort of generic solution for that. Try sticking with the fresh and new areas each time a selection of items becomes available at the smithy. The stronger recipes don't contain materials from earlier areas/monsters.
I don't know how old the rumors are, but apparently Bravely Second's going through some censorship too. The Hawkeye boss, a woman who is admittedly kind of an Indian stereotype, is getting a changed outfit to cover her up with more of a western/cowboy theme going on, but that isn't the worst part; the class you get from her, Tomahawk, is supposedly renamed to Cowboy overseas and I wouldn't be surprised to see an outfit change too.
If it's true, I wonder how no one on the localization team caught the whole killing an Indian makes you a Cowboy thing
Wouldn't it be defeating a cowboy to become one if the asterisk holder is getting changed too?
I mean it's still really stupid and pointless but if you had no knowledge that she was a Indian stereotype overseas I can't see a issue with it as is

Depends on if the dialogue and characterization are changed to compensate. They could write out the character's tribal origins or keep them completely intact. Even if they're wearing cowboy clothes, someone who's basically an Indian doesn't change the context too much, but if they're rewritten to remove that little aspect then the controversy would probably switch over to altering an entire character to avoid the stereotype.
I don't really see that as hat much of a censorship. She still has the same amount of clothing. I just find it a change that they decided while localizing over removing features from a game. I cannot see in any how this could blow up into a big issue.

I thought it was renamed to Hawkeye.
I just wonder what's the context, would it be possible that she's only changed because she's portrayed as a villain? if she was changed then they'd have to change the class outfits just so that they're consistent. plus if the class was called Cowboy is just leading up to a whole syntax issue like Etrian Odyssey had with Troubadours (were called Bards but they were obviously Bard/Male and Dancer/Female inspired. mostly due to diversity class names. Landskneght sounds weirder but more unique than Swordsman) and Princesses/Princes before they were possibly changed to Sovereigns.
Class itself has an S with guns, so Hawkeye just works better, seems to me they just changed it because Indians with guns sounds a bit too Western influenced on what could be seen as a stereotype, sites like Kotaku only cares for the upfront appearance rather than the actual context behind it. but i see how it could be seen since Asterisks are technically jobs in the BD universe, if you took Tomahawk's garb then you're just dehumanizing a character's appearance as something compulsory. in the BD universe has there ever been more than 1 person of a Job before besides stuff like sidequests or defeating their holders? [sp]or looping[/sp]
Rocket Company has released new details on its upcoming Medabots: Girls Mission for 3DS, the first Medabots game to be rated for ages 15 and up in Japan. And today’s new information is probably why.
When you use a Medaforce Burst to deliver a finishing blow, a command window appears. If you successfully input the command that appears within the time limit, you can blow away the clothes of the opposing Medafighter with a “Hyper Finish.” Special move scenes are being prepared for each Medabot.
