I'm conflicted. I like the New 3DS as a part of the 3DS family and I like the extra control features and hardware it brings, but I very much dislike the idea of it getting exclusives and wasn't going to indulge in it on the grounds that I don't want to see Nintendo releasing what essentially functions as a new console with only marginally better hardware on a regular basis.
It is basically the Game Boy Color all over again, slowly displacing its predecessor while not being exactly new.
Ordered the Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Edition N3DSXL bundle! Pretty excited. I couldn't wait to see if there was going to be a Xenoblade pack.
I'll be honest, the MHU4 New 3DS looks beautiful, the thing that kills it for me is that I won't get the game because when I do a system transfer, i'll loose the game to my old 3DS since it's pre-installed, and if I wasn't a big fan of Zelda I would have gotten that one. Still having some hope for the Majora's Mask New 3DS to appear somewhere...

From what I've read, if you system transfer your old 3DS that has a NNID linked with it, to a system that had games on it, but no NNID, it'll merge. At least, that's what I've come to understand, and is hopefully true.
Got an extra Monster Hunter code. A0706FLM045P9JAL
Got an extra Monster Hunter code. A0706FLM045P9JAL
Got it. Thanks!
Monster Hunter 4 Demo code incoming!: A071DTVX34KFMN0V With that out of the way, I had a bit of reassurance from Nintendo regarding upgrading from the vanilla 3DS to the New 3DS. Apparently all you have to do is copy the contents of your SD card to your computer, and then put that data into the New 3DS' MicroSD card, and then some sort of content transfer will happen. This is VERY good news for me, considering my 2DS is broken but the SD is still fine. I can upgrade to the New 3DS without fear of losing my save data
Tried it but it doesn't recognise the code for some reason. Check if the code is correct
Its probably for north america only.
Its probably for north america only.
Aah, that makes sense, I forgot they chose to make the codes region-locked :v:
I remember when the New 3DS was first announced, there was a lot of discussion about exclusives and such, in response someone made these charts: [t]http://i.imgur.com/JN2EDn2.png[/t] Most of those DSi exclusive games were only small games released on the DSi Store (and from what I've heard they were all terrible). So really I don't think there's any reason to worry about the New 3DS. Exclusive games will be few and far between, developers know that the N3DS market will be smaller, and most will probably opt for just enhancing the game with things like the C-stick or Z buttons.
So I got two 20$ Nintendo cards for 38 bucks at bjs Mm3d here I come
I got some MH4U codes, I'm not really that interested in using one

Is it true that the international n3DS has a better screen than the JP one? People are saying the ambassador edition and the standard models in AU look great. (To those confused, there were a lot of complaints when it released in Japan that the screen was yellowed and cheap-looking compared to the standard 3DS/LL)
whoa, build your own N3DS bundle (UK only it seems) http://store.nintendo.co.uk/new-nintendo-3ds/build-your-own-bundle.list

Will any micro sd cards work in the new Nintendo 3ds?
Just wondering, I haven't played a Fire Emblem game before but I really want to get into one. Do I have to buy any other Fire Emblem games to understand the story in awakening? Or does it explain itself. I wouldn't want to be jumping into the middle of the series story or something.

It's its own story. The only thing you may miss out on is the few references to past hero figures of the series. Otherwise, all the lore is explained in-game.
I'm really wondering if the new features on the New 3DS are really worth it. I mean, I can trade in my old 3DS for $80 at Gamestop, but then I'm paying $120 for the C-stick, L2 & R2, faster processor, and the face tracking 3D. Bonus if I can get the Majora's Mask version. AND I still have to pay for MM itself. What are your guys' opinions on it? Are there some other features I'm forgetting?
Faster Fucking Mii Maker
What are your guys' opinions on it? Are there some other features I'm forgetting?
I made a post in the old thread when users asked me questions about the New 3DS.
The brightness settings are automatically on low/to auto-adjusted so it looks a little yellowy but you can change them on the HOME menu and it'll be just as bright, if not, a little brighter than the original 3DS XL. It's also a lot louder than the original 3DS XL too. With the added processing power and extra RAM it really puts it all to use, say, in Smash 3DS. When pressing the HOME button you instantly get the home menu and all the loading screens are a lot shorter meaning you rarely see that Smash icon to say whether the game it loading or not. It's more faster around the HOME menu itself and loading up the Eshop is just so much better. The system doesn't reset when you go back to the HOME menu after a game of Smash, it just instantly does it with no delay. The extra ZR and ZL buttons are also used in Smash 3DS for grabbing and using the shield. I did try out Snake Eater 3D and it automatically used the C-Stick when I selected the Circle Pad Pro and it felt pretty cool to finally use a second stick to control the camera. That too also used the ZR and ZL buttons. The New 3DS features I reckon will work better with the newer games that'll come out like Majora's Mask 3D and stuff like that. But most games I played had less loading times, though didn't change anything else like the framerate or anything like that. It terms of how it feels, it's all down to each different person, but I feel like the curves on the edges feel a little more smoothed out so if you had the problem of you hands getting a little uncomfortable when you play for too long then that doesn't happen. All the buttons have a very nice clicking feel and the normal Circle Pad still feel the same. The C-Stick is pretty neat, works in the HOME menu and it acts as the Cirple Pad Pro in the games that require it. You can change the sensitivity of the C-Stick and it feels great. Though the C-Stick doesn't actually move like a regular stick. The 3D Stabilization works really well I'm glad to say. You turn on the 3D and the little camera at the top follows your face as it has facial recognition. I've moved my New 3DS to all angles with the effect on and it still followed my face. Doing stuff like aiming the Bow, Hookshot & looking around in Zelda: OOT 3D feels much better. Looking at the trophies in Smasg 3DS is a good way to test the new 3D effects. The camera works in pretty dark rooms too so if you sit in bed at night then the 3D effect will still work.
3D Afterburner II is fast, pretty and hard as shit Go buy it and make M2 proud
I made a post in the old thread when users asked me questions about the New 3DS.
That's actually really helpful, thanks. I think I'm gonna go for it. It just all around seems much better. I'm wondering if Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance plays much differently with it, though, probably not other than camera control with the CPP. I think your post should be added to the OP, could be helpful for others who are on the fence.
Really the only thing that bugs me about the n3DS XL is that it's glossy. I hate glossy electronics.
60fps MM3D! http://www.zeldainformer.com/news/some-new-information-about-majoras-mask-3d-along-with-a-handful-of-confirma#.VLm4W0eUf62
So Japan got a Sega Saturn theme for the 3DS, and it plays an instrumental version of Super Sonic Racing with it: I really want this theme.
Does anyone have a spare monster hunter demo code for the US?
